Hello! I'm new here. I'm an RN here in the Philippines and have 4 years of experience as a military nurse.. I am leaving the service soon to pursue a career in Oz. What would you expect after a bridging program? What assessment would you undergo following tbe bridging program? does it guarantee you to be licensed once you finished taking the course?or may bumabagsak dito? Im confused whether to pursue that or to take the 1yr BSN course from UQ , just like what my friend did. After grad nakakuha agad ng license friend ko and nakawork agad.kaya ito na lang sana pnaplan ko kunin. ano ba mas okay sa dalawa?Hellllpppp!

Depende sa iyo. If may pera kang gumastos ng 1 year, go ka. Degree din iyan. Kung wala naman, mag 3 months bridging ka.

Kung makakakuha ka agad ng slot sa UQ, this year ba iyan? At kaya mo mag finance, I think go for it na rin. Kasi di mo na need mag undergo before hand sa AHPRA and before graduation mo dyan makapag apply ka na as RN sa AHPRA.

Medyo matagal kasi magpa assess sa AHPRA ngayon. Last year, around 1 year waiting. I think ngayon, around 6 months. Tapos after bridging, around 4-6 weeks wait again.

Another consideration is work rights. Kapag bridging program ka, wala kang work rights pagkatapos kasi mostly under visitor visa ka. Iba kapag on student visa ka, may time ka para makapag work after your degree.

Plan ko next yr by august. So mas maganda talaga opportunity kung 1 yr?

We may not have funded ourselves for an expensive conversion course pero RN pa rin kami ngayon. Wala din naman assurance na magkakawork ka as RN kung mag 1 year degree ka just like bridging. Baka umuwi ka lang ding luhaan. Maybe you can work as RN pag naregister ka na with your student visa, eh hanggang kailan lang ba valid ang student visa mo? So, in the end babalik ka rin sa Pinas.

Just my two cents. Decision mo pa rin iyan in the end.

3 months lang po ang bridging program. May 8 weeks dahil early exit, may 9 weeks dahil early placement, may 10 weeks, may 12 weeks, may 18 weeks. Hindi po aabot ang BP and other expenses ng 1M. Around 600K po siguro kaya na lahat lahat. Mahal pa rin naman.

Basta bago ka mag apply naplano mo na lahat lahat even the worst that can happen. It's not just a money game, it's a long waiting game.

Suggestion ko lang eh dapat may 3 years experience ka na PAID sa Pinas in Perioperative, ICU or Cardiac. Iyan ang in demand. Otherwise, siguro 5 years or more kung sa wards. Pero 3 years is good enough for PR application.

What do you think po sa 1 year bachelor in nursing conversion program? madali po ba maregister sa ahpra after that?

@Born dont get me wrong. lang kasi mas maigsi. yun friend ko kasi did not have any problem after Ng 1 yr bn sa uq.

And 4-6 weeks before your grad, makapag apply ka na as RN. So waiting time is around 1-2 weeks before maging RN.

When it comes to job? Wala talagang assurance at all either BP or Conversion. What if your employer do no sponsor afterwards?

I doubt you can claim an EXTRA point sa 1 year program for PR. Dapat po 2 years study in Australia para makaclaim ka ng points.

You can claim 15 points for Qualification which is your Bachelors degree in PH, as any RN from PH can, but NOT the 5 pts for Recognition of Australian study which is, clearly as it says, minimum of 2 years.

Yes, provided that you can support your claims. In PH RNs case, we can only apply if AU RN already and with ANMAC.

@peach17 hmm.. kailangan mong mareg sa AHPRA.. daming ways depende sa qualifications mo.. kung studies and exp mo sa US / Canada / Ireland / UK, mas mabilis. kung sa Pinas, assessment ng AHPRA then bridging of around 3 months. otherwise, pwede ka magaral ng full Bachelor of Nursing course na 3 years o less kung may credit transfer.

Tama! Madaming factors ang kailangan mong intindihin. Katulad na last year. Malapit na akong grumaduate sa 1 year Bachelor of Nursing course. At tsaka yung mga nagapply sa AHPRA nung late 2013, this year lang naggrant yung kanilang AHPRA letter para sa bridging. May kasama ako isa na nagbridging halos sabay kami matatapos this year. Pero this year, halos 6 months na lang waiting sa AHPRA. So timbangin mo mga options mo ng maigi.

at tsaka, let's say mareg kaming dalawa by August/Sept.

Hindi ganun kadaling magapply sa PR as a nurse. So, either bridging of PH studies or Bachelor of Nursing studies in Australia.

Pero, kailangang umabot ng 2 years or more yung studies mo.. o 18 months full time study of the 2 year equivalent. Ibig sabihin yung worth ng 2 years or more na studies, dapat pinagaralan mo siya within at least 18 months.

@valiantboy Salamat.

Unfortunately, hindi pa man ako nakaka bridging program. May new scheme na naman sila na to re apply after completion. At in the middle of bridging program, eto pa, nag require sila na international criminal history check na worth 163$. Gastos uli.

After bridging, kahit wala pa akong registration. Less than 200 applications din siguro nagawa ko.

Yung ospital buti pumayag. Mahirap ang interview nila at mahaba. Ayon, naka jackpot ako!

@bytubytu Pabago-bago sila ng requirements ah. Ano ba yung international crim check? Hindi ba pwedeng NBI clearance lang? Kasi magaapply rin ako niyan before ako grumaduate eh. Isa yan sa mga requirements ng AHPRA.

I think maswerte ka at malamang nasatisfy mo yung requirements ng CO mo kaya mas lalong napabilis. At tsaka mabait yung CO mo.. hahaha!

Magiisang buwan ka pala naghanap ng work. Whew. Kasi kung magaapply ako as student tapos after a few months as PR pagkatapos ko makuha yung ANMAC, ang laki ng gastos nun..

Ilang years pala experience mo sa atin.

Haha. Yung Monash naman madami ding impressive new buildings.

Around 5 years in total.

I am sure mas mabilis registration ninyo kasi pwede kang mag apply before your graduation, diba? Yung Fit2Work check sa AU siya, tapos ichecheck nila mga countries na tinirihan mo for more than 6 months. Since PH at AU ka tumira, 2 checks ka. Doble bayad.

If sponsorship fails, atleast ready ka na for PR.
