Nagrereview na ako ngayon and later will take my paid mock exam set b. Importante kasi 'di ako masorpresa sa day of exam once familiar ako what to expect on exam day. Saan test venue ka ba nag take before? Thanks in advance!

@Charmgeil0325 start watching CNN or BBC news reports. To improve on oral fluency, dapat po maayos ang pagkakabigkas ng words and watch out for pauses everytime my comma and other related punctuation such as semi-colon etc. Practice talaga ang key. Keep on reading articles from websites din sa youtube.

@jedh_g I took the test here in Melbourne. Nag-aaral po kasi ako dito.

As you can see, I got 90 sa speaking. Pero ito lang masasabi ko, halos magkandi buhol buhol sinabi ko sa describe image at retell lecture. So ang napansin ko, as long as masabi mo ung keywords is ok na. Like sa describe and retell, hindi na ako nag rephrase or paraphrase, kung ano lang ung title, binabasa ko lang. as in wala ako binabago. simple words lang din gamit ko like increase, decrease, minsan sinisingitan ko din ng mga "gradually increase, slight, dramatic, fluctuating"

Sa summarize spoken and written text naman, hindi ako masyado reliable dahil 77 lang ang score ko. Ang problem hula ko is dahil di ako masyado gumamit ng synonyms. Same words lang ginagamit ko. As in kung ano ung narinig ko or kung ano ung topic.

Salamat, kayang kaya mo ung exam. As long as familiar ka na, dapat alam mo agad ung gagawin, hindi ung babasahin mo pa instructions.

Like ung sa summarize, sa spoken, 50-70 words, sa written, 5-75 words (1 sentence)

Nung exam kasi nalito ako kung ilang words ba dapat, di kasi nakalagay sa instructions. Haha

@powmic23 wow thanks! Sa melbourne ka pala nag take ng PTE exams. Salamat for the encouragement. I just need no scores lower than 65 on each bands, I'm fine with that. Focus lang is the key and wide vocabulary in mind. Wag lang kakabahan and you're correct, mind the correct format for each test type and you're ready. I will take later my mock exam, I will let you know where my weakness will be.

Yung essay ko isa lang lumabas.

Parang ganito siya: "give an example of a recent invention and explain why either it is detrimental or beneficial"

Ang ginawa ko example ay mobile phones para madali, ang problema konting collocation lang nagamit ko parang dalawa lang. "ongoing debate" at "technology advancements"

@dtrax sorry late reply. yes, pwede kang gumawa ng template sa listening. kahit hindi na related sa speech, ok lang as long as madaming academic words at maganda pagkakasabi. kaya gawin mong general ung template mo. ganun ginawa ko. malayo na sa topic but still got a high score. hehe

@powmic23 Mejo tricky ung listening. madali sya, yes. pero complicated sya sagutan kaya don't underestimate Listening sa PTE. kelangan sa write from dictation, mabilis ka magtype kahit mali spelling. you'll have the chance yto correct naman before proceeding to next question. same sa missing word. type initials or abbreviations muna. Use can use tab key to move from one box to another. no need to use mouse. then summarize spoken text, ginawa ko, ni-list down ko lang mga important words. parang bullet form then arrow na lang kung connected sya sa isang idea na nabanggit. then pag gagawa ka na ng summary, use template.

ganito sa kin, "The lecturer confabulated about the....", "He expatiates that the......", "He also aforementioned....." ikaw na bahala how you'll connect the sentences para maging fluent pa din sya.

sa writing, make sure mabasa mo ung mga essays dito:

sobrang effective yan! instead na mag-alot ka pa ng time for formulating ideas, derecho ka na sa writing kasi may idea ka na how to answer it. more on word choices at grammar check na lang gagawin mo. No need to memorize mga essays na nandun sa link. make sure you get the idea and how will you answer it. in my experience, both essay question ko nanjan sa link so swabe na lang ung pagsagot ko hehe. pansin ko madalas lumabas ung essay about kay Einstein. yan din kasi ung essay question sa kin. haha

Sa summarize written text, make sure madami kang baon na academic words. ung summarize in one sentence, pwede ka gumamit ng malalalim na salita dun na kahit wala sa paragraph. para mas maging academic ung dating.

@powmic23 increase mo lang ang words mo sa writing, around 280+, for sure tataas yan, ganun ginawa ko sa experiment ko sa gold kit. tapos nakuha ko desire result sa actual exam.

@OZwaldCobblepot thanks! I mean reading and writing pala ung need ko iimprove. Haha. Aminado ako sa Reading part talagang halos hinulaan ko lahat kaya 73 lang score ko. Masyado ako na time pressure pero sa huli, ang dami ko pa pala oras sana.

@pinoycoder I see, siguro nasa 250+ words lang ung sa last essay ko. 77 lang writing ko pero alam ko isa talaga un sa weaknesses ko.

Salamat sa mga replies. I will take another test again 1 month from now to achieve the 79 each. Medyo magkabisado muna ako ng academic words at collocation. In God's perfect time!

@powmic23, yes tama. kasi sa gold kit ko dati. 250 words lang. 77 lang score, then tnry ko 300 words sa test B, biglang tumaas. then ayun nakita ko na pattern.

@pinoycoder Parang sa speaking ata ako nangangamote. OMG. panicking mode it is. I'm using lang kasi an iphone headset. Not sure if it has a bearing with my speaking result. Well, nway this friday na yung exam. Good luck to me. :

@WalanjoSG try to improve your speaking, my bearing din sya reading module. kasi close yung scoring ng PTE actual and goldkit. I just bought a cheap headset from challenger, 15 sgd lang, logitech brand. tapos try mo din i test https://ptepractice.com/requirements if working lahat ng requirements.

anyone here experienced 'error' dw ung exam ko and mei technical issue? took the exam march 1 and di dw mai release ang result. so they asked me to take it again (which i've got no time anymore dahil sa work and school). is it possible to have it refunded? kakainis ksi ung customer service. di alam ano gagawin.

hi @kymme! Nung March1 din ako nag-exam. Sobrang labo labo ng scores ko parang wala akong ginawa.haha May less than 50 pa. LRSW 90/85/73/90 ung scores ko nung first take but since I want 79 all nagtake ulit ako march1 din dito sa Makati. After 10th day ko pa nkuha ung results nagkaproblem daw. Walang matinong maisagot ung customer service. Then after several follow ups ko nilabas na results, hndi kagandahan ang lumabas and naniniwala akong nagkaglitch ung system nila. Wala nman akong magawa so nagrebook nlang ako. Sayang pera. T.T

@dtrax sa listening, focus lang tlg and write notes na mabilis na mabilis especially ung mga key points. then sa writing four parts: intro, advantages, disadvantages, conclusion. dun sa write from dictation, nagttype ako hbng nkikinig kht mali mali nppindot ko sa keyboard pero after nun tska ko nlang icheck ung spelling, spacing, punctuation, etc.
