    This might be a bit off-topic, but I was just wondering if anybody here was approved for a credit card/ student credit card while on a student visa?

    ask ko lang kung ano ang criteria/requirement for a student visa application? ok na ba ang nakatungtung ng second year (1st sem) college?
    I'm planning to sponsor(finance) my niece for a student visa but di ako sure if she's already qualified.

    @RF_angel25 depende po kung ano kukunin nya. Pag bachelor, kailangan at least year 12 dito which is dapat makatapos ng at least 1 year sa college sa pinas.

    @markier87 pwede mag avail ng credit card kahit nasa student visa tayo. As long as u can pay on time. Open a bank acct first, thats important. Lahat na din kasi dito may online payment kaya its useful to have debit/credit card.

    11/17/12: passed school application thru IDP * 12/4/12: received letter of offer (univ. of newcastle) * 12/12/12: credit application * 2/22/13: received new letter of offer * 2/26/13: paid deposit fee * 3/8/13: received COE and paid visa fee * 4/10/13: visa application thru IDP * 4/11/13: medical request from DIAC * 4/12/13: medical exam done * 4/19/13: SLEC uploaded my medicals * 4/12/13: medical exam done * 7/11/13: VISA GRANTED

    Thanks sa mga nagresponse. iba kase ang case ko.. sinabi ko sa IDP na yung mag sponsor sa akin ay in-laws ko na nasa US pa. sabi sa akin ok naman daw yun basta willing at makapag provide ng show money na 1.6Mphp. may nagkaroon na ba ng ganitong case dito na hindi sa loob ng AU ang nagsponsor?
    Sponsor ko pinsan from new zealand pero hindi tinanggap ng immi at nagbigay ako ibang sponsor. Kung sinabi ng IDP agent mo , baka nga pwede

    @goofygoofbot depende yan kasi. Kung magkano rent nyo sa bahay. Kasi ako pumunta ako dito $100 lang dala ko hehehe. Kasi nakitira muna ako sa bahay ng kuya ko , kaya libre lahat. Tapos after a week siniwerte ako nakapag work agad sa fastfood dito. Yung isang kuya ko ganyan din dala amount mga $6k pero super tipid at naghanap agad sila ng work. San ba kayo magrerent ng bahay?

    I definitely can pay on time pero twice na akong hindi pinatuloy sa pag-aapply for a credit card kasi daw sa student visa ko. Anyway, if you have more details regarding this, kindly send me a PM. Cheers! :)

    @Siopao23 subclass 573 nga sabi sa akin ng agent sa IDP. unang choice ko kase is diploma lang which is 1 year lang pero dahil wala akong relatives sa loob ng AU di daw pwede ang vocational lalo na kulang amount ng money ko sa bank. since plano ko namang icontinue as bachelor gawin ko daw package yung 1yr course + 3 yrs course para daw iallow nila ang sponsor ko kahit nasa US.

    @artiste thanks for the reply. so qualified na pala sya kase naka enroll na sya ng 2nd yr 1st sem ngayon sa pinas. nag IDP ka ba? balak ko sana patapusin ko na lang yung 1st sem nya tapos ipa tourist visa ko sya dito then saka ko i-convert ng student visa.

    @Siopao23 same tayo po. meron din akong kapatid sa ausie, bag.o lang nag lodge ng PR. yung kapatid mo po, ano status? yung pag lodge mo po, same kayo ng sponsor ng kapatid mo? san pala kaya sa ausie po?

    You can open an account online at commonwealth bank.then just purchase a debit card after. Its all free of charge.

    February 13, 2015 - IELTS Speaking exam
    February 14, 2015 - IELTS Exam
    February 27, 2015 - IELTS Result Acad(L-7;R-7;W-6.5;S-6.5=OBS-7)
    March 18, 2015 - Received offer letter from WAI Melbourne
    May 18, 2015 - OSHC Paid and Receive Cert
    May 25, 2015 - Paid tuition Fee
    May 27, 2015 - Received COE from WAI
    June 1, 2015 - Medical at SLEC
    june 15,2015 - Submitted all the documents at AMS
    June 16, 2015 - Urinalysis done
    June 16, 2015 - Documents already picked up by VFS at AMS
    June 17, 2015 - Acknowledgement from the AU Embassy
    June 29, 2015 - VISA GRANTED!! THANK YOU LORD!!!
    July 8,2015 - Arrived in melbourne.
