Also upon arrival sa airport, bumili na agad ako prepaid SIM card (Optus) just bring your ID around AUD30 (may credit na 30), pero you have to activate or kung bibilhin mo mismo sa telco shop paactivate mo na sa customer service rep, most transactions from Medicare to Centrelink, bank required and telephone number.

Yung skills for All, kudos to @ringo, Skills assessment assistance po ito sa mga migrant workers. Magbibigay po sila free orientation about job counselling, resume tailoring (Aussie style), interview tips etc. Though free, kailangan po kumuha ng appointment based on available schedules, bring your credentials, passport, visa grant, transcript, etc. Pwede rin po sila magprovide ng secondary re-assessment, if you may recall may migrant assessement po tayo at the beginning for our oZ journey, for IT it is ACS, bale yung assessment naman is makita kung ready na for market. Also, nagbigay ng tip yung assessor ko sa Skills for All, iadd daw natin sa CV natin kung ano qualifications nakuha natin based dun sa Assessement ng ACS, i.e. comparable to AQF Bachelor Degree , makadagdag pogi points at mas pansinin ng mga recruiters.

For skills for all, you have to come physically sa office nila, in Adelaide, sa gilid po sya ng Immigration at 55 Currie St. opposite ng Medicare.

hello, share ko lang experience namin. kadarating lang naming yesterday. today, the eto mga ginawa namin today: applied TFN online, registered at centrelink (binigayan kami ng online access para mafile na yung mga assistance na pwede namin makuha), registered in medicare. nag email na sakin un taga medicare ng medicare number nmin then ipapadala na lang daw un cards (requested for duplicate para sa wife ko) sa address ko.
nagpunta din ako sa NAB knna kaso joint account yung savings namin sa kanila so need daw un wife ksama ko, e di ko ksama nun nagpunta kami sa supermarket knna may NAB kasi na malapit, nag inquire ako baka pwede iactivate yun account kahit hindi sa main branch, kaya nagpa-appointment ako for tomorrow. then may interview kami with an agency na niprovide ng centrelink, baka makahanap work hehe we just bought sim cards also para update resume. job hunting will start tomorrow

thanks sir @TasBurrfoot! we are staying at Sunshine West with my relatives. temporary palang, hanap nalang ng house siguro pag nagkawork na isa sa amin. so far, enjoying this area. lapit kasi sa bus station, train station at shopping centre like sunshine marketplace, coles, at highpoint

I also applied TFN online but before that I called ATO on how to apply for TFN. The one who answered told me that I have to go to the taxation office sa docklands after printing the form. Pero pagdating ko dun, sabi nung front desk pede daw sa online since hindi naman ako Australian Passport holder. Ayun, nasayang lang oras ko. Oks na din, at least nakapasyal sa docklands.

Sorry kung natanong na to… i was trying to back read the thread…umabot na ako sa page 20 pero medyo mahaba pa e…Ask ko lang sana…
- Pagdating niyo dyan prepaid lang talaga ang sim na pwede bilhin? HIndi pa pede mag postpaid hanggang wala pang work? HIndi be enough na meron kang credit card?
- Also, kung prepaid lang, meron din bang data plan na parang prepaid?

My wife will go to Adelaide on Monday, thats why I'm asking kasi alam ko need sa pag asikaso ng ibang papers na meron kang phone number. Btw meron na kaming Medicare and TFN na naasikaso namin before nung nag initial entry kami.

- as far as i know, kailangan ng source of income para makabili ng post paid plan.
- for prepaid sim, yes meron namang data plan, kailangan mo magload monthly.. example virgin mobile. 29aud for 1GB data + some minutes of calls + text.. valid for 30days..

If you're not yet employed in Oz and you'll be applying for postpaid plan, you are required to provide bank statement or utility bill statements with your Australian address.

For prepaid as per lock_code, me data nang kasama yun. For optus, $30 - 500mb data, free sms and call to optus no. just like Virgin or Vodafone. You can check their website for the rates.

Yung Skills for all, once punta ka sa Adelaide office nila, hanggang appointment lang muna then balik ulit for the assessment assistance na? If yes, 1 to 2 days lang po bA makakuha ka ng appointment slot?

question: nagregister na ako sa medicare at sa mygov, e nalink ko na rin dun ung sa medicare, as advised kanina ung nagpunta ako...paano po ung sa paglink naman sa centrelink? online lang daw un to register...

also, in my case, since state sponsored ako, may pinirmahan akong state sponsorship agreement...need ko pa bang magpunta ng DIAC to submit the state sponsorship agreement?

Skills for All.

Every last Tuesday of the month lang po ito available so habol po pag may slot pa.

TFN

We have some rumours na may bayad na AUD75.00 or you have to download, print and fill-up form then submit for Post, di po yan considered true. First of all free ito then second since we have access naman to internet apply online (https://iar.ato.gov.au/IARWeb/default.aspx?pid=4&sid=1&outcome=1), and nakita ko diskarte once applied, keep the reference number then call them after few days to obtain your TFN, no need to wait for the email.

Centrelink

For Centrelink no. or CRN, this is straightaway application online, but for online claims For families, you can apply for Family Tax Benefit A or B, make sure andito lahat family members sa Oz kasi macheck nila yan kung 'Offshore' or 'Onshore' via Vevo. Kung may namiss tayo na benefits na pwede maclaim sila na magdecide nyan. The process if very long, kasi verification pa yan at minsan hindi guaranteed na may approve depends on your circumstances and information provided. Make sure 100% true ang nilagay nyo details.

Kami until now wala pa rin outcome nung submission ko last 19 July

P.S. Kelangan may Medicare and TFN na before you can lodge a Centrelink.

NewStart Allowance

Di po ako 100% sure ilan ang minimum tenure of stay in Oz bago ka eligible to claim, as far as I Can remember parang 52 weeks yata, not sure po...

Renting a House

Importante po sa kanila yung Inspection kahit gusto mo na yung house via online, kasi pag nameet mo Agent may form na ibibigay, in exchange aside from identification like passport, kelangan may proof ka kaya mo bayaran yung rent lets say in 6 months term, kung may latest overseas statement account from International banks like Citibank pwede na po yun. Finding a house is like applying for Job, may ka-competition ka na gusto rin yung house, at the end yung may ari mismo ng house ang magdecide. But you have to persistent, you have to explain your situation, and iguarantee from agent na kaya mo bayaran and good maintenance kayo..and as always pag may inspection times agreed be on time, from may experience malate ka lang ng 15 minutes pwede na sila umalis, pero kung may reason tawagan mo sila in advance and say you're on youe way

@IslanderndCity yes boss...less than an hour lang ung sa medicare...then bibigyan ka ng linking code for the mygov...tapso once nagcreate ka na ng mygov account, ililink mo ung medicare mo sa mygov account mo thru the linking code na binigay sayo ng medicare...then online na lang din sa centrelink registration... :-)

Nag apply ako newstart allowance at tinwagan ako before na subject daw sa residency period un na 2 years same with concession. Ung family tax benefit wala pa dn result samin, 35 working days processing. July 4 pa ako nagpasa. Kaso may work na ako at makita din savings ko, baka d dn me makaclaim kasi nibabase dn pla nila sa savings mo un. Kung may enough pera ka pa daw d ka dn bbgyan )
