When you did your assessment sa assessing authority po, did they consider your certification/diploma course? I called up ACS for IT, they only consider higher education despite na we completed our degree sa Pinas.

you mean for 485? If i'm not mistaken (others may correct me too), eligible lang ang 485 Post-Study Work stream to those who completed higher education. Hindi na ako nagpaassess kasi di naman required sa 485 ko.

But if you're after for Graduate Work stream 485, then you are required to have a positive assessment. However, si ACS nag a-assess lang ng Temporary Graduate (TG) if you have completed an AU bachelor degree or higher. You may refer to their guidelines for more info.

Thanks @hikari. I actually saw that before sa check-list nila. Medjo confusing lang kase sa Graduate Work Stream sa immig site as long as magpapaassess ka sa assessing authority according sa nominated occupation mo. Then, si ACS they don't accept diploma course for 485 instead they only accept higher ed. IT-related then course mo? Why is it hindi na need assessment sa ACS for post graduate visa? Di sila tumatanggap ng diploma courses for 485 pathway unlike other assessing authorities.

Post-study work stream 485 kasi inapplyn ko since IT masters yung tinapos ko. Hindi required assessment para magapply for post-study 485. Ang requirement is macomplete mo yung program mo (bachelor or higher) na at least 2 academic years para maging eligible ka (regardless kung anong course kinuha).

I haven't done mine po since I will finish my studies on December pa. I am on a packaged course na Cert III and Diploma in ECEC for 2 years which makes me eligible din sa 485 visa, based on my research and experiences din ng friends ko of the same course. I'm still really not very knowledgeable sa whole application process but the Immi website gives a lot of information about this. You can refer to this website po, https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/temporary-graduate-485/australian-study-requirement.

Anyone who just lodged their 485 visa Graduate Work Visa? naglagay po ba kayo ng proof sa lahat ng addresses na nilagay nyo kahit sa pinas? or pwede po yung present address nalang dito sa Australia? tsaka need pa po ba ng NBI?

    Thanks po!

Puro au docs lang sinubmit ko and police check dito.

May existing valid medical report ako bago ko ilodge yung 485. Pero para sa wala, after 485 lodgement dun pwede maggenerate ng hap ID for medical. But im not sure kunt automatic or manual nagccreate ng hapid. Agent ko kasi gumawa nung nagpaextend ako ng SV ko.

Generally when applying for a visa, you will be asked to show proof of health insurance coverage/policy for the validity of your visa (if you are applying for a 2-year visa, you need to have health insurance that covers that 2-year period). Purchasing the health insurance is essentially a requirement before visa lodgement. You need to pay for the insurance to get the policy number you will include in your visa application, and Home Affairs will not finalize your visa grant until you've provided them with the insurance policy details.

@gzabala dagdag ko lang sa sinabi ni athlene, in my case when I applied for 485 visa (post grad visa), hindi required na bayaran ang insurance for the entire period. first month lang binayaran ko. Not sure if it also applies to 482. As far as I know, full payment of insurance only applies to student visa holders. Others may correct me as well in this matter.

Yes for student visa entire period babayaran. Pero for working visa is per month and you can pay the first month as proof of purchase. Kase nag apply yong friend ko ng covid visa, ovhc din ang health insurance.

Yup, alam ko pwede nang month-to-month ang health insurance pag non-student, but I think the policy will have to show the start and end date of the coverage. You can provide the insurance provider a target date of entry, and if your travel plans get pushed back after getting the visa, you can contact the insurance provider about your actual flight date so the policy will be adjusted to the date that you will get covered (upon arrival).

Some general and extra advice (not related to visa), if you need to get any dental work done (pasta/filling, root canal, wisdom tooth extraction, etc.), I highly recommend to get them done in pinas because those procedures are very expensive here and they're not covered under the normal health insurance or OVHC kasi optional procedures sila. I just had a root canal done a few months ago and it cost me AUD$2000 (di ako makauwi sa pinas kasi sarado pa yung border) :'(

If you have eyeglasses, magpagawa kayo ng second pair sa pinas, 'coz it'll cost you at least AUD$40 for a cheap pair (plastic frame), even up to AUD$250-400. The day after I arrived in Australia, my eyeglasses got broken and I didn't have a backup pair. I spent AUD$ 80 for a cheap plastic pair, and it takes at least a week to get them made here (unlike 2-3 hours lang sa Manila, especially at Quiapo). If you are based in Dubai, check mo kung mas mura ang mga eyeglasses dyan compared to Australia (I buy mine from Specsavers).

These are some things that most temporary migrants don't think about, and magugulat nalang kayo na super mahal ang mga ganito dito :(

These are some things that most temporary migrants don't think about, and magugulat nalang kayo na super mahal ang mga ganito dito :(

thank you sa tips! πŸ™‚ cge bibili ako 2nd pair ng eyeglass bago mag Big move .. buti na mention mo about sa eyeglasses πŸ™‚ i didnt purchase the health insurance yet. ill just pay for it once i get the visa nomination but i have been emailing the agent already thanks sa mga tips din dito sa forum

is the insurance refundable just in case di ma grant ang visa? pero of course sana ma grant talaga

I think refundable naman sya, depending on the provider. For example, HCF specifies on the website that you can cancel your policy, but the first month is nonrefundable. So just confirm with your selected insurance provider about their specific policy in this case para sure before ka magbayad.

When you did your assessment sa assessing authority po, did they consider your certification/diploma course? I called up ACS for IT, they only consider higher education despite na we completed our degree sa Pinas.

Hello @jacqbrions, any update sa application niyo po for visa 485?

    Hi!
I graduated from UTS and Deakin. Sa UTS I have my middle name on all documents while sa Deakin, wala po.
Do I need to request for new documents sa deakin?
I will be applying for 485 visa this month.
Will this be an issue if wala middle name ko sa Deakin docs?
    Hope you reply po.
    Thank you
