    2. Pag winter we dont use heater instead we use 2 blankets at night :)
@JCsantos; I just saw your post - yeah, we never used heater pretty much during winter (except for around 3 nights wherein one of us ni misis got sick); we just made use of a very think goose down blanket which we brought from SG and lotsa hugs. AHahaha!! :)

hehe maybe because in the U.S. its not fashionable to wear UGGs. :) thanks for the input... you in Oz already?
Not yet...

Mga more than 30 - 50% ang kamurahan kahit i add nyo pa postage.

Isa pang tip eh mag intay kayo ng financial year-end or after Xmas maraming sale.

Tapos kung gusto nyong magpasyal sa Sydney eh pag linggo merong Sunday Family Funday ticket sa Cityrail $2.50 each lang (basta me kasama kayong bata). Magagamit nyo sa train, ferry, bus. Two weeks ago nga eh nag Sydney ferry cruise kami at nagpaikot ikot sa city kasama turista kong bisita for the total sum of $7.50 hehehe.

One thing we have learned during the past 7 months that we have lived here is that prices of good are generally much more expensive here in Australia. However major retail supermarkets such as Coles and Whoolies do have promotions for certain brands every week. Having said that, it is very important to know what are on offer in your nearest supermarket chain.

Several months ago, bumili ako ng 2 sacks of rice (5 kilo bag) as it was on 50% discount. Same goes for our shampoo, canned goods, toothpaste. Lahat ng mga ito, we do not buy at regular price and rather, we just wait to a sale and then hoard.

Aldi is another shop to watch out; brands are not know (in fact, makikita mo na parang gumagawa ang Aldi ng mga famous brands) but they are good enough naman for consumption.

Oh yeah, house brands lang ang dish washer namin and laundry detergent; it just cost a measly $1 for a 2 liter bottle. Very big savings if you compare it to branded variants. It works well naman for us so ayus lang; bumabawi nalang kami sa fabric conditioner.

    Hope these helps!! :)

^agree ako with your tips. Aldi is a good brand, even aussies like them. hehehe It's actually from Germany and sila din may-ari ng Trader Joe's sa US. Kaya ok ang products nila and very competitive ang prices.. :)

Yup ok tlga to buy in bulk pag on sale ang items sa Coles and Woolies, malaking tipid.

You can stay up-to-date via the brochiere's and catalogs that is sent throught the mail .. kami tinatago namin at nag checheck kami kung saan mura

alternatively you can browse shops ... kami every week kahit wala kaming bibilhin namamasyal kami .. window shopping to the max ...

sometime nakaka stamba kami ng closing down sale .... like buy-one-take one

same as you like rice yung ( 10kilo sun rice medium kami ) sa coles normally its 22$ ... pag mag sale sya as low as 14$ sya so kumukuha na kami ng 3 bags ... it's like 24$ savings na kaagad

    Google for Everything !!!

Ung samin namn pag nag 50% discount ang rice 15 bags kaagad ung binibili namin.. Sobrang laki ng matitipid.. Den tamang tama lg na pag ubos na nkasale namn ulit. Sorry lakas namin mag rice ehh, 9 ksi kmi sa isang pamilya..hahahaha..Den halos home brand na ung binibili namin, at hintay ng mga sale bulk buying kmi agad.

In regards with clothing namn, mostly online aq bumibili. Mahal talaga kasi d2 samin kasi regional area xa.

Guys, magtatanong ako about Salary Packaging.

Meron kasi sa company namin na Superannuation or Car Novated Lease.
D ko pa alam paano to makaktipid with regards to Tax.

@peach17, ang salary packaging is one of the best benefit a company could give to their employee. Sobrang laki ang matitipid mo dito. Here is the example how it works.

    Salary w/out salaray packaging
    Weekly pay: $1000
    less tax (10%): 100
    Take home: $900
total tax paid for the whole year is $5200
total pay for the whole year is $5200
$52000 is not considered as low income, so in applying tax return $5200 less than 70% take home tax return will be $1560.

    Salary with salary packaging
    Weekly pay : $1000
    salary packaging: $600
    less tax (10%): $40
    Take home: $360
total tax paid for the whole year $2080
total pay for the whole year is $18720
$18720 is considered as low income so total amount of tax you had paid will be refunded.

With salary packaging, it's shows that you haven't paid any tax to the government. With the amount you salary packaged you can use that to pay your house rent, car repayment, supperannuation.

    Hope this helps.
