Visa 485 - Post Study Work Stream (2-4 Years)

Hi, all.

For those that have applied for the said stream recently, how long before you received a CO confirmation? or you were assigned a CO? It has been almost 2 months na and wala pa rin kaming CO. I guess this is normal, right?

iyong akin 1 month lang inabot from lodgement to grant, that was last year. normally mabilis ang processing times nila provided na complete lahat ng docs. check kung nagbago processing times nila sa website.

We applied December 27, then 2nd week of Feb na kami nagkaron ng CO.

I reckon, okay yan para mas matagal validity ng 485

@superluckyclover Thanks for insight. Was just wondering if pwede na ba ako kumuha ng OVHC kahit valid pa ang OSHC ko? OSHC expires this June 2019, while student visa expires this March 2019. Was planning to get the OVHC only when I am assigned a CO na pero baka ito lang ang hinihintay din nila noh?

I think health cover is an important requirement for 485. Tawag ka lang sa mga health insurance providers like BUPA, NIB, etc. parang i-arrange nila para sayo yung insurance na need for 485. Di ko masyado alam technicalities for carrying over, but i'm sure super essential requirement yun while processing your 485.

@markier87 may OVHC certificate na kami nung nagapply kami ng 485 kahit valid pa iyong OSHC namin.

Hi guys! Tanong ko lang sa mga galing 485 bago nagPR. What if valid pa ang medicals? Magpa-additional test (blood?) lang ba para sa PR visa?

We had our medical kasi for 485 a couple of months ago and hindi kasama ang blood test kasi hindi pa ako nagexpect na maiinvite then for 189.

I would appreciate any feedback from those who had similar experiences before. Cheers!

@markier87 hi, they have asked us to do the medicals again ( including the blood test) but not the xray. 3 months apart iyong lodgement ng 189 visa at iyong grant ng 485 namin.

@markier87 nagmedical kami after namin naglodge. better do reschedule after you lodge para makita mo kung ano iyong kelangan niyo irepeat. may portion kasi dun sa lodgement where you need to input iyong previous HAP ID ng recent medicals niyo.

Help!

I was supposed to lodge our 189 today kaso when I was filling up the lodgement page, I was prompted about my current 485 lodgement. Sabi since wala pang decision sa 485 ko, dapat ko muna iwithdraw ito bago ako maglodge nung 189?

It's been more than 60 days since 485 lodgement and until now, initial assessment pa rin nakalagay. Would you guys suggest for me to wait for the 485 result bago ko ilodge ang 189 ko?

I would appreciate your two cents in this. Cheers!

I just realised that I forgot to press the confirm button after uploading the additional requested documents. Kaya siguro ang tagal nung grant. LESSON LEARNED huhuhu

HELP!

Today is the 75th day since lodging my 485. According to processing time, 61-75 days so should I just wait pa or send them a "client feedback" na? Is it possible na may nangyari? or denied?

I already started my 189 application pero did not continue kasi nga may message na "if you continue, you need to cancel the pending visa application".

@markier87 I saw an article online na parang kulang ang immigration officers ngayon then dagsa ang 485 applicants. Ang tricky ng situation mo. Did you ask for professional advice na? Rare case ito (I assume)

Well, mali pala ang bilang ko. It's 105 days na since Jan 24 so lampas na pala masyado sa 61-75 days na nakapublish na processing time nila. I sent a client feedback na asking for some clarification on the delay. Sana may response na bukas para malodge na rin ang 189.

@markier87 I encountered that you "need to cancel the pending visa application" when i was applying for 485 visa before. nung inask ko sa technical support, sabi nya you can still proceed with the application but you need to cancel iyong pending application. in my case health undertaking lang naman iyon kaya it will cancel itself out pag nagmedical na kami.

iyong sayo baka kasi magoverlap iyong grants if sabay sila na nasa system.
sana maapprove na iyong 485 mo.

@agentKams Ahh I see, thanks for the insight. I just called DHA, sabi nila na estimated lang nman daw yung published processing times so may possibility talaga na lumampas. But then I mentioned na sana mafinalise na kasi aalis pa kami so magbabayad na nman ng BVB.

Ayun, sabi nung agent wala naman daw nakalagay na cause of delay, processing pa rin daw so maghintay lang daw. I mean if there is an issue, dapat naman may nakalagay na note.

Also, this is the 2nd CO contact na. Iba yung sa first (babae) tapos yung latest lalaki na. Sana lang hindi kapabayaan ang cause ng delay.

@markier87 ayun, according sa isang article na nabasa ko, DHA is hiring more case officers dahil sa backlog ng maraming cases. Kaya din siguro controlled ang invitations ngayon dahil wala silang enough manpower to handle cases.
