when you have been granted a permanent visa and have decided to bring your family in AU, the AU Immi will use the list you provided in your previous application as their basis.
Matagal ba? yes, because they will have to undergo medical (if required), provide documents etc etc. I-add mo pa yung 'standard processing times' ng AU immi then will be for a significant amount of time.
diff between 190 vs 189 in terms of your family's visa applications? NONE as far as I know.

if you are interested to migrate make sure you have concrete reason why. once you started your plan theres no looking back. pero kong nanghihinanyang ka sa maiiwan mong kinikita baka di kapa ganun ka decided.
I don't think its a good idea na leave muna tpos hanap work kasi yung eagerness mo na maka hanap ng work doon wont be 100% kasi alam mo may babalikan ka pa. this just my opinion din. since gumastos ka na kumuha ng PR visa focus ka na sa new life in new location.
better kasama na family sa application. pede naman sila maiwan pero with visa na. if yun ang plano nyo.
189 and 190 same process and requirements. afaik.

For me, its better to include them in your application now. It will be more costly and the pathway to PR for your wife and kid will be longer if you include them later on. Partner application costs ~7k tapos processing time is more or less 2 years Temporary visa pa lang un. while if you qualify for 189/190 now you can include them as dependents for ~3k AUD (wife + kid)

Pangalawa din po ung mga nababasa ko sa forums at quora n mahirap maghanap ng work if walang local(Australian) work experience sa mga first timers.
I will include my family sa application as adviced.
Medyo malaki laking gastos nga pala talaga to.
Salamat po sa mga advice.
