Pero totoo yan very sensitive ang pinoy... Hahahaha. Parang tayong black americans, ok lang i a fellow black american makes fun of them pero if a white does it naku big problem yan.

Ang pinoy mahilig mag make fun sa sarili pero if some other race does it. Yan hingi ng national apology agad! Hahahaha!

Racial tension will always be present. I have been living in Australia for about 3 and half years and I haven't experienced being attacked or discriminated because of my race. What I experience the most are offensive side comments for example when I first arrived here and I made a comment about how much birds there were outside, my sis-in-law replied saying "dont you have that much birds in the Philippines? why is it because they get eaten?" and because where I live there a lot of filipina women who are married to australians who seem to have been labelled "mail order brides" and a couple of girls at my work will say degrading comments about "these women" while I'm in the same room as them (nagpaparinig).

If you do hear stories about racial discrimination here its mostly against the aboriginal and torres strait islanders, you have to do a bit of reading about it to fully understand how it all came about. I have met filipnos here who have adopted some misconceptions about the aboriginals and I do correct them like not to say "Abo" and not to say things that are degrading to them around aussies.

In saying that, I think na-adopt ng mga pinoy dito yung discriminitative attitude sa pinas like "promdi" "bisaya", or "baluga" those terms are considered very racist if you think about it. And when I used to work with chinese sa pinas they feel more superior compared sa mga pinoy even when they were born in pinas.

Australia is a very politically correct society and so people here are careful with the language they use so even if you think one is racist unless that person said " I cant hire you because of your sex, race, religion or cultural background" you cannot just accuse her of being racist or discriminating.

well I was at Jolibee SG kanina, I believe its just type "hype" kaya ganon , madaming tao.

Anyways, I personally think hinde tatagal JB dito, bka max 2 years. ksi

    1) Wla silang HALAL license for the muslims
    2) Singaporean don't like sweet food , they mostly appreciate spicy food
    3) Puro kababayan ang nag wo-work , kaya nag complain mga locals
    4) Hmm.. yung mga well off na pinoy once wala na yung hype, mag JB nlang yan once a month when they go to lucky plaza. so... ganon.

Well as for me, withdraw ko na 10 years cpf ko , tapos December pasko pinas, tapos UWE AUSTRALIA na ako... bye bye singapore.

I believe what we should know is where we draw the lines of being truly discriminated on like being spit on or not serving you in restaurants or anything. Well far behind that line, I think we shouldn't care less about anything. It just makes us looks too sensitive. Yes I know that we should not let other races treat us like crap but sometimes we just have to let some things go and move on and maybe in the end we'll be able to accept those as facts or jokes. Actually it really doesn't matter as long as we live a happy and contented life.

By the way, I don't know about Caucasians but some Asians are more racist towards Filipinos based on my past work experiences working in two different Asian countries and some accounts of you here about SG. Well we Filipinos are no good either and I think we should start changing.

I heard this from a friend of mine from California, "Too much Nationalism leads to Racism, that simply caused the Holocaust". Perhaps he was right..

I think yan po yung nabalita sa diyaryo na bawal Pinoy sa China...There are laws in Australia forbidding such racist actions against other races so we should not worry about it

    1. napakalupit natin magdiscriminate ng mga bisaya, salitang inday is a well respected word in the visayas but not in Manila and Luzon.

racism is everywhere, kahit sa SG meron. Pero up to us panu hahandelin ang situation. Pag may racist kang kapitbahay nanasasyo panu mo sosolusyunan. Either mawin mo sila or makaaway mo sila.

Australia is proud of its diversity so expect to meet a lot of people from different background but if there are fair skin australians who would ever direct racism act towards dark skin like me. Isa lang ibig sabihin nun, they are idiots and dont know the history of the country.

Australia is nearest to Asia but consider themselves Brit. just saying.

Kahit saan ka man mapadpad.

They're more biased against other, umm, more perceived 'aggressive' cultures. At least that's the case in Sydney.

Yes meron khit saan nman ata eh, were here na for almost 4 years pero di nman kmi nkaranas ng grabe discrimination saka wag ka pa apekto sa mga ganyang bagay instead prove them kung ano ang meron ka, dito sa work nmen mostly Australians pati yung mga boss so far ok nman cla bawal nga dito yung racism and bullying pede mo ireklamo, ung ibang company they want filipino workers kse masisipag and fast learner marunong pang mag english compared sa ibang asian countries, even yung mga real state dito pag uupa ka dito sa suburb nmen preferred nila pinoy kse malinis sa bahay at marunong magbayad, kya dpat lng tlaga as Pinoy we should prove them na ok tayo para ma gain natin respect at confidence nila sa lahi natin :) isang bagay na matutunan ko dito yung pagiging straight forward kse ganon mga puti wala paligoy ligoy, kung karapatan mo yun speak up kse di uso dito pakiramdaman, lhat ng transaction mo put it in writing mahirap asahan ang words lng, saka be smart minsan mga schemer yan ok pagkaharap kya we should learn how to go with the flow :)

They're more biased against other, umm, more perceived 'aggressive' cultures. At least that's the case in Sydney.

I've only had a chance to have a vacation in Sydney for three weeks and so far yun naging basis ko if I'll take a chance on migration. I look like an average Filipino & even the Filipino guy working at Central station recognized us & ng tagalog agad! Wish me luck na lang on my road to permanent residence :)
