    hi everyone!

i have been following this thread for a while now.
i just want to ask few questions and hopefully someone may be able to help.

i have 2 EOIs in SkillSelect, both visa 190 but different states.
now i received a pre-invite for my 1 EOI but they offered me 491.

if i am going to accept this, and they will process the state nomination,
will i still be able to receive a pre-invite from another state
(which is linked to my other EOI and provided i followed the state requirements, e.g. submit ROI)?

because i am planning to buy some time, and maybe will be invited for 190 from different state.
i am not sure if this will work.

    1 for SA and 1 for NSW/VIC
the 491 offer is from SA.
the reason na hiniwalay ko sya, ksi prefer ng SA na sila ung selected state.
my question is, if ever accept ko ung offer and get nominated,
then utilise ko ung 60 days lodging sa SkillSelect,
may possibility kaya na makareceive pa dn ng pre-invite using my other EOI?

That’s pretty common. States reserve the right to choose the visa type they want to nominate an applicant under.

Thank you Ms. @RheaMARN1171933.

You can check dito bro ang average visa processing times for visa 491. Usually, nag-uupdate sila monthly.

    https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/skilled-work-regional-provisional-491

There is always the possibility bro. Pero it's really a case-to-case basis. Wala na tayo magagawa once ma-submit natin ang visa application. Nasa kamay na nila ang mga kapalaran natin :)

Good luck bro! Dasal lang! :)

All depends on workload of the case officer.

May add'l query po ako, for those visa 491 (Skilled) holder, paano or saan po kayo nakahanap ng accommodation and employer? For regional areas, parang mas challenging po kasi maghanap.

Also, before flying to Aus, nakahanap na po ba kayo ng employer & accommodation or mismong sa Aus na po kayo naghanap? Thank you!

Kung mag-isa ka lang or couple kayo with no kids, try to rent a room in a shared house first. It's not ideal pero mahirap kasi to get your own house or flat rental pag offshore kasi hindi nagpaparent unless na-inspect ng potential tenant yung property muna. Also, very competitive ang rental market ngayon so mababa ang chance to get a unit if you don't have a job & can't give local references.

Flatmates & Gumtree are okay. If you prefer Pinoy housemates you can check the Pinoy AU group for your state. Usually may nagpopost dun ng vacancies.

Dati I tried applying for jobs before I came here pero walang pumapansin. When I got here I kept on applying lang online & also got a volunteer job related to my profession. Nakakuha naman ako ng job in my line of work in about 2 months. Kailangan lang matyaga mag-apply kasi maraming rejections before makakuha ng interview. Make sure you reformat your CV to the Australian format and check din kung may mga specific requirements for your occupation like local licenses or certifications. Kung meron, try to get those as soon as you arrive para malagay mo sa CV.

Kung kaya, I would suggest that you bring enough for 6 months na walang job. Iba-iba ang experience sa job hunting, some get a job faster than others. Kung mas malaki ang baon, mas makaka-focus sa job hunting kasi hindi pinuproblema ang bills. Job hunting is a full-time activity din when you're starting out kasi hindi uso ang generic na CV and cover letter dito. You have to keep tailoring these to fit the job ads, kaya makain sa oras. If needed, you can start out with any job that you can get. Yun nga lang, if totally unrelated to your profession then this won't really count towards local work experience but it will enable you to give a job reference later on & of course, help pay the bills.

I think $10k for 6 months is reasonable. Ang recurring expenses would be rent, food, mobile phone line, transportation & utilities kung hindi ito kasama sa rent. Depending on where you live & what kind of job you get, you might also have to get a car early on. Kung may kotse, aside from the cost of the car you will also need to pay for gas, registration & insurance.

Thank you po for this. Will include it in my preparation.

Hello everyone! Ask ko lang, Na-completed ko na ang Master of Professional Accounting studies ko and may certificate of completion na ako last December. I am now on Bridging A visa while my Temporary Graduate 485 application is being processed.

Di ako sure sa next steps towards applying for 190. Kumpleto naman ako ng docs including PTE and medical. Can anyone advise kung ano ang tamang next step? Maraming salamat.

i would say, should be in the following order:

    1. assuming you have already the necessary docs (work reference from previous jobs, educational docs), you can already get a skills assessment from CPAA or CAANZ
    2. while waiting for the result of the skills assessment, get the necessary police checks (PH, AU and other countries were you resided with substantial length) ung sa PH, NBI clearance eh sobrang tagal bago ma process. kung PR 190 ang aapplyan mo, hindi chinecheck ng state ang police clearance, so may ample time ka pa na makuha to for the purpose ang DHA check.
    3. Once the skills assessment returns with positive results, you can now create an EOI through skillselect. make sure that the points that you will claim will be supported by docs, as applicable.
    4. you need a pre-invitation from state for PR 190. in my case, i paid AUD330 when i was invited by NSW. I submitted all my docs except for police checks. make sure that if docs needs to be legalised/authenticated here in AU, please do so. they will also require proof of residence such as bank statement (showing your recent purchases/payments) and utility bill
    5. Once you receive the positive result from the state, makakatanggap ka naman ng ITA from DHA.
    6. You will need to submit the same set of docs you previously submitted when you were invited by the state + the police check + pay for the necessary fee. Automatically pag nag apply ka, another bridging visa will be issued to you.
    7. Once application is completed, waiting game starts.

Police clearance, be careful with timing as well as medical. These are time sensitive documents. I usually advice clients to sort this last.

yeah that is right. i only advise him to get the NBI clearance since it is longer to get from PH (maybe around 2 - 3 months) plus the 12 months effectivity. but yeah plan this carefully as for NBI clearance, ang start ng effectivity is kapag na generate na ung report, and not from the time it was delivered to you nor to your representative na kukuha/rereceive ng clearance.

as for medical, he said na meron na sya, so hindi ko na binanggit. but this one depends on your case as well. one of the questions when applying after receiving ITA was when was your last medical check for visa purposes. dun nila dedetermine kung need mo ba ng bago or not.

I was only replying as a general guide/clarification as others are reading the posts too. Police and medical certificates have 12 months validity regardless which country it’s from. I’m not trying to debate nor antagonise what was posted.

Ms @RheaMARN1171933 thank you for the advise, I appreciate it. I applied for my NBI last year as I was already in the embassy in Canberra to renew a passport at that time, so I thought I might as well do it while I was there. I also have the AFP one last November. I had to extend my student visa and DHA requested for my medical. Ano po usually expiry ng said documents?
