@aiayosef hi! Worrying will impede your communication ability. Just relax and keep your eyes on the ball-- communicate and enjoy!
Sa speaking kasi importante ang fluency and less hesitation. I remember the examiner and I laughing at the 3rd stage of the speaking test coz I was just being me and honest and spontaneous. Nung writing part, habang gigil na gigil sumagot agad mga katabi ko pag abot ng booklet, I took a moment to understand the question and slowly wrote in outline prior to writing. It turns out I managed two tasks on time coz I had a plan beforehand while the others were panicking midway to erase or add.
    Relax, be honest, and enjoy!
    That's the key!

@be20 Good on you!! That's rgd spirit. Pero kelngan b mag leave if you can study at night? Online exercises abound and free! Anyway, it helps that you watch and listen to Questiion Hour Oz parliament youtube where you'll learn expressions including idioms you can use in writing and speaking. Listening is also developed. 3-in-1!

Well it depends on your learning style if taking a leave will be more beneficial to you!

@be20 hi sorry just got back from 1 week vacay in Manila. Anyway, if you read the AITSL and Immi guidelines, the points you'll be credited for would be the sum of bachelor, experience, age, and IELTS. If you just intend to take some units for early childhood, then it wouldn't be credited any points because only the completed degrees count. I'm just not sure if that's what you meant with your question. So in the end, you have to decide in which pathway would you get here higher points for credit

    Hi.

I recently submitted my docs for assessment to aitsl (pre-primary) and im quite worried with the requirement of 45 days of supervised teaching. I had my 150 hours OJT for toddlers class and another 150 hours for 4's and 5's class. The aitsl requires the age group 3-8 for pre primary assessment, so, do you think my 150 hours for 4's and 5's class will suffice?

Is there an equivalent hours for the 45 days teaching?

Help please... Thank you so much.

Hi. Good evening. I'm new to this forum. I am a preschool teacher and I already have teaching experiences handling pupils from Toddlers to Gr. 4. May I just ask if it is possible if I can directly get myself qualified by ACECQA even if I'm still in the Philippines? And then just look for employer sponsored jobs through the different job websites online?

I am hoping you can answer my queries. Thank you.

To be honest, I don't know any teacher who have gone this route. Anyway, ACECQA is very strict with their qualifications when it comes to Early Childhood Teaching. You'd have to check first if your degree and school are listed in ACECQA's approved qualifications. Search for it in this page: http://www.acecqa.gov.au/Qualifications.aspx

If it's not there, then you'll have to go through a different route -- through Visa 189 or 190 or student visa. Good luck!

@sunflower Oh that's too bad. I was already compiling my requirements pa naman. I also have a prospective center that offers sponsorships for their employees. Hehe. I already checked my school, unfortunately, it's not on the list. Well, student visa has always been my plan B. Might as well take that route. Thanks for your reply. Are you an ACECQA qualified educator po?

I'm a qualified Pre-Primary School teacher according to AITSL, a migrant assessment body, but I'm not qualified by ACECQA standards. It's because I didn't have a teaching practicum load for children within the 0-3 years range.

Why don't you do the Visa 189 route? (Read more here: https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/189-)

@sunflower From my understanding, you can not teach preschool in Australia if you're not qualified by ACECQA even if you're AITSL qualified. Is that correct or you can still teach with only your AITSL qualification? I'm also planning to study Masters in Special Education that's why student visa is my Plan B. However, I don't know if I can support myself there if that's the case.

Sorry I have a lot of questions. I don't have a migration agent kasi, that's why I'm only relying on the different posts here. So far, they have been very helpful. :-)

That's right, I cannot teach in a preschool in Australia since I'm not qualified by ACECQA. However, ACECQA has a special circumstance for teachers with Primary School Teacher qualifications. In my case, as soon as I enrol in a diploma/other approved degree for Early Childhood Teaching, I can be considered as a Pre-Primary School Teacher. (Source: http://www.acecqa.gov.au/actively-working-towards-an-approved-qualification)

No worries! Feel free to ask away. I myself did not seek the help of an agent. :)

@sunflower I hope you don't mind, may I ask how much did you spend for all your applications as well as starting your life there? Kahit approximation lang. You can direct message me if you want. But if you do mind, it's okay if you don't answer the question.

@Sai If your school is not on the qualified list of ACECQA, then you can always have them assess it. I've done this and I am currently working here now as a diploma assistant, I am on student visa applying for 189/190. In your case, you can go through the ACECQA route and find an employer willing to sponsor. However, your qualifications should at least be equivalent to a Diploma as per ACECQA standards in order to be sponsored by an employer

@beaj Did you have your qualifications assessed when you were still in the Philippines? Aside from the requirements listed on their page, did they ask you for other requirements like course descriptions or aei noosr? Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post.

So far, the things I've paid for are the following:

AITSL Assessment for Migration - AUD 600.00
IELTS - Approx. AUD 790.00 (since I took it 3x)
    Visa 189 - AUD 3600.00
    NBI Clearance - AUD 3.00
    Medical - AUD 121.00
Teacher Registration - AUD 241.65 (needed for Primary School teaching, not Early Childhood teaching)

    TOTAL: AUD 5, 597.30 (approx. PHP 195, 905.50)

The price is pretty steep, but I really think it'll be worth it in the long run. :)
I haven't made the big move to Australia yet, so I can't tell you about the price of living yet for sure. You can read more about it in these threads:

@Sai I had it assessed here. Can't remember if I needed to submit my course description before but I am quite sure I had my degree assessed by AEI-NOOSR first as that is also a requirement of ACECQA.

@Sai there might be changes to it already as I can't find it as well. You might want to check ACECQA if they still require it. Here's the new website for aei noosr though https://internationaleducation.gov.au/Pages/default.aspx

@beaj Hi. I emailed ACECQA and they aren't asking for an AEI equivalence anymore. I'm quite nervous to have my degree qualified. I hope it will go well. Thank you for your assistance. Do you know any UST graduates who have been qualified by ACECQA?

Hi there! Ikaw yung FLCD, right? With regards to ACECQA, it is not really a "registration body" so as long as your qualification AND school appears in their approved qualifications list (http://www.acecqa.gov.au/Qualifications.aspx), then you don't need to apply for "registration" for them. You'll only apply to have your qualifications checked from them (http://www.acecqa.gov.au/Assessment-of-equivalent-early-childhood-educator-qualifications) if your qualification is NOT listed.

What is your target state? There are some states wherein you will need to be registered as ECT (usually teacher registration is for Primary or Secondary teachers). However, in Queensland, there is no need to be registered to become an Early Childhood Teacher. Usually, all you need are the following: your ECT qualifications, working with children check, and first aid, anaphylaxis and asthma certificates.

It's not as complicated as taking a licensure exam for teachers here in the Philippines, huh? :)

    @rdagulan
Hi! Just like I mentioned before, the migration assessment body will take your educational background into consideration more than your actual job experience, so if your degree is more related to Secondary Education than Early Childhood, then I suggest you have your assessment done for Secondary Education. :)

I replied to your concern, two posts up there. Anyway, in addition to what I mentioned: If your PRC license indicates Secondary Education, then probably your educational background is equivalent to Secondary Education. For teacher assessment, you'll have to sit the IELTS Academic first and get a score of at least 8.0 in Speaking and Listening and at least 7.0 in Writing and Reading. Then the next step would be to lodge your documents, along with your IELTS results, to AITSL for migration purposes. :)

@sunflower thank you for the reply. I recently checked acecqa, i didnt find FLCD in the list.

We will be staying with my MIL in NSW (border ng NSW and QLD yung suburb nya). So if ever i find work in QLD, no need to register anywhere? I can apply as soon as i get there?

How about in NSW? Do i need to register with BOSTES?

    Thank you so much.
