@hotshot yaman! hindi kailangan ng CPF for migrating to australia. 20% per year ngayon sa pinas. :) mabuhay ang economiya ng pilipinas! heheh kidding aside, i'm planning to invest my CPF to equity in philippines because we have the strongest stocks in the world. we just attained 3rd place last june... in the world based sa Time magazine. sorry proud lang sa pinas :)

20% . laki ah!
anong mechanics paano mag invest? ehhehe is it guarunteed ba yan?:)

Agree ako kay Hotshot...for me the best to invest sa SG dahil sa value ngang pera dito.

Happy weekend everyone! I need an advise from our expert dito sa forum.

    Here's our dilemma:
Just received the IELTS result this afternoon & the total band score is 7.5, unfortunately, got 6.5 po sa Reading :(

We are considering 190 visa (nominated visa) with minimum points of 60.
Since we won't be able to claim points for our IELTS, we might only have a total of 60points based on the assumption below:

    Age (less than 32) - 30pts
    Work Experience - 10pts (5years)
Educational Qualification - 15pts (Bachelor of Architecture @ UST)
    State Sponsorship - 5pts

    Total: 60points

We are still waiting for the result of our skill assessment, I'm not sure whether VETASSE will recognize our above mentioned degree comparative to Australian study as bachelor so we will be able to obtain 15pts for our educational qualification.

For those who were granted visa, does your qualification recognized as bachelor or just a diploma? Coz if its only diploma, we are short of 5points, & will not be qualified for the 190 visa, thus, need to retake the IELTS exam.

If our university degree in Philippines can be recognized as bachelor, I will be able to claim 15points for my educational qualifications, therefore, we will be able to meet the minimum requirement of 60points. However, is 60points sufficient enough to be granted for VISA or our approval might be on risk?

Anyone of you were granted VISA for just 60points? Any inputs/insight will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance for your help.

    Godbless us all :)

@carla_glam - in relation to your query re: school, pls see below:

as per the website of Australian Education International, they give guidelines as to how section 1, 2 or 3 schools can be comparable to the educational level of the AQF qualification.

Usually kapag section 1, walang problema ka as they are usually comparable to a bachelors degree in Australia; worth noting are as follows:

Section 3 institutions can be comparable to a bachelor's degree in Australia if:
    (1) Bachelor Degree in a professional discipline with (a) 4 or 5 years full-time education, (b) 120-200 credits and (c) Evidence of passing the Professional Regulation Commission’s Licensure Examinations in the relevant professional field.

Section 2 institutions can be comparable to a bachelor's degree in Australia if:
    (1) Bachelor Degree with (a) 4 years full-time education, (b) 120-185 credits and (c) Average grade of 1.00 to 2.00, (A to B, or more than 85%)
    (2) Bachelor Degree in a professional discipline with (a) 4 years full-time education, (b) 120-185 credits and (c) Evidence of passing the Professional Regulation Commission’s Licensure Examinations in the relevant professional field.
    (3) Bachelor Degree with (a) 5 years full-time and (b) Around 200 credits.

Take note that if your degree is comparable to the AU bachelor's, it means 15 pts ka when claiming for your educational background.

highest growth tayo sa stock market, pero kpiranggot lng market size ng equity market sa pinas, hindi sa kill joy ako ha, ang 10% growth sa PSIX could just be equivalent of 2% growth ng SG equities in terms of value. Some of the news are media spin, but by all means mag-invest kayo dun, ako may equity index fund sa both countries. :)

To put this in perspective - Apple Inc (AAPL.US) is just one for the stock trading in the US; it's usual daily value turnover is in between 200Bn to 350Bn in peso equivalent.

The Philippine Market on the other hand has a daily value turnover of around 7 to 15Bn in peso terms...

    for clarification, i think marami nga po nalilito dito, lalo na sa pag-fillup ng EOI;
    - yung 5pts for education is study in australia for atleast 2 yrs.. so kung hindi nagstudy sa australia hindi dapat magclaim nito..

    - the other points (for the Educ Qualification-AU or recognized overseas), is where we claim the points based on the assessment.. "COMPARABLE" level to AU educational level.. so in this case, BS Archi from UST is COMPARABLE to AU BS Degree (which is 15pts)..

it's very important to understand this para hindi masayang ang oras..
if in doubt... just ask.. marami ang sasagot dito sa forum..

Hi @Aiwink! Arki din ako. What do u mean pinatanggal ng diac ang points for education? Kahit may points advisory from Vetassess for bachelor's degree sa Pinas (i also have master's dito sa sg included sa points advisory) kelangan tanggalin sa EOI? Thanks! :)

so napunta kme sa VETASSES as archi draftsman and when we received the letter that our educational background is qualified as comparable to an australian degree inapply namin ng points then we received an email from DIAC saying

    11 Sep 2012
    Dear ---------
You have been contacted by DIAC
This letter refers to your Expression of Interest (EOI) submitted in the SkillSelect system.
    Your EOI details are:
    EOI ID: -----
    Submitted date: 09 Aug 2012
    Full Name:---------
    DOB: --------
    Australian Study Requirement

    Dear Intending Migrant,
This is an announcement to advise you that a discrepancy has been discovered where intending migrants may have
    misinterpreted a question in SkillSelect.
A number of EOIs indicate that intending migrants may have incorrectly have answered “yes” to the following question:

Does the client meet the Australian study requirement for the Skilled Migration points test?
The Australian study requirements has a very specific meaning under Australian law. The definition of the Australian
study requirement is provided in the help text button link to the question.
To meet the Australian study requirement, your course or courses must meet all of the following requirements:
    • be registered through the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Course for Overseas Students (CRICOS)
    • have been successfully completed
    • have resulted in you receiving a degree, diploma or trade qualification
    • have been completed in a total of at least 16 calendar months
    • have been completed as a result of at least two academic years of study
    • have had all instruction in English
    • have been completed while you were physically in Australia at an Australian educational institute
    • have been completed while you held a visa authorising you to study in Australia
Any failed course subject cannot be counted towards the Australian Study Requirement.
Please be advised that if you cannot satisfy the above requirements you should not select “yes” when answering the
    Australian study requirements question.
Your invitation to lodge a visa application is based only on the information presented in your EOI
    If you lodge a visa
application and your points score is less than claimed in your EOI and invitation letter, your visa application may be
refused even if you are able to pass the points test or meet other threshold criteria.
If you receive an invitation and your points have decreased or your personal information is not accurate, you do not have
to proceed to make an application. You should wait for your invitation to expire and correct the information in your EOI.

As your EOI has been identified as one that may be affected by this discrepancy, we recommend that you review your EOI
and if required, update the information according to your circumstances.
For more information about claiming points please refer to our website at

ayan cut and paste ang letter.

let me know kung magulo or naliwanagan ka.

    Thanks @psychoboy, @aiwink & @lock_code2004!

Hi @aiwink, just to clarify, you were able to claim 15pts for the

    Educational qualifications
(Description: At least a Bachelor degree, including a Bachelor degree with Honours or Masters, from an Australian educational institution or other degree of a recognised standard)

However, during the time you applied for EOI, you said YES & claim points for the australian study requirements, so there goes the discrepancy of your application. Coz you can only claim points for this if you were studied in Australia & meet the requirements stated above. Upon re-submission of your EOI your actual points will reduce to 65points, coz you won't be able to claim points for the Australian Study Requirements (5pts).

So in my case, pasok po ako sa 15points since my university belongs to Section 1, thus, saktong 60points po ako. My next question is, do you think 60points is sufficient enough to be granted for visa & get state sponsorship? Or pataasan talga ng points ang labanan? Do I still need to retake my IELTS in order for me to claim points for it?

Thanks again to all your help!

    Cheers! :)

If you are applying for 190:
    - kahit 55pts ka lang, you can get a State Sponsorship (5pts), so in total you'll get 60pts... And once approved na ang SS, automatic na ang visa invitation for 190..
    - if you will be applying for SS (dahil ang occupation mo ay nasa CSOL 2), there is no sense in re-taking that IELTS to get more points.. dahil nga automatic na ang 190 SS visa invitation once approved na ang SS..
    - of course, assuming na nasatisfy mo din ang IELTS requirements ng occupation mo for that particular STATE..

if you are applying for 189:
    - then that's the only time na kailangan mo ng mas mataas na total points, dahil ranking at effectivity date ng EOI score nga ang labanan dun..

Answer "NO" to Australian Study Requirements, Kung hindi naman nag-aral sa AU.

And of course, you can claim for Educational Qualification, based on the results of the assessment..

@lock_code2004, super thank you po! I guess no need to retake IELTS in our case, coz we are applying for visa 190. Since we dont have claim points for IELTS, 55pts lng kame + 5pts for SS so pasok pa rin sa 60pts..thank GOD masa-save namen ung $300!

Buti nlang lenient ang WA sa IELTS, minimum 6points for each band lang IELTS requirement nila :)

God is sooo good all the time tlga! Now, waiting for the result of our assessment, hopefully we'll receive the good news soon pra mka apply na ng EOI & SS :)

God bless po sa lahat ng mga applicants, I pray for the smooth processing of our applications. Just continue to persevere, pray & trust in HIM..the answer to our prayer is on the way na po :) HIS timing is always perfect!

Sa mga walang sawa sa pagsagot sa mga questions namen, may God bless you even more for being a blessing to many of us here. Im proud to be a Filipino dahil sa mga katulad nyo.

    Cheers! :)

Yep. the 70points was after we took off the Australian Study Requirements.
