To all, when you converted your license from SG DL to AU DL, did you went for knowledge and practical test? Kasi based sa research ko, every state has their own policy when converting from foreign RECOGNISED country such as Singapore.

Technically, it's a direct conversion for Victoria, Sydney and QLD for Singapore Driver's License holders. That means you need not take the theory, hazard and practical tests.

I've heard of cases where some were asked to do some tests however -- based on how the officer assessed your SG DL (for example, perhaps newly issued pa lang ang SG DL mo, etc).

I had my SG DL directly converted by VicRoads.

@Miyawski , how long you have your SG DL before you convert? May sites ako nababasa na they will require you to take the knowledge test, eye perception but not the practical. I just want to have clear information and don't to be misled by some sites.

My plan is to convert my PH DL to SG DL. But before that, I need to renew my PH license. Expired na sya for almost 3 yrs. Nagdridrive na ako nung nasa pinas p lng ako. Pero nung nagmove n ako sa SG, madalang na lng once every 2 yrs ako umuuwi s pinas.

I just went to VicRoads, booked an appointment (I think you can do this online, but we had some other business din kasi with VicRoads that day so isang lakaran na lang), then on the appointed date, submitted the forms they asked me to fill up.

A week after, I got my VicRoads license.

    When you arrive in Australia.
Please visit the Commonwealth Bank branch you’ve chosen – the address is provided above.

We need to complete a customer identification process in person to activate your Smart Access account - this is important. Once you’ve completed this you can withdraw money from your new account and pick up your Debit MasterCard.

Remember to take these documents to the branch:

A copy of this letter and
    Your passport.

We’ll be happy to chat to you about our other products when you visit us.

    Transferring money into your account.
You can transfer money into your Smart Access account before you arrive. Provide your local bank with the information above and they’ll do the
    rest.

Use your NetBank client number (we’ve emailed it to you) and password to log on at www.commbank.com.au/netbank and check your account
balance. If you make a transfer, the balance will update within five business days. Until you have been identified you will not be able to withdraw
    from your new account.

Just wanna share an article that an FB friend shared, baka makatulong sa yo (it mentions Philippines but applicable din naman elsewhere):

From the Philippines to Australia: Helping Your School-Aged Child to Adjust

In the case of my 5 year old, we just went to the school na gusto namin, asked if they can take my daughter in, filled up some forms, then waited for their reply. That's it. This is in Melbourne though.

    All the best.

@auauoioi direct flight ba to? musta naman legroom ng plane na ginagamit ng cebpac for australia flights? worry ko kasi sobrang crammed, eh matagal tagal pa naman ung biyahe.
They use the bigger Airbus A330 for the Mnl - Syd route. I've flown this plane before (SG/MNL) and they mostly have a 3 - 3 - 3 config. But sa tail end ng plane, may ilang rows na 2 - 3 - 2, and in a way, fortunately dito kami na-assign isang beses (2 kasi kami ng utol ko noon).

If I remember correctly, pitch is slightly better than the A320s.

help!
