    Hi sa lahat! Naexcite ako while reading all your stories.Nakakainspire :) We just received our grant this morning. and target namin is Melbourne kasi sabi melbourne daw is maganda for family :) Si husband ang primary applicant and planning to move Jan 2016. Sunod nalang kame ng daughter ko pag may work na si hubby. Question lang po regarding job hunting, ok lang ba maghanap ng job pag off shore? may nabasa kasi ako sa ibang forum pag natyempuhan na naghahanap ka ng work ng wala pa dun, eh malalagay ka sa block list sa system nila so kahit nandyan ka na, hindi ka na nila tatawagan. how true po ba yun?

    btw, nice to see you here @J_oz at sis @raspberry0707 kasi kahit sa name lang nyo feeling ko kakilang kakilala ko na kayo hehe. ako ang active talaga sa forum na to kasi si husband ko busy busyhan sa office. haha!

    @she16 hi :D magkikita pala tau sa Melbourne kung ma-grant kami..

    Wala pa akong nabasa na nabablock list.. ung kuya nung friend ko na IT.. offshore nakakuha ng work.. kaya may work n cia bago mgpunta jan sa Aus..

    Cguro be honest lang sa application mo na offshore ka pa at kelan ung dating mo sa Aus.. baka kse ung iba ngpipretend na nasa Aus na kahit wala pa.. baka ung address at phone number na gamit is sa Aus pero offshore naman.. so pag pinatawag para sa interview.. dun malalaman na wala pa pala sa Aus..

    Dati ngpasa ung husband ko ng applications sa Aus.. kahit offshore nakakareceive cia ng phone interviews at emails.. kaso hinahanapan kami ng visa at tinatanong kung may pending visa application kami.. that time wala.. so sabi nila tawagan na lang sila ulit pag may visa na..

    @raspberry0707 yey! kung sakali may first friend na ako sa melbourne! haha salamat sis,try ni hubby mag apply pag malapit na sya umalis :) Ano work ni husband mo sis?

    Questions ulit, san ba magandang tumira sa melbourne? and how much yung rent lets say for a family of three? kahit studio type lang muna or 1BR lang. Pag sinabing CBD, ano ano yung mga places na yun? :)

    @persephone30 Oh my anlamigggg! hahaha paspring na pero grabe pa din sa lamig. Baka din kasi galing kami sa Middle East hehehe pero nung nagtatagal nadopt muna ang lamig parang masarap na hehehe kahit minsan nanganagtog. Ang matindi dun is kapag umulan then ang hangin super lamig brrrrr :) Madami na din mabibili dun sis sa Melby nung nagcompare kami ng price from Doha halos parehas din. Nanghinyang pa nga kami kasi mas okay ang quality ng mga panlamig dun compare sa nabili namin dito. Bumili pa kami ng thermals para makayanan anlamig lalo na sa gabi. Pero paspring na makikita mo umuusbong na ang mga flowers and trees kaya mukhang paganda na ang weather. ;)

    Yes nagprocess na kami ng TFN online bago 2 days before kami umalis ng Melby. Yung medicare mabilis lang din nakakatuwa pa yung tiga medicare napakaaccomodating niya sa pagaasikaso sa amin. Mabilis lang din makita nasa may Galleria siya sa CBD sa may Bourke St. palatandaan dun is yung North Face na store sa may harapan ng building. Yes po need ng address sa Bank, TFN and Medicare. Yung address ng friend namin yung nilagay po namin muna. Pero dapat unahin ang Bank ayusin kasi hahanapin siya sa medicare.

    Depende cguro sa situation po like with us may possibility kasi mauna ako for good if ever mabuntis ako/mag-aral kaya inayos na namin lahat ni hubby just in case mauna ako sa Melbourne for good. Atleast may sarili ako atm and medicare. Pinaayos din namin ung medicare na separate ang card pero nakalink pa din lahat kay primary (husband). :)

    Mabilis din ang bank 2 weeks bago ang flight namin ngsetup na kami sa bank tapos nagpasched kami ng appointment couple of days after ng arrival namin. Pagdating namin dun binigay sa amin ang temporary card namin then after 3 days naibigay yung permanent atm card. :) Cheers Mate! Kelan ang lipad ninyo po?

    Congrats sa Visa Grant Sis! Great choice ang Melbourne. Napakaganda ng vibe and sobrang ganda ng city. I think you can try naman magapply offshore lalo PR ka na pero most of them prefer kasi andun na for face to face interview and minsan immediate ang hiring. Natutunan ko lang based sa paginterview ng mga friends sa mga experiences nila while andun kami last week is malaking tulong din para makahanap ng job ang network of friends (referrals).     Sana dun nlng pala kmi bumili ng ibang panlamig ang mahal kasi dito sa Sg. Cguro melb nlng din kami bili ng dagdag pangthermal.

    Naka setup na rin ako ng bank account sa NAB so mag walkin nlng daw kmi pagdating dun. Baka mag process nlng din ako ng TFN and Medicare para wala na alalahanin. Thanks sis for the info! I hope magkita kita tayo lahat taga dito sa Melbourne :)

    Hello po. We need advice or suggestions po. We are planning to move to melbourne by march 2016. But hindi pa decided kung ddalhin na namin mga kids namin (2 yrs old and 6months old, as of this writing). Our visa will expire by june 2016. Initial plan is kami muna ni Hubby on march 2016. Stay there to look houses or jobs for 2months. Then go back to philippines to get children. So dapat before june 2016, lahat kmi asa aussie na.
    But while we are checking for flight fares, grabe! Mahal pala hehe. Kaya we are opting to take the kids with us on march 2016. Mas tipid kasi kung sabay-sabay kmi pumunta jan. mkksave ng 1buwang house rent. Though mahihirapan kmi... My mga friends naman kmi sa melbourne kung sakali we need help.

    Ano po ba mgandang gawin?
    We are still working here in sg. Para mkapg-ipon for the next big move.

    Thing is you don't have much time to deal with between initial entry (March) and expiry of visa (June) - 2 or 3 months is a very short time and it would be possible that both of you still has not found some work by then...
