Good morning everyone! I am planning to buy the gold kit today, anyone who knows a discount voucher/link? So that I can use it also. Thanks!

@batman I am doing my best to implement your recommendation to speak/write/think in english hehehe!!! Thanks!

@sticky_note Si sir @batman claimed to have used that code and getting a discount. Pa-verify naman sir :)

About accommodations, I booked in El Rico Suites which was quite a long and stressful walk towards Trident and eventually even more stressful if you drive because of small and one-way streets. But this is cheap, considering suite na yung ibibigay sayo. I suggest if you find The Columns in Airbnb, go for it because it's nearer, although nung time ko wala akong makitang offered na rooms sa kanya. Otherwise, study the map of the area, and be willing to walk na lang or take a cab.

@mrfifi88 Not sure if this is true for everyone, but yes, the actual is easier for me :) The gold kit is actually a good training, the questions there are unique and I didn't encounter it anywhere else. Again, not sure if others can say the same thing.

@mrfifi88 yes I have to agree as well. I scored 65 and 68 on reading sa mock exams. In the exams, I got 78. Although my overall for my second mock test was higher than my actual PTE, I think the actual exam is easier. almost sure, if you get everything in the moch test at around 60, most likely 65 ka lahat sa exam. if you get around 70 sa lahat sa mock test, most likely 79 ka sa lahat sa actual

@mrkanncpa i used PTE2015 discount code for the exam fee not for the gold kit.
    @michel_75 that's great.

To all why don't we set that RULE to only use English language in comments here in PTE thread for us to practice using English, We can ask @Admin to make it official for the rule to have some teeth.

i had to edit my comment because of the english only :))

i think the reading part is also tricky especially the multiple answer part. i think it is better that you just choose one which you are sure is the correct one and omit choosing another if you are having doubts about it. That part is write minus wrong. Better be safe and gain a point than lose all right?

@michel_75 thank you for the support :)
@vylette I also heard before some opt not to answer that part. They prefer to be zero than to get negative score. This is not verified if they really do it in actual.

In listening also there is right minus wrong. Highlight incorrect words.

hi @batman i took the test again yesterday and your template really did wonders for me! thank you :)

unfortunately, my reading component was now my problematic part...i got 75 :(

    here are my scores

    W 90 L 89 S 81 R 75

and i am thinking that the multiple answers is the culprit. i remembered having doubts about some of my answers there but i still went and selected them. This is really disappointing for me but I have no other choice but to soldier on.
Any suggestions for the reading part is welcome. what do you think, should I just opt to omit the multiple answer part?

by the way thank you again for the template :) :) :)

@vylette wow that's great to hear! I rather give at least one answer, for sure you will have at least one obvious correct answer. If you cant get all the correct at least a point is better than ZERO.

@batman ok makes sense. thanks! i am planning to retake the test again probably a week or two weeks from now. :(

I read someone here was asking if it is possible to write down the template script for the describe image. actually that's what i did :))

what i did for this was during the read aloud part, i realized that the time given for practice before the recording starts was more than enough for me. So for every item of the read aloud, i write one line of the script in the notepad. for example, 1st item of read aloud...i used the first five seconds to write down "therefore this graph", then for the 2nd item of the read aloud i took 5 seconds again to write " is particularly useful" i did this until i was able to write down the whole script. :))

i know this is allowed because i read the terms carefully and it is indicated there that the only time that you can write on the notepad is only AFTER the test begins. So techically during the read aloud i can write on the notepad freely.

I hope this is a bit helpful to those who are struggling with the speaking part :)

hi @vylette that was my dilemma before, if I should just go with the answer that I am sure about. But apparently, according to the PTE book, if the answer to the question's suppose to be multiple (like 2), answering only 1 would still result to getting 0 points as the other 'correct' answer would be counted as a wrong answer if you did not select it. There is also no negative marking applied. Minimum score is 0.

"READING: Multiple choice, choose multiple answers

Read the instructions carefully. Remember that more than one option is correct in this type of multiple choice item.

You will score marks for any correct options but you will lose score points for any incorrect options; these include:
    • options that you have clicked on as correct but which are wrong
    • options that are correct but that you have not clicked on

If you click on all the options, because you do not know the answer, you will lose score points. This applies to Multiple choice, choose multiple answers item types for reading and listening."

@michel_75 thanks :) but i still have to retake it because i am aiming for a 79 score per band.

    My essay questions were :

Information revolution has changed the way of mass communications and had some negative and positive effects on individual lives as well as on society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Television has many useful functions to play in everyone’s life, some people use it for information and others for entertainment. Discuss your viewpoint and support your answer with examples and discussion point.

Otherwise, study the map of the area, and be willing to walk na lang or take a cab.

thanks! @mrkanncpa i'll keep that in mind those accom you've mentioned. I've planned to sit for the pte exam next month and I'm happy that the code is still valid. I've taken the ielts for the hundredth times and I always get 6.5 in my writing. this is my most dreaded module. :-q hopefully, I will be able to get a better score in pte...thanks guys! everyone here is so helpful and inspiring. keep on sharing!

@Asha I've checked that one as well, but its quite expensive :( but thanks for the suggestion. I'll use the code when I book online for the exam.
