Possible Reason of Student Visa Being Denied

Hi! I'm new in the forum and I just visited an education fair yesterday. They asked about my circumstances and I gave them a short background.

I'll be starting from scratch when I study in Australia. The course that I've chosen (carpentry) is way different from my undergrad course (psychology) and my current profession (selling online).

They advised that my student application visa might get rejected because of it. Is this true? If yes, is there a work around for this?

You need to prove to immigration that you are going back to the PH after your studies. I have known people who studied communication in PH but shifted to nursing here in AU, so it really depends on how well you present yourself and your circumstance. Proving why you want to study carpentry and how you will benefit from it should be your main focus.
