not sure eh.

I declared that I had TB 10 yrs ago and was treated for 7 months. From then, always napong normal every year ang xray ko. Dineclare ko po yon kanina. Naworry lang ako kasi although wala pang official results kanina, pina repeat xray ako same day for a different position kasi may bone daw at hindi nla makikita. May nakaencounter ba nang ganito? Baka pinarepeat ako dahil they want to see if I have a scar dahil may history ako at baka wala talagang nakita sa first xray. Nakakastress din dahil baka may makita tuloy. Haaist..:(

Sputum culture is already done and repeat xray will be this week. Anyone knows or has experience how long did you wait after the repeat xray to get the grant? Assuming no medical issues na...

@chicornb wala pong notifications usually 2 to 3 days po. directly po sinusubmit ng clinic sa dibp ung medical results. you can check your immiaccount for the status of your medical pag okay na po dapat ang status is "health clearance provided- no action required".

@PMPdreamer We have the same case. Last October 19 I got negative results from my sputum test (8-week culture), but my 2nd X-ray results show "slight" or "small" regression of fibrous spots on my right lung. The recommendation of the SLEC pulmonologist is to wait for another 3 months and take another X-ray for another evaluation (so this is around January 2018 na). Pero sabi nila, they will still submit the medical results to AUS embassy within 7-10 days (I asked them to expedite this) and it will be up for the embassy to decide.

@inhinyero16 im a little confused po with your timeline. Pinag te-take ka po ba ng medication? Kasi parang it doesnt make sense to wait for another 3 months and do 3rd xray without taking any medication. Parang, how would it change your result? eto po yung timeline nung saken

    Aug 3 - medical exam
    Aug 24,25,26 - sputum collection
Aug 31 - smear test result negative
Nov 6 - i will know the result of culture test, then take 2nd xray

Saka kelan po kayo nag take ng 2nd xray? Same day po ba ininterpret din yung results sau?

    @PMPdreamer Here is my timeline:

July 18 - Medical exam at SLEC BGC for visa application (Temporary Activity Visa Subclass 408). I submitted to them my previous X-ray results from last year (different hospital; September 2016).

Aug 3 - I was informed by SLEC BGC that the AUS embassy is requiring sputum testing. I confirmed this from my application status in my online Immi account. Automatic sputum test yata pag may abnormal findings sa X-ray results. For my case, I think it is residual fibrosis on my upper right lung. I know these from my previous check up and X ray last year, although hindi ito sinabi sa akin ng pulmonologist ng SLEC BGC.

August 17,18,19 - Sputum collection at SLEC Manila

August 23 - Smear results are negative.

October 19 - 8-week culture results are negative. I took another X-ray examination, tapos same-day ang evaluation ng pulmonologist. Sabi niya, there is slight/small movement or regression ("lumiit") of fibrous spots on my upper right lung. This is evidence of "activity"; that means hindi stable ung fibrous spots. Medyo nakipagtalo ako sa pulmonologist as I tried calling it a stable lung scar. Pero according to her, it is not stable kasi nga daw medyo lumiit or nag-regressed compared to my X-ray finding from SLEC BGC 8 weeks ago. I told her I didn't take any anti-TB medicines on the last 8 weeks. Kasi wala naman ako ubo or sipon. I am only taking Vitamin C tablets daily. At saka baka dahil lang ito sa magkaibang X-ray machine ng BGC and Manila (he he). Anyway, still, she can't conclude if the fibrous spots are from TB or not. I think ang nilagay lang niya sa report ay slight regression of something on the upper right lung. Tapos recommendation niya is to wait another 3 months tapos re-take ng X-ray. No need to take medicines during these 3 months (October 20 - January 19).

According to the SLEC Manila nurse, it will take them 7-10 working days to upload the results on Immi account. I requested them to expedite the process, as I am scheduled to leave PH on November 24. According to AUS guidelines, it is up for the AUS embassy to decide on this. But there are also cases when the embassy will ask the applicant to fulfill a health undertaking (I have read this from the guidelines) tapos sa Australia na lang ang health monitoring. Although the slight regression is a proof of activity, I hope the embassy will still allow me to go via health undertaking this November.

Ngayon, if the embassy follows the recommendation of SLEC Manila, then I have to take another X-ray on the 3rd week of January 2018. If the X-ray result is still not stable, then SLEC Manila will recommend to the embassy a 3-6 month medication. Then another X-ray ulit.

Hello, everyone. Been lurking on this site for months now. Very grateful for the tips I get from a lot of users here. :)

Anyway, my wife and I are done with our medicals. I was cleared by St. Luke's on the results. But for my wife, they found suspicious marks in her CXR, and their recommendation is to have the Sputum test. We're still waiting for the possible go signal from the DIBP. Hope they won't recommend this and just clear us (but reading from previous posts, it is unlikely).

Just a question. After undergoing the 3-day sputum collection, are we restricted to travel during the 8-week sputum culturing? Or are there any restrictions while waiting for the results? We're just preparing just in case my wife will undergo the test as we have a scheduled vacation to the US in December.

@patpapat The only restriction that I received before is that I am not allowed to take anti-TB medicine while waiting for the results of culture test. I guess any change in size and shape of suspicious marks in CXR after 8 weeks will cast doubt on TB activity.

@inhinyero16 pano kaya nila nalaman yung size kung lumaki or lumiit? Mejo subjective and pano kung prob lang sa xray, pano nila irule out? Biruin mo mag aaksya ka ng 3 months for nothing just to get the same results?

@PMPdreamer I applied for visa 408 for a 6-month postdoctoral study in Canberra, and I am already behind in schedule. I am scheduled to leave last August 4, pero dahil sa sputum collection, I decided to move my trip to November 24. I decided that if the AUS embassy will follow the recommendation of SLEC Manila, then I will move my trip to July 2018 na, just to provide ample time for medication.

Nalaman nila kung lumaki or lumiit by visually comparing your current and previous X-ray results. Sa case ko, una they compared my X-ray last September 2016 and July 18, 2017. And then SLEC Manila compared my X-ray results ng July 18 (from BGC) and October 19 (from SLEC Manila). The pulmonologist concluded there is slight regression after 8 weeks.

Of course, they will not admit the significant difference in X-ray machines. I do not know (and I am not trained) how to read X-ray results, so I really do not know how to conclude significant changes in suspicious marks.

As proof kung nag take ng medication o hindi, I think makikita yun sa X-ray. That is why I didn't drink milk minutes before the X-ray exam. Kasi kung biglang nag-clear ung marks sa X-ray result mo, lalo yun magka-cast ng doubt sa evaluator na you did something during 8 weeks.

Yes, I do hope they will just require me to take a health undertaking. I also hope SLEC will not find anything suspicious to your X-ray exam on November. Good luck to us!

@patpapat Good luck and God bless! Enjoy your US vacation!

    Hi everyone,

Ask ko lang sana kung meron ba dito nag apply ng subclass 189 (independent skilled visa) as a Registred Nurse with a history of PTB?

I was diagnosed in February 2012 then I’ve completed the treament in September 2012. Di ko kasi sure if DIBP will approve it since I’ll be working as a nurse.

Sputum culture is already done and repeat xray will be this week. Anyone knows or has experience how long did you wait after the repeat xray to get the grant? Assuming no medical issues na...

@Shakespeare23 sakin 4 months after repeat x-ray nakuha ko na visa. :)

@patpapat i think wala naman restrictions.. during 8-week sputum culture ko, 3 times ako nag out of town sa Visayas and Palawan.

Usually 5-7 days lumagpas sila ng 1 day kasi natambakan sila bec of long holiday.
