@RyanJay thanks! I'm starting to lose hope na rin kasi since it's going to be my 3rd time na. I have been thinking whether to take the exclusive exam offered by niner or just take it from another country like hong kong or thailand.

@filipinacpa tama si chu_se. Wag bibitaw. Ako nga naka 4 takes bago ko pumasa. May nakita pa nga ko sa net 12 times na nagtatake lumalaban pa din. Perseverance at dasal lang. Kaya mo yan.

Yikes!.. I just read the requirements and it says "Passports with holes are not valid" as an ID for IELTS. I just renewed my passport and the ones they have on file is my old passport (with holes). I tried updating my passport details through the website, but it's already locked. Just sent an email to them hopefully they'll let me take the exam this Thursday!

@filipinacpa - Same tayo ng morale going for 3rd take na rin ako. I'm planning to retake on Oct. 18 which I will call it "IELTS - The Last Stand" lol. Last week I told myself ayaw ko na but knowing na I'm not the only one and there were success stories after their failures. Kaya natin to haha!

I guess this is the right time for me to go over this thread while I'm waiting for the ACS result.

One thing that I think could help us increase our chances in passing the IELTS, specially the writing and speaking part, is by using/practicing it regularly. While posting in Tagalog is normal here, I think it would be beneficial for everyone if we write our queries and answers in English

Thanks everyone for your motivations! The most possible time I could be successful in my application will be next year. I will be earning 60 points that time even without getting 7 in all bands of ielts. I hope by that there will be no major changes. I'm quite nervous and scared too. Haha

@mlac23 this is my 3rd time na.. yung first time ko prang 1 month lng yta tpos wla akong review center, yung 2nd time - mga 2 weeks lng but with review center.. Tapos prang I realized time tlga ang kulang with my first 2 exams kaya I'll make it mga 2.5 months naman this time.. I'll take my exam on Oct 18.. sana this time oks na..

I've read from someone here mas mataas daw binibigay na rate IELTS components if it wouldn't be taken here or in any country wherein English is not there first language compared when u took IELTS in a country is their first language. How true was that. Hindi ko na Lang maalala kung kung pero nabasa ko talaga. Naiisip ko Lang what if Sa Hongkong mag take? bka magka pag asa Kasi medyo low self esteem SI hubby aftr taking Aug. 16 test date OBS nya pa rin Kasi 6.0. This is his first take after he took twice in 2011. Medyo meron namang improvement Yung 2nd take kya back in 2011. How kayang mas mataas yung binibigay pag country first language ay English pero Cantonese, fokien at mandarin nman Sa Hongkong. I am thinking the possibility Lang nman ang Para Lang to resolve our issue why we could not go EOI apps.

Just had my speaking test this morning at IDP Makati. I am praying for a good score for this band. Next battle will be the LRW test which I will sit this coming Saturday at Dusit Hotel.

@heyits7me_mags The exam itself is standardised, so the idea that where you take it matters doesn't seem to make sense to me. Particularly for the Reading and Listening components, the correct answers are fixed. As for Writing and Listening where the scoring might be a bit arbitrary, at the very least onti lang ang difference. Parang sa bar exams. Anyway I'm sure the examiners have a set criteria for scoring. It's really a matter of how well-prepared and confident the test taker is. Kung enrolled siya sa isang review centre dapat may malalim na assessment para pagtuunan ng pansin kung saan siya mahina.

@ios_dev kumusta sir, pumayag ba BC kahit may hole yung passport mo, si misis kase magtake sa sept 20, eh renewed na din passport nya pero yung old pa gamit namen nung nagregister kame. Thanks in advance!

Pumayag naman. I called IDP before the exam and they asked me to scan and email them the new passport. Make sure to bring both old and new passports when she goes, para less hassle.

Hi, a friend of mind have experienced this twice. She took IELTS twice in HK and her score is between 6.5 to 8. However, the last time she took it here in Manila for 3 times, her score only ranges from 5 to 7. So now she's thinking of taking it again in HK.

Hello! Welcome po. Nope I did not. I am sure kasi na there'll be no effect if I will apply for a remarking. In fact, I was expecting a lower score since I really made a mess na. Magiging 7 nalang yan if super bait ng examiner. Imagine only talking for 30 seconds on the 2nd part of the exam. Grabe talaga yun, another lesson learned.

Last test date he took IELTS. He was expecting some changes he'll get a much higher score in any of components but he does not and the score stays the same that's why he wants to take a while muna before he would follow another test,

Whew, grabe pala yung speaking mo 30 seconds lang compared dun sa required na 2 mins. Baka nabigla ka sa topic at na mental block?

@filipinacpa, ganyan din pala ko nung 2nd take ko, siguro 1 min pa lang tapos na ko magsalita pero ang bait nung examiner ko, puting babae, pretty pa hehehe. Nung tapos na 1 min ko na realise na dami pa oras tapos tinulungan nya ko, nag tanong sya kung hindi ko ba pinost sa social media ung picture nung suot ko tapos ayun na tuloy tuloy na, nagkaroon ako idea.
