@elec_popon hello! meron akong friend na couple where ME ung husband and nurse din ung asawa. mas mabuti ikw mag principal pra dependent mo nlng sia..once ur both here and since she is a perm resident, its easier for her to start her career her as nurse. since ma gastos ang bridging course nila around 13k aud (and may balita na indi na 3months ngaun, mgging 6months na), for sure it will be more costly.

    goodluck!

Hello po sa lahat! taga Abu Dhabi ako and been here for almost 10yrs. My wife is already 7weeks pregnant to our 1st child. Yes may mga kaliwat kanang sale sa mga malls at very comfy ang lifestyle rito (im working as electrical engr & wife is a govt nurse).

We started our OZ application last week i will be the principal applicant.

(i have 12yrs exp, 9 yrs si misis).

@elec_popon Bro I have been in AUH din for quite a while na. It's actually my birth place. hehe. It's were I grew up, studied KG, elem up to secondary education, started my career as an RN din. I have been an RN for 9 years and making the big move this month na din. As a 457 visa muna then pagdating nalang dun lodge agad ng 189. (Gamitin ang end of service from UAE. This is of course based on your wife's professional experience din (area of expertise, number of years, level of educ. etc.) As early as two weeks palang nung bridging, ang dame ng tawag and both phone and skype interviews. basically inaantay nalang nila macomplete yung course and maregister kana sa AHPRA. To be honest mas marami pang tawag talaga kesa dito sa AUH na halos araw araw apply. Sa govt hosp din ako base (SEHA). It's also an easy pathway for PR since taon taon more than 16k ang ceiling ng RN's of different specialty.

I have seen UAE at its peek and sadly, its turning the other way around. Nakakalungkot din because I consider this is as my 2nd home. Pero yun nga, life must go on, di na tayo pabata. hehe at least sa Aus, makikita naten yung worth naten and how equal we are with everyone.

Just want to share. Nagkakwentuhan kami ng kawork ko, we talked about migration, and I steer the topic towards Oz. He rather stay save and retire in the Philippines. Wala siyang idea that I am preparing para lumipat, but wow that hits me. Hahaha.

@mgfg, oo nga. Though kung tingnan mo yong monetary side, medyo you will feel reluctant talaga lalo sa start up. Pero sa longterm narin yong iniisip ko, with the assumption na Oz will offer an equal oppurtunity for all. You have seen Oz life na dyan, hows is it compared to Dubai Bro?

Flexible ang working hours ko dito, pwedeng work from home or flexi time kasi output driven.

@RoseG thanks for sharing your experience. anong industry kayo ng hubby at saang State? Hindi ba mahirap ang BIG move nyo may kasama ba kayong anak and if you don't mind magkano ang baon nyong pera (approx).

I think many people now chose to leave UAE considering the cost of living here, lahat nagtaas na, ang sahod na lang ang hindi nagtataas plus magkakaroon narin ng 5% tax.

Any advice from both of you?

@bluerocky, Hello, sorry super late reply. We are residing in the city of Melbourne. Si hubby sa IT software. Childless kami so mas nadalian kaming kumilos and for the first month of our stay, nkitira muna kmi and ng rent ng room sa kapwa Pinoy. When my hubby got his offer sa city, nghanap n kmi ng malilipatan sa city.

In regards to expenses, it really depends sa lifestyle and sa bahay talga. Average meal sa labas is 10aud so it's like 30Dhs.

Sa baon namin pera, I would suggest approx 7k AUD assuming na 1,500UAD gastos nyo every month. Malaki na yan. Makakagalaw kyo ng maayos. Enough na yan for 6-7months to survive ng wala pang work.

    Rent - 250/wk
    Food - 80/wk
    Mobile - 80/wk
    Transpo - 8/day - max (trains)

    Hope this helps!

@MikeYanbu Walang anuman, Mike! :) If one of you got a job, madali na yan.

    God Bless!

IWASAN nyo po mag compare ng aud to dirhams or aud to peso.

Nah... it is human nature to do that but yes you are correct in some ways...

It will come to a point though when the realisation that you are now REALLY LIVING in Australia, that is probably the time the comparison stops.

@TasBurrfoot Agree! ;) You just need to compare initially so you'll have a better analysis
of the cost of living. ;)
