    @sunflower we've stayed there for 7 days. Mahal accomodations kaya good thing that we have friends and families where we can stay with during the trip. Actually hindi padin ako makapaniwala na granted ang visa until nakalagpas na kami ng immigration. Sa VEVO lang kasi malalaman at iba ang feeling ng old timers na nakatatak ang visa sa passport haha.

    @Liolaeus I guess you need to apply for a long term pass or parents subclass visa pero minsan may maswerte na nakakakuha ng 6months or a year of stay na visa, not sure how though.

    @thegreatiam15 haha pasensya na at sharing lang of what AU will bring to you once you get there! Maserte tayo at nakita at na experience natin on what it is to live in SG and how we have grown here. Don't worry about your partner and your kid kasi for sure kasama yan.

    @rohani99 game ako diyan habang andito pa lahat!

    dito i agree kung waley work babay back to PIRIPINS na sobrang well alam nyo naman bakit tayo nasa labas bakit tayo lumalabas at bakit tayo umaalis

    siya nga pala question ko sa inyo?

    ano ang karaniwang sagot ninyo kapag may isang Pinoy crab mentallity na sinasabi bakit ka nagmimigrate pero hindi mo mahal Pinas kasi aalis ka?
    let me rephrase the question

    "mahal mo Pilipinas pero bakit ka nagmimigrate or aalis?"

    para sa akin hindi naman natatapos ang pagmamahal sa tinubuang lupa dahil lang sa umalis ka or nagmigrate. Sa totoo nga tinuturing pa nilang bagong bayani ang mga OFW which is for me is a major face palm. Ansarap pakingan "bagong bayani" nabigyan ng titulo dahil sa dami ng $$$ na naipapasok sa Pilipinas ngunit puro pasakit at pahirap ang binibigay naman satin dahil sa OWWA/OEC, Travel tax. They might protect a few of our fellow countrymen from illegal recruitment pero bakit hindi nila solusyunan ang pinaka ugat na problema which is education and yung pagpayag nga na mag invest ang dayuhan sa bansa natin para magkaroon ng maraming trabaho. Kaya siguro nila ayaw ayusin ito dahil mas gusto nilang maraming tao na nabrainwash sa delusyon na sa kanila dumepende, sa halgang Php500-1000 nabibili ang anim na taon nila sa pwesto. Second generation na ako sa pamilya namin na OFW at ayaw ko na maranasan ng anak ko ang lalong pahirap na magcommute sa traffic, araw araw na buwis buhay kapag nasa daan, deprivation ng magandang edukasyon at healthcare which is mahirap isipin na mag iimprove ito in the next 5-10 years. Kaya tayo nasa sitwasyon na ito ay hindi dahil lang sa sarili natin kundi dahil sa future ng mga anak natin. Mahal natin ang Pilipinas ngunit maraming tao ang mapagsamantala at nalamon na ng systema kaya tayo humahanap ng lugar na patas ang labanan, uunlad ka at makikita mo ang iyong pinaghirapan. I guess maiintindihan naman ng Pilipinas kung bakit tayo lumalayo sa kanya na nagdurugo ang puso... AWTS! haha

    I agree about the visa label part! Haha. Yung CFO sticker na yung pinaka-malapit na proof sa passport natin eh! Have you heard about CERS (Certificate of Evidence of Resident Status)? Yun ang nireresearch ko ngayon eh. Anyway, kelan kayo babalik uli sa Oz?

    RE: "mahal mo Pilipinas pero bakit ka nagmimigrate or aalis?"

    Wala pa namang nagtatanong saakin ng ganito. Tuwing may nakakarinig na magmimigrate na ako, parang hindi na rin sila nagugulat kasi alam rin naman nila kung gaano kahirap makapag-ipon ng pera sa Pinas.

    Oo, kailangan ng Pilipinas ng mga magagaling na guro para matulungang mas maging edukado at maimulat ang mga mata ng kabataan. Bilib na bilib nga ako sa mga gurong pinaninindigan ang trabaho nila sa Pinas, kahit gaano pa karami o gaano kakulit ang mga estudyante nila. Nakakalungkot at nakakahiya mang aminin, hindi ako ganoon ka-martyr tulad nila. :(

    Saakin, pansariling rason lang talaga kung tutuusin kung bakit ako aalis: para sa mas magandang kinabukasan.

    @sunflower @jandm @markbarquin

    may naiinggit kasi saken dito sa SG na magmimigrate ako pinaparinggan ako especially kapag nagkakakwentuhan totoong motive hindi ko alam.

    "bakit ako magmimigrate wala naman ako publema sa pinas? mga ganyan nagpapasikat lang yan para masabi lang na australian o nakaalis ako pareparehas lang yan!. >> umabot pa sa

    nageenglish kayo sariling wika nyo tagalog anung klase yan walang pagmamahal panuorin mo to o sabi nang korea bakit daw sila umunlad kasi kulang daw sa pagmamahal ang mga pinoy sa Pinas" >> actually hindi ko alam bakit kami umabot dito.

    yung totoo walang pinagugatan tong bagay na to maliban sa nalaman lang na ayun nga magmimigrate ako may mga tropa ako interested din mangibang bansa or take it to the next level pero ang simpatya ko nasa kanila kasi marahil alam mo alam ko alam nya ano mga reasons namen bakit ayaw natin sa pinas.

    d ako sumasagot kapag ganitong mga bagay kasi alam kong ibang level talaga pinapasok ko hehehe. : )

    ang hirap anng buhay sa pinas ako nasa end palang ako nang twenties ko buti naisipan ko to!

    sa tinagal nang stay ko dito sa SG na 4 years kita mo agad ano diperensya sa pinas at sa SG d uto uto ang tao pag ayaw nila sa gobyerno ayaw nila.

    pero so far maganda kasi talaga pamamalakad dito.

    hindi ako after sa pera sa totoo lang kasi end of the day im sure magaagree mga may pamilya dito at may mga anak anak na.

    hindi naman kung ano ibibgay mo sa mga bata ang maaalala nila syempre yun ang time spent at opportunity na ibinigay mo sa kanila.

    syempre sa OZ daming quality time high standards nang living at kahit siguro 85% generally safe i choose oz kesa pinas. d ako marunung magdrive pero sorry to say madaming bobong driver sa pinas kasi nga relax ang licensing. basta pera bigay na d baleng maaksidente iba publema nila yun.

    pero kung safe usapan SG talaga pinaka matindi : ) dito pwede pakawalan mga bata sa playground e sa pinas asa kapa madukot pa baby mo.

    Hindi ko pa naaasikaso yung money matters, pero I'll do the NAB route most likely. Since mag-isa lang akong magttravel to Oz, medyo nakakatakot kasi na dala ko lahat ng pera ko hehe. Bank transfer parin yung safest option. And so far, nung nagcompare ako dun sa Big 4 banks, NAB lang yung walang monthly maintenance fee forever. Balitaan ko kayo dito sa forum kapag nagawa ko na siya. Ikaw ba, kelan mo balak asikasuhin to?
    hi @sunflower, ito kaka apply ko lang thru the online application sa migrant banking ng NAB. nabasa ko kasi 7 days daw un processing ngayon dahil maraming applications. same here, mas safe ideposit kesa on-hand, nakakapraning kasi kung me dala kang malaking cash, laging paranoid.

    @m0t0k0 nag open ka ba ng account sa kanila?
    I opened an account from their online. so pag dating ko dun by April i activate ko na lang. pero di pa ako nag dedeposit.

    hi @raiden14, just applied online now, ito un easy part, i think ung pag bili ng AUD and remit to NAB un medyo kailangan iresearch pa. baka mid-March ko pa gawin itong remit part, and will avail the services of i-Remit or BPI, depending on saan mas makakatipid. magbalitaan tayo about remitting, medyo nakaka kaba kasi gawin

    @sunflower nakakuha nako ticket ng cebu pac for May so yun na ang big move. Nobody woukd hold any grudge about your decision. Alam naman ng lahat na ang systema ang problema.

    @thegreatiam15 Ang tanung sa kaibigan mo eh bakit siya naging OFW din kung mahal na mahal niya ang Pilipinas, kung wala pala siyang problema sa Pilipinas eh bakit siya nasa SG? Hindi basta basta ang pagmigrate, pinaghihirapan ito para makuha. Kapag may ganyan akong kaibigan eh unfollow or filter ko na kaagad yan as restricted. Haha

    Hay nako, yung mga ganyang tao, kahit ano pang sabihin mo, meron at meron parin silang ma-ookray! Wag mo nalang sila pansinin, batchmate.

    @m0t0k0
    Nakapag-apply na rin pala ako as NAB and nareceive ko na today yung Welcome Kit from them. Tatawag palang ako sa bangko ko (BPI) kung paano ang sistema nila ng pagttransfer ng money. I agree, nakaka-kaba talaga yung transfer part. Sana hindi ganun kalaki yung makakaltas sa pag-wire. :/

    @markbarquin
    Thank you! Tama naman, at may kanya-kanya naman tayong rason para sa mga bagay na ginagawa natin. Good luck in May! Mas mauuna kayong makapag-settle. Balitaan nalang tayo dito, batchmate. :)

    Got the visa grant! Thank you sa mga inputs na natutunan ko dito plus the virtue of patience. In God's perfect time, dadating din talaga ang hinihingi natin..

    Nawindang naman ako sa tanong na hindi na mahal si Pinas kung mag-mimigrate. Napaisip din ako. Pero dito ko din naman ipadadala ang kinikita ko kaya pano ko masasabi na hindi ko na mahal? Kung parehong walang angat sa bawat isa, bakit hindi ka naman lalayo para hanapin ang swerte? In the end, sa mga kapwa Filipino, ang long term plan is to settle down back to Philippines kasi mas tahimik at panatag ka dun. Sa ngayon, nagpupunyagi lang para magawa ng maayos at matiwasay ang last dream na magland back sa tinubuang lupa.

    Hi @sunflower great hear that, anu un welcome kit, physical mail or documents ba ito? Ang nakuha ko lang kagabi is email confirming my submission, walang sms yet.

    Base sa research ko dito sa forum, me mga nagmemention na mas mahal ang selling rate ng AUD sa banks when compared to remittance companies like iRemit or Western Union. Once makausap mo un BPI and they give you the rate for Php to Aud on a given day, you can email iRemit to get their selling rate for the same day at [email protected]. If the rates are significantly different, then we can choose the better rate. I plan to do this comparison next week or so.

    Please note that I have NOT done this myself, and cannot vouch for iRemit, etc just yet however @TasBurrfoot who is one of the moderators shared her experience using the iRemit approach in the other thread talking about how to bring money to Oz.

    Email lang rin yung sinend saakin, batchmate!

    Ahhhh ganun ba? Sobrang laki daw ba ng difference ng BPI pati iRemit or Western Union? Kasi kung hindi naman, I think I'll still opt for the bank route para hindi ako maglalabas at all ng pera.

    Pero anyway, sige dadaan ako ng BPI nalang mamaya. I'll also try to do my own research hehe.
