    Reply to @annie23: More often than not, kung ano pa yung category na confident ka, doon pa yung may sabit (sa Speaking ko, for instance). And kung ano pa yung kinakabahan kang sasabit, yun pa yung mataas.

    Relax ka lang. Worrying is like a treadmill - it gives you something to do but it doesn't get you anywhere. Subjective naman ang Speaking test.

    5 lang po ang required saming mga ordinaryong manggagawa dun kung matutuloy hehe. Gen T lang po iyan at hindi na ako nagreview. Sa mga hindi pa nakakakuha ng ielts exam, kung gen t, lang naman kukunin nyo at gumagamit naman kayo o nagsasalita ng english everyday sa work or home lets say 30%, i don't think there's a need to review pa. Lalo lang kayo malilito at baka kabahan pa kayo pag nainterview na kayo lalo sa speaking. Expect the unexpected sa speaking eh. Mamaya sa reviewer nyo yun ang kabisahin nyo tapos bigla ibang itanong eh di nablangko kayo. Tulad ko, eexpect ko bang tanungin ako ng what's your favorite TV show? :P

    Sa listening siguro oo (pero di ko isusugal to kung ako sayo), pero sa reading, I suggest kung pano sya nasulat sa reading doc, ganun mo din sya isulat sa sagot mo... remember, ang all caps is reserved for acronyms lang dapat and medyo madaming kaekekan ang IELTS :)

    @burberry, sir hangga't maaari focus lang po kayo sa isang reviewer...pag masyado marami rin kasi binabasa, maguguluhan kayo kung anong technique yung gagamitin niyo sa exam...

    Nung nag-IELTS ako, yung isang Cambridge reviewer lang binasa ko tapos yung tinuro niya lang yung ginamit ko hehe. Sapat na yang si Cambridge hehe

    I agree with Loki... sa IELTS quest ko rin nun, cambridge yung pinakanakatulong sakin..nung nagpraktis ka ba ng listening, ginamit mo ba ung answer sheets na provided? may pang check ka rin ba ng sagot? pag di mo pa nagawa ito, try mo magpraktis ulet from the top, tapos dapat ung format is sakto sa allowed sa sagot... pero kung mina-mani mo na to - well I guess, wala ka ng magagawa pa kasi sobrang ready ka na :P baka maover ka naman sa preparation hehehe

    speaking of which, ano difference ng gen t at acad sa IELTS? gaano ba kahirap? curious lang kasi nung nagexam kami, yung 9 rows acad lahat, yung last row gen t isang row lang hehe. sana lahat ng kasaby ko nun pumasa din. July 21 ang exam ko.

    Reply to @hilikus: Iba ang Reading and Written tests ng academic. Mas mahirap compared sa GT. Sinubukan ko several times yung practice reading test ng Academic hindi ako makalampas nang 6 na score. Yung written nila imbes na essay ay graph description. Buti na lang para sa students, accountants, and doctors lang ang Academic.

    I took my IELTS exam yesterday for Speaking and today for the others. Eto experiences ko:

    Speaking

    11:25 AM ang schedule ko, I was there around 10 AM. Registered myself, placed my belongings sa room, got inside sa isang room. The invigilators won't tell you who will be your examiner pero nakasulat naman iyon sa list na pipirmahan mo. Alamin mo na lang. There were 5 lists sa registration table, sa Interview Room 4 ako. Sa waiting area, ireregister ka sa computer, mag finger scan, mag picture taking at sasabihin kung saan ka uupo. So there, magkakasama kayo sa waiting area. 10:30AM nag start na magtawag ang mga examiners. 2 Filipinos, 2 Filipinas, 1 female foreigner. Tinawag ako earlier than my schedule, around 20 minutes earlier.

    I went to my interview room, I was asked to sit down. So umpisa, nagtanong muna ang interviewer pero unrecorded. Siguro establishing rapport or knowing kung saan ko gagamitin ang IELTS ko. Task 1 medyo easy naman, pero mukhang napahaba mga sagot ko. Task 2 naman, natapos ko ang 2 minutes and I was stopped. Task 3 was soooooo difficult. Sabi pa niya sa umpisa, he will asked around 2 follow up questions. Pero around 6 ang naitanong niya. Big words pa ang ilang ginamit ng examiner ko at ang sentence construction niya ay mahirap intindihin. Ang naisip ko lang noon, alamin ang main idea at sumagot. Pero after ko sumagot, medyo nakikipag debate na siya. Na rattle tuloy ang utak ko, sagot pa rin. Pero noong sumagot ulit ako, pinasabugan ako ng mahihirap na tanong.

    Napansin ko sa examiner ko, mahilig siyang mag smile. HAHA. Nakaka conscious tuloy.

    Mahirap kayang abutin ang band 8 sa IELTS sa general test?

    I am aiming for band 8 so that I get 20 points. Di ako papasa sa points plus some extra pag hindi band 8 ang nakuha ko.

    Sa Listening, Reading, Writing naman:

    Listening

    Nagdasal talaga ako na sana wala o kahit kaunting MULTIPLE CHOICE questions lang. Sad to say, more than 10 items ang multiple choice. By experience, weakest ko kasi iyan. It proved nga na nangarag din ako during exams, sa part 2, 7 questions ang meron. Habang binabasa ko, feeling ko nag freeze na utak ko. HAHA. Tricky ang questions, sa tatlong choices, 1 doon sure ng mali, yung 2 choices, nasabi sa recording. So choose na lang sa best answer. Pero sobrang dikit ang 2 choices. Hay! 50/50 ako dyan. Ganoon din sa part 4, may around 5 multiple choices. Naiyak tuloy ako. Nabasa ko naman lahat, pero. Unsure pa rin. Sa tama sila.

    Reading

    Nagdasal din ako na sana wala o kahit kaunting TRUE/FALSE/NOT GIVEN at YES/NO/NOT GIVEN. Pero umpisa pa lang, 7 TFNG na ang meron. Other parts are easy naman. Pero bandang huli, may apat namang YNNG. 11 lahat sila. Medyo critical ito kasi kung di mo nabasa yung instruction, baka true/false/ng ang naisagot mo. Sa 3rd passage, ang mahirap. Sana tama.

    Writing

    Task 1 ay table, task 2 ay open-ended question. Easy lang ang topic but writing on time is a different story. Inuna ko ang task 2, around 35 minutes, natapos ko without editing. Task 1, knowing na mabagal ako dito nag allot talaga ako ng 25 minutes. Natapos ko naman 3 mintues before time. Nag edit pa ako sa task 2 at task 1. Napaka important ng editing kasi, malalaman mo talaga na maling grammar, tenses, or spelling. Halos 3 rin ang nakita ko. Medyo kabado ako sa task 1 baka di ako nakaabot ng 150 words.

    Nakaka drain ang IELTS. Nakakapagod. Sana last ko na iyan.

    I badly need a 7.0 in all subtests. Sana generous ang examiners ko.

    Pero nakita ko rin na pwede rin akong mag-earn ng points sa ibang areas - gusto ko na sa state nomination kaya yun na rin ang hahabulin ko.

    just wanna share my IELTS results(academic module) ... nakaka frustrate... L: 8.0, R: 6.5, W: 7.0, S:6.5 OBS: 7.0.... .5 nalang for reading and speaking hay.... sa IDP ako nagtake.nung Aug. 4... hay wala akong magagawa move on and take it again or explore another option... :(

    Aug. 16, 2012 - IELTS results L: 8.0, R: 6.5, W: 7.0, S: 6.5, OBS:7.0
    Sept. 7, 2012 - Applied to ACU and Deakin University via IDP
    Sept. 20, 2012 - Letter of offer received from ACU
    Sept. 25, 2012 - Submitted new school application form to Deakin University
    October 20, 2012 - Declined offer from ACU
    November 26, 2012 - Received Letter of Offer from Deakin University 1 year Bachelor of Nursing with EAP.
    Dec. 12, 2012 - paid school fees
    Dec. 20, 2012 - received COE
    Dec. 20, 2012 - applied for Student Visa via IDP
    Jan. 7, 2013 - received sms from Australian embassy that they've received my application/documents
    Jan. 8, 2013 - received email notification for medical exam
    Jan. 10, 1013 - Medicals done at SLEC
    Jan. 14, 2013 - SLEC forwarded results to Australian Embassy
    Feb. 8, 2013 - Visa Granted!!!! :)))
    April 10, 2013 - First day in Melbourne
    May 2, 2013 - EAP course at Deakin University English Language Institute
    July 2013 - Bachelor of Nursing Entry
    October 2014 - Finished Bachelor of Nursing
    October 2014 - Took OET exam: Overall grabe B, individual band Grade: B
    October 2014 - extended student visa : Student visa 572
    November 2014 - Applied for AHPRA registration
    December 2014 - Got registration from AHPRA Division 1
    Registered Nurse.
    May 25, 2015 - started work as RN.
    May 1, 2016 - Applied for Victorian State Sponsorship
    May 2, 2016 - Submitted EOI (Subclass 190)
    May 24, 2016 - Lodge EOI for visa 189 ( +5 pts. 1 year Australian work experience.)
    May 26, 2016 - Received invitation to apply for visa 189
    - uploaded all documents, paid visa fees
    May 27, 2016 - Medicals at Bupa
    June 14, 2016 - CO contact, request for additional documents, Forgot to upload AFP check.
    - uploaded AFP check.

    Sayang medyo kulang pa ng 0.5 ang reading at speaking mo. Lately nga daw nagiging mahirap ang reading. Nung nagexam ako last month yun ang lowest score ko. Di ko nga alam kasi wide reader naman ako. Mula news hanggang novels, autobio, elegy, comics, porn, halos lahat binabasa ko.at naging writer pa ako sa school paper namin. Pero sumakto lang ako sa reading, although mataas naman ang writing ko. Napaka-tricky kasi ng mga latest reading exams.

    Kung pasado sana ang reading baka puede pa nating ipa-remark ang speaking mo malay natin umabot ng seven. Kaso ang reading exam kasi halos wasto ang pagkakacheck, at particular sila sa spelling. Kung ako sa yo, just give it another try. Malay mo baka suertihin na. Konting practice pa kaya mo yan!

    Dec. 18, 2012- Officially received positive assessment result from EA. Work experience count was wrong, made an appeal to EA.
    Jan. 4, 2013- Submitted EOI
    Jan. 7, 2013- received invitation to apply for Subclass 189 Skilled Migrant Permanent Visa
    Feb 21, 2013- Received correct Assessment Outcome from EA
    March 1, 2013- Received confirmation from DIAC re Visa Application
    April 8, 2013- CO Allocated (Team 6- Adelaide)
    April 12, 2013- Medical Exam
    April 28, 2013- Submitted NBI Clearance
    June 27, 2013- Submitted Saudi PCC
    July 2, 2013- VISA GRANTED!

    Reply to @alrakeam_18: Sure bang required kang mag-Academic? Hirap kasi talaga ng Reading exam nyan. GT medyo kaya pang i-perfect. Try na lang ulit dahil almost always precise ang scoring sa Reading unlike sa Written and Speaking tests na subjective ang scores.
