    Hello po, I am an Environmental Engineer by profession and I've been working in an Environmental consultancy for 8 years na. I am interested in applying for a PR in Au under subclass 189. I would like to seek for clarification if Engineers Australia are requiring overseas PR applicants to acquire Engineering courses in Au prior to visa application or they are implementing score system? I am currently reading the MSA booklet and I'm kinda lost specifically in the Occupational Categories in Engineering. Hope someone can enlighten me with my concern. Thank you in advance!

    @czianczia28 hello. ‎you dont have to apply for an egg'g degree in au to apply for pr. if you completed your degree in the philippines, you have to prepare your cdr to prove your competency as an environmental engineer, which of course needs to be acknowledged by ea. their decision would give you the points you need for your eoi (15 points if bachelor, 10 points if diploma). they can also assess your employment thru rsea

    @anotherhopeful base sa experience namin ng husband ko, waiting na din kami ng result for visa 189 nag lodge kami nung end of Jan, but since need namin pumunta by April for sis wedding, nag apply kami ng tourist visa and we're both granted.

    For our visa 189, wala pa kaming CO contact. Not really sure if there's an effect if we have a tourist visa while waiting for the pr grant. Wala din naman tinanong yung immigration nung nag apply kami tourist visa...

    hope this helps..

    Magtanong lang po ako for my friend. Pwede po ba maging dependent ung friend ko working as a nurse in SG pero wala pang AHPRA (passed PTE na) ang main applicant is yung husband na IT with 65 points (visa 189)... Gusto po kc nila makaclaim ng additional 5 points as partner. Qualified po ba sya? And ano po need nya gawin? Naginquire po sya sa anmac pero since hndi pa sya registered sa AHPRA eh prang hndi daw sya iaassess ng anmac for skills assessment... (?) naguluhan po ako.. i would like to help her sana... may alam po ba kayong way pra maclaim nila ung partner points (+5) pra maboost ung points ni husband to get invited?
    Thank you in advance po...

    @n3n_3pqln once you receive your ITA, you need to plan kailan ka mag visa lodge and you’ll take it from there one step at a time.
    I agree with @cucci - ideally - naikasa mo na lahat bago mag visa lodge para done deal kana.

    for SG based peeps -
    inuna namin ang SG police clearance simply because gusto lang namin na tapos na yang part na iyan and make sure na available na at wala ng issue. next is i plan mo din maigi dahil in my experience hindi madali mag sched ng medicals, meaning - susunod ka sa available slot ng clinic kaya icheck mo din yun agad.
    all can be accomplished within a month ng masigasig na pag aayos ng documents and requirements.
    If may additional questions ka for any (sg police clearance or medical) - pm ka lang :)

    Hi all!

    Noob question lang po, sino po nagbibigay ng ITA sa applicant? At sino sino pang involve na entity ang magrereview ng profile aside sa skill assessing body nung applicant na sinubmittan nya ng application prior to issuing the ITA to the applicant?

    I can't still somehow get the clear picture about the processing ng DIY. Thanks in advance sa makakapag shed ng input.

    @Pinoy_Imphotep The EOI is submitted to the Department of Home Affairs. Sila yung Australian government agency na nag-iissue ng ITA. Sa kanila rin nagssubmit ng visa applications and sila ang nagggrant ng visas. Before you can submit an EOI you need to take an English exam which is handled by either IELTS or PTE and you also need to have a skills assessment. Iba-iba ang skills assessing authority depende sa occupation. AFAIK, the skills assessing authorities are independent of but accredited by the Australian government.

    If you are seeking state sponsorship then you will also have to submit an application for state sponsorship to the government of your selected state. DHA will only issue an ITA if the sponsoring state nominates you.

    @joy.0491

    I guess legit sya :) ito yung source nila:

    https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/F2019L00578/Explanatory Statement/Text

    Parang mas okay yung changes na yun kasi mas malaki na ang chance to get higher points. Kaso sa November 16 pa, ang tagal pa. hehe!

    Ito yung sagot sa question mo why points are awarded to singles:

    SBS Article
    https://www.sbs.com.au/yourlanguage/hindi/en/article/2019/04/09/10-points-those-who-do-not-have-spouse-or-partners-new-visa-points-system

    Migration expert Chaman Preet explains the changes benefits both singles and those who have a skilled spouse.

    "New system offers ten extra points for applicants who do not have a spouse or partner. Earlier applicants with partners had the edge over singles as they could claim extra points on their partner's skills," says Ms Chaman Preet of Melbourne-based Migration and Education Expert.

    The amendments to the point system follow the recommendation of the Productivity Commission. In its 2016 report, the Productivity Commission had recommended that the points system be amended so that secondary applicants with skills and other desirable employment-related characteristics contribute significantly to the points score of the primary applicant.

    "Preference will be given to the applicants who have a skilled partner or those who do not have a partner. The applicants with a partner who does not have skills to or English competency to claim points will be ranked below all others," says Ms Chaman Preet.

    Iscah Article

    http://www.iscah.com/changes-points-test-november-2019/
    Changes to the points test from 16th November 2019

    Changes to the points test from November 2019 –

    The amendments introduce a revised points system for the subclass 491 visa as well as existing General Skilled Migration (489,189,190) visas. Points are awarded for attributes that are linked with the applicant’s ability to make the greatest economic contribution, as the key purpose of the skilled migration program is to maximise the economic benefits of migration to Australia.

    The changes to the points test are to introduce:

    · more points for having a skilled spouse or de facto partner (10 points);

    · more points for applicants nominated by a State or Territory government or sponsored by a family member residing in regional Australia (15 points);

    · more points for having certain STEM qualifications (10 points);

    · points for applicants who do not have a spouse or de facto partner (10 points); and

    · points for applicants with a spouse or de facto partner who has competent English (5 points).

    To later obtain Permanent Residence (visa 191) you will need to :

    – hold a regional provisional visa when they apply for the Subclass 191 visa, and have held that visa for at least three years;

    – have earned a minimum income for at least three years as the holder of a regional provisional visa; and

    – have complied with the conditions of the regional provisional visa.

    There will be a NEW ordering system for ALL points test applicants as follows …

    If all other points claims are equal, invitations for points tested visas will be ranked by the Migration Points Test as described below:

    · First – primary applicants with a skilled spouse or de facto partner

    · Equal First – primary applicants without a spouse or de facto partner

    · Second – Primary applicants with a spouse or de facto partner who can demonstrate competent English but does not have the skills for skilled partner points (age and skills)

    · Third – Primary applicants with a partner who is ineligible for either competent English or Skilled partner points. These applicants will be ranked below all other cohorts, if all other points claims are equal.

    Other Notes
    If you are granted this New Regional visa you cannot be granted any other permanent visa of any skilled category for 3 years.

    You are free to move to other states but you must reside in Regional Australia until qualifying for Permanent Residence

    Mga ka-pinoyAu, tanong lang po sa mga napagdaaanan na yung visa lodge process. May question kasi dun about "Have any of the applicants lived in a country other than the primary applicant's usual country of residence?" Nagkaroon kasi ako ng 4month stay dati sa other country pinadala lang ng work, though sa hotel po ako nagstay the whole 4 months, tingin nyo po need ba sya ilagay?
    Salamat po sa mga sasagot.

    @Supersaiyan I think mas mdali na magkaron ng 80+ pts yung mga single and those who have a skilled partner.. ang worry ko lang, baka lalo nila itaas cut-off pts lalo na sa accountants and auditors. Haha.
