    @Liolaeus
Nung nag-tour ako sa Australia last year and naka-roaming ako sa Globe, nagconnect siya sa Optus, so doon palang ako may experience. Baka mas makapag-comment pa yung ibang naka-try na ng iba't ibang mobile provider.

On another note, ang isang maganda sa sistema sa Au na napansin ko, kapag meron ka nang mobile number, iyo na talaga yun, kahit magpapalit-palit ka pa ng mobile provider (unlike saatin na magbabago number mo pag nagswitch ka from Globe to Smart to Sun hehe).

Nag-wire transfer ako straight from BPI to NAB. Nandito nakalagay yung rates nila:
    https://www.bpiexpressonline.com/p/1/872/forex-rates

As far as I know, yung receiving fee ay nakadepende kung magkano yung ittransfer mong money. Less than 7000 AUD yung sinend ko and then mga 15 AUD yung fee na kinuha ng NAB.

Since wire transfer naman yung gagawin and direct siya, so no need to buy Australian dollars. Pero kung magpapapalit ka ng PHP to AUD na cash, kailangan mag-order at least a week in advance. :)

Nag-open ako ng NAB Classic pati iSaver.

Optus din first choice ko kasi kala ko mahal ang telstra. Meron palang $30 lang. Check ko din plans ng telstra. Hehe

Hi batchmates! Nasa mood ako mag-research dahil phone/prepaid plans ang topic. Please take note na kinuha ko lang yung lowest offer for each mobile provider, and pare-pareho naman silang may $30 plan. Also, eto lang talaga yung big 3 mobile providers, and apparently resellers na yung iba. So here you go:

    OPTUS
$30.00 per month for 12 months (Sim-only Plan)
    -1.5 GB data
-unlimited talk to local mobiles (Optus and other networks), landlines, toll-free numbers and voicemails
-unlimited SMS/MMS to national AND INTERNATIONAL numbers, including PH
-extra charge for international calls (22c per minute call to PH)

    Source: http://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobilephones/SimBYO

    TELSTRA
    $30.00 per month (Prepaid Plan)
    -1.5 GB data
-bonus 1.5 GB night data (for use bet. 8pm-8am, promo until 23 May 2016 only)
-$700 call credit (unlimited calls to Telstra mobiles)
    -unlimited SMS to Australian numbers
-$200 international credit for calls and texts
    -28 day expiry

    Source: https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/prepaid-mobiles/offers-and-rates

    VODAFONE
    $30.00 per month (Sim-only Plan)
    -500 MB data
-unlimited standard national calls (includes voice calls and video calls)
-unlimited standard SMS to local and overseas numbers
    -extra charge for international calls

    Source: http://www.vodafone.com.au/personal/plans/sim-only/state/month-to-month

So bale, very similar lang pala ang Optus and Telstra. Pero ang Optus kasi unlimited calls and texts to local numbers, unlike Telstra na meron lang $700 call credit. Nagkakatalo rin dun sa international call/text rates nila. Personally, hindi big deal saakin yung call and text rates kasi may Viber and Skype naman. Pero mas gusto ko yung unlimited international text offer ng Optus, so maybe I'll go with that. As for Vodafone, I am definitely not considering that haha.

    @sunflower

Medyo curious lang ako bakit karamihan ng kakilala ko nasa ACT ay naka vodafone i wonder if it has something to do with reception o kaya yung service provided ng mobile network.

I haven't lost everything except my mind...

Naku, batchmate, you'll have to ask them about that, kasi data lang ang mareresearch ko hehe.

And okay naman daw yung reception where she lives.

@sunflower Yung Dodo ok lng sya pag sa CBD. But if nasa province k n..naku walang signal...kasi naturally gusto mag explore sa Aus so mas importante may means of communication k.

Sa Brisbane k right? check m sa site muna if covered yung area mo. You can also google AU forums para mas tunay yung testimonials for Amaysim.
Ok naman yung Telstra but lately kasi dami nilang power outages. daming inis sa telstra. Consider Optus din maganda naman yung offer.
