@bookworm Thanks for replying. Requirement ba sya when looking for a job? Where would you need these? And is there an accredited clinic you need to get these from? If so, where?
Dental is not needed... No one would bother looking at your cavities here! :)

    Hi guys,

Just a quick question. Is there really a need to have a dental exam and acquire a complete dental record before you leave for Australia? I keep seeing it in people's checklists but I haven't encountered it in any of the requirements from DIAC.

Why is there a need to have this?

    Hope someone can enlighten me.

    Thanks!
The reason kaya nasa checklist yan is not for DIAC purposes. More likely kasi mas mura magpalinis at magpaayos ng ipin sa pinas as compared sa Australia kaya sulitin na.

Ang masarap na ienjoy sa pinas:

Whole body massage using romantic oil scent - Lets face it - P510 lang
Footspa and with pedicure - P560 lang (nail a holic cash and carry makati)
Linis ipin with pasta - 1,500 linis, 900 pasta per teeth (Healthway greenbelt 5)
Haircut with conditioner and menthol massage - P1,000 (bruno's barber sa Glorietta)

Sulit na sulit at masarap. More than 3 times prices nyan dito plang sa Singapore. Marami pang cheaper version nyan.

    You don't need this.
Sino ba nagsama sa checklist nyan?
Dental exam oo, kasi mahal dito pero acquire a complete dental record? this is not needed.

Also, nung andun ako, every now and then nakakaramdam ako ng overwhelming sense of gratitude…

Sydney, really was how I have visualized an “Ideal” Australia and Australian Lifestyle is… Cosmopolitan, Harbour city living, Parks and Nature at your doorstep, Laid-back living, Beaches and Surfing!

Meron kasi syang kasamang “affinity”.

Lumaki kasi tayong mga Pilipino na may kamag-anak or kakilala na nasa Amerika, nagsasalita tayo ng American English and Slangs, updated sa Pop Culture, nanonood ng Disney, nakikita yung Golden Gate Bridge at Statue of Liberty sa movies then thinking what is it like to be there… Kaya yung “affinity” natin sa US, parang nasa dugo na whether we like it or not..

Kaya although hair-line differences lang in most areas, magkaiba ng vibe ang US and OZ para sa akin.

    But I choose OZ! :)

I see =). Yes, because US is already part of our culture and most of pinoys have this called american dream, well you can include me on that hahaha. We adopted their gov't system, education system, sports, culture, music, etc.

Ako nman i haven't been to US pa, napuntahan ko plang is Jakarta, KL, Bangkok, Pinas (live most of my life in Malabon/ Laguna) and ofcourse here in SG currently residing for almost 6 years na.

In my 6 days in Melbourne, here's exactly what i felt as a first timer and how i describe the City (Singapore as reference point).

What i am not particularly impressed/ amazed:
    - Tullamarine Airport, well because Changi Airport sets very high standards
    - Melbourne CBD Shopping - Singapore has better shopping malls/ shopping experience as a whole
    - Transport system - Trams/ trains are amazing but i think SG transport system efficiency and convenience is hard to beat
    - Coles/ Woolworths - Maganda naman and maayos pero i think NTUC/ Giant is better
    - Food/ Restaurants - Maraming makakainan pero SG have lots of choices and much cheaper

What i like about Melbourne and Australia as whole (arrived in the city during winter):

    - I like the people better. Masayahin, friendly and chillax. I saw peoples who are dancing and singing while we strolling around the city.

    - First time to experience winter in my life, kaya sobrang sarap ng pakiramdam with all the maple leaf around.

    - Relax vibe. Madaming bench/ chairs aroung CBD. Daming street performers, cafes/ bars plus, kalesa, parks, plus the yarra river. Parang naka design ung place for people to just relax and enjoy life.

    - City is not so overwhelming, pero di nman parang probinsya talaga. Just right in the middle. Madaling maikot ung CBD plus all the trams, old architectures. Para kang nasa Europe.

    - The city is vibrant, have souls, and cultures

Most of all, like you, i felt at home. Ang sarap ng pakiramdam habang naglalakad ako sa city with my family thinking na this country accepted us with open arms. This makes the place more beautiful kasi you felt you belong to that place. Hindi lang bilang overseas workers/ tourist.

Hi, we are granted 189 visa last September 2014 and we plan to move to Melbourne by May 2015. I am now 7-week pregnant and is due to deliver by August 2015. My question - do I need to advise my CO about my status? Or okay lang to fly na lang by May and dun na magpacheckup and manganak. :)

    Appreciate any inputs po.

@wizardofOz Amazon din pero sa Sg ko pinapaship kase libre, eBay for cheaper pet supplies, Tapos some retailers dito pwedeng online purchases din. Suki ako noon ng zalora which is theiconic here. Tapos may mga sites like ozsale and oo.com.au na medyo cheaper yung ibang stuff. Bumibili lang ako pag sale at mura or free shipping hehe

    - I like the people better. Masayahin, friendly and chillax. I saw peoples who are dancing and singing while we strolling around the city. Hindi sila nahihiya to show their happiness, cguro dito sa SG tingin na sa mga ganun tao eh weirdo. Some students are sitting/ camping sa tabi2 ng kalsada na parang nagpipicnic lang.
Tama, yun din na-observe ko, masayin sila... Parang tntake nila yung every opportunity na magtawanan or to have fun. Saka matulungin sila and sensitive sa kapwa... dumating ako sa Sydney ng 10PM, then nag-train ako from airport to Central... wala pakong SIM nun kaya hindi ko ma-navigate kung nasaan yung hotel ko, hila ko pa luggage, then yung isang aussie inapproach ako and asked if I need help, ginamit namin yung maps nya sa cellphone nya, then ni-lead nya ko doon sa way papuntang hotel ko dahil on the way daw nya yun... then mga couple of times nag-ooffer sila to take my pictures kasi mag-isa ko lang and wala akong choice kundi mag-selfie hehehe..
    - First time to experience winter in my life, kaya sobrang sarap ng pakiramdam with all the maple leaf around.

Take note lang natin na maraming tourist doon, so ingat pa rin lagi and don't be too trusting..

Fresh produce pa, unlike Singapore where everything is imported kaya pilit sa hinog usually ang fruits. In terms of cuisine, the fact that there is a *substantial* number of different cultures here from all the migration waves and refugees means you get proper Greek, Russian, Italian, Korean, Vietnamese, Lebanese/Middle Eastern, Indian, and all other Asian cuisine. Maraming authentic kasi the people who own the shops are really from that country.

Pero nalayo ata tayo sa topic.

Before coming to Australia, pakasawa rin sa Pinoy street food!

Ah bago palang din kasi ako pero impression ko lang naman un sa 6 days ko sa melbourne not oz as a whole kasi we're looking for cheap and good food that time kasi sawa na kami kumain sa southbank area and wala masyado makita. Then lumipat kami bandang londsdale or williams st dun may nakita kami mga chain of restaurants sa tulong ng hotel receptionist. Pinoy food sa laupasat now is tatlo na lutong pinoy, hapag kainan at mang kiko.
