@FotsBarbs - masyadong malawak ang tanong mo.. hehe.. my answer is depende sa type ng visa na apply nyo... we can break it down into stages:

1) EA - approx 8-10 weeks.. sympre assuming na complete requirements nyo including IELTS
2) Kung mag apply kayo for State/Family sponsorship - depende sa state... merong days lang.. meron namang 4-8weeks..
3) Lodging of visa application
- Independent 175 - mga average 6-9months before a case officer will be allocated
- Sponsorship 176 or mga Regional - mostly 4 weeks lang may case officer na..
4) Last stage - medical and police clearance .. will depend on your cases.. kung maayos lahat mabilis na..

know your your visa type.. tapos add mo lahat yan... mostly yan ang total average time...

BTW, may idea naman siguro kayo how it goes sa gobyerno. prob kasi ng husband ko now is, mech eng'r nga sya pero iba ang job title nya. you think it will create some prob sa assessment nya with EA?

@FotsBarbs ok lang un, as long as ung work nya mechanical engineer. Read thoroughly EA booklet and use it as a guide.

@FotsBarbs - EA will base their assessment on the job description, work exp and educational degree.. kaya importante na matching ang lahat ng mga ito..

check nyo yung ANZSCO code and description ng Mech Engr... and then try to check kung fit yan sa current job description ng asawa mo...

hi guys, Patulong po sa pagpili sa SOL. Graduate po ko ng ECE at may 2 years experience sa field operations ng isang telco and currently network engineer sa telco provider ngayon for 1 year na. Di ko lang alam kung Telecommunications Engineer, Telecommunications Field Engineer or telecommunincations network engineer ang inonominate for assessment. Thanks

@davos_uno, try to check this one http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/ ,search mo lang yung potential nominated occupation mo then check mo job description kung saan closely related yung experiences mo then yun ang inominate mo.

@davos_uno Hi sir! ako po telecommunications engineer yung assessed sa occupation ko ng EA. Ano po bang equipment ang hawak nyo? if Operation and maintenance po of Telco equipments baka po sa Telco engineer kayo mapunta. wala naman po kasi problem kung kahit ano sa Telecommunications Engineer, Telecommunications Field Engineer or telecommunincations network engineer ang inonominate for assessment. Pili ka lang sa isa at kung di naman pasok yung job description mo e si EA ang magsu suggest kung anong suitable occupation yung para sayo. Like in my case yung nomited ko po nung nagpasa ko sa EA ng skills assessment ko is Electronics engineer pero nung na assess na nila yung skills ko mas suitable daw ako for Telco engineer kaya iyun ang binigay nila sakin sa skills assessment ko.

@k_mavs operation and maintenance po ng nokia 3g dati hawak ko. tapos ngayon po is cisco routers. Scheduled na sa end of may ielts ko tapos currently preparing the needed documents.. makakahabol pa kaya ako or better to wait for the new rules nalang?

@davos - if you will be assessed by EA, kailangan may IELTS together with your other documents..

@davos - make sure complete na documents mo, especially if you need to make CDR.. eto ung medyo mahabang iprepare...

looking at your timeline, medyo kakapusin na oras before Jul1.. but don't be bothered by that.. ituloy mo lang lahat ng applications mo (IELTS - Skills Assessment).. and then pag tapos na yan lahat.. apply na sa DIAC .. or Skill Select kung after Jul1..

malay mo mas favorable syo ang Skill Select.. goodluck..

Tuloy mo lang po kahit abutan ka ng new rules. Di ka na kasi aabot. need mo yung ielts sa Skills assessment. then prepare mo muna yung CDR mo.
Parang pwede ka kasi sa Telecommunications engineer or Telecommunications network engineer.

@lock_code2004 Thanks hopefully mas favorable nga.May sample or form po ba kayo ng statutory declaration? Di din kasi ko makakuha ng detailed COE pero willing naman pirmahan ng supervisor ko kung meron statutory declaration

Hi @davos - technically its not called stat dec pag hindi Au citizen/PR ang pumirma..

"If you are outside Australia and are unable to get an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident to complete a statutory declaration, Such statements are not statutory declarations under Australian law. However, in accordance with policy, they should be witnessed or certified according to the legal practices of the relevant country."

However, for skills assessment purpose, pwede na ang COE with detailed job description na printed sa blank paper, mas mabuti kung meron kayong company letterhead.. then sign ng supervisor mo, get a copy of his/her ID, or passport kung mas okay.. then have it Notarised..

Hi! Salamat sa mga advice finally just got My positive assessment last week. Lodged my CDR last March 7, 2012... so approximately 10 weeks and processing.

I also didn't have COE as per the required format. My company only provided the COE with job title and salary so I submitted Statutory declaration signed from the Australian Embassy along with the COE and other proof of employment.

Hi guys I just got my IELTS results and got 7.5 overall band score. equivalent ba ito to just 10 points or can be rounded off to 8 for the point system in DIAC?Thanks

Reply to @davos_uno: It doesn't matter kung ano yung OBS mo. Whatmatter is that if you got 7 on all subtests the you get 10 points for diac. There is no such thing as rounding off your scores. If you get an 8 on all subtests then you can claim 20 points for it.

hi, ask ko lng po magiging valid pa rin b ung assessment to Engineers Australia and application ko for PR kahit n matapos n contract ko d2 as 457 visa holder? 1 year lng kc contract ko at matatapos n this coming october 2012..please advice.thanks

@grace024: very good question.. here is what is stated from EA FAQs:

How long is the assessment letter valid for migration purposes?
Whilst the assessment outcome will remain valid indefinitely, our understanding is that DIAC mandates that the assessment notification be no more than 5 years old at the date of migration application. If you require an updated letter of assessment after this time, you must return the ORIGINAL letter to the MSA office together with a completed Admin fee payment form

Reply to @lock_code2004: Sir, ayus talaga mga info nyo ah. By the book talaga. Migration agent ba kayo? Yung sa EA yata di naman sila masyadong strict. Wala naman silang binigay na validity dun sa assessment natin.

Reply to @k_mavs: Thanks k_mavs...mejo hesitant kasi ako sa assesment kasi kulang ako sa points. 60 points total lang maabot ko. Any advice sa next steps .. may first cousin ako sa sydney pero wala yata marereward na points kasi non-designated area sya.Advisable ba na ituloy ko assessment or dapat sure muna na makuha 65 points.

Reply to @davos_uno: Yung IELTS nyo po sir is 7 on all subtests? Why not apply for state sponsorhip? Pwede pa po yung telecom engineer sa WA.
