feb 3 is the RBA decision, if they voted to decrease the rates then it'll be good for new migrants.

Tanong lang po. San po ba marecommend nyo na pwde magpapalit from SGD to AUD dto sa SG? We will be arriving in Australia to fulfill our initial entry lang. Ayaw ko na po sana mag acct transfer. Ok po ba sa Lucky Plaza? Any recommendation?

@andrew_bonn isa sa mga maganda ang exchange rate is yung money changer sa Bishan Junction 8. Basement level
Malapit kasi office ko dun at lagi kong nakikita yung exchange rate.
Lagi din mahaba ang pila, lalo na mga nagpapalit ng MYR.

Minsan din ok din ang rate ng POSB/DBS, not sure kung pwede bumili ng AUD sa kanila.

Not sure kung meron pang ibang maganda ang exchange rate.

Alam kong maraming klaseng savings account dyan at ibat ibang bangko. Hopefully ito yung tamang thread. Pero may alam ba kayong ING Direct? kung may nag open ba sa inyo ng savings account sa kanila? Insight lang sana kung saan pinaka magandang mag open ng savings account na less troublesome para sa paglipat ng savings from sg to Australia. Hopefully yung may mataas na interest rate na rin. O mas magandang magopen na lang ng ibang savings account na may magandang interest rate kapag nakapag settle na dyan sa Australia?

good day sir at ma'am!
plan namin mag move sa Au by end of March. before we do that, plan namin mag-open ng bank account. Gusto ko lang malaman if taxable yun i-transfer namin money during tax filing (assuming wala pa kaming work)?
Iniisip kasi namin kung iwan muna namin dito sa SG or i-xfer na lahat.
Sensya sa tanung but hopefully may sumagot.

@yosh10 it's better to transfer na your money lalo na mababa Au$ rate now, halos same na sa SG$. May tax sa interest gained mo. So, panalo ka pa rin.

Hi there, for those looking for other ways to transfer funds from SG to AU you can try Ozforex. There is no charge for fund transfers of amounts >AU$10,000. The spot rate is also better than DBS. Moreover Ozforex has a DBS bank account where you can transfer your SG$ to be transferred to your AU account in AU$.

Disclaimer: I am in no way related to Ozforex in any form. I just use there service and found it more attractive than DBS.

btw, i called up ofx.com. can't move the funds from sg to aus, if "im still residing in singapore". pero once i've moved to australia, then i can facilitate to pull of funds from singapore to aus.

Hi Guys, nag open na ang DBS moneysend sa Australia @ zero (0) service charge, Been using this to transfer money from SG to Pinas. I'll let you know pag nacredit na ung sa OZ ko.
Maganda ang forex rates nila.

this is true.. DBS had just introduced DBS remit to OZ..with free of charge and with a good rate..

For new migrants try opening NAB account online. Then from DBS to NAB nalang ang transfer, good naman ang rate and no transfer fees.
