mas maganda ba talaga melbourne kesa sa sydney? i know medyo generic ang tanong na to, pero in terms of sweldo and "mapaglilibangan", takot ko kasi baka boring.

Highly subjective to

) but let me share my thoughts.

I chose Melb over Syd because:
- Mas laid back ang buhay sa Melb (I think)
- Mas lower ang cost ng property sa Melb (just in case mag-settle down for good sa state na ito)
- Mas lower ang cost of living sa Melb
- Most of my friends are in Melb

Having said the above, Sydney:
- Being a much bigger state, means you have lots of places to go to.
- The Sunshine State of Queensland is closer (as compared to Melb -> QLD)
- Has a lot of nice and popular beaches
- Is probably more vibrant than Melb
- Has higher cost of living, and thus, higher salary (to compensate for that)
- Mas mahal ang property sa Syd

I probably missed a few salient points but yan lang pumapasok sa isip ko ngayon. :-??

bank- depends how busy is d branch. f magfillup ka online bfore u visit d branch mga 30mins lng

@Miyawski , thanks sa reply. Konti pa baon ko and ayaw sabihin ni Boss kung magkano ung departamental bonus. I'm worried ko kc if ever ako umalis ng Aug or Oct baka wala na me mahanap na work. IT Infrastructure with expertise in VoIP.

Also, I'm doing research kung saang save na suburb magstay. I've been reading articles na medyo magulo sa west sub. Melby rin target ko.

Based on what I've seen for the past few months, marami-rami ding IT Infra roles dito sa Melb. I know of some friends na nakakuha ng IT Infra related jobs dito sa Melb nitong past few months - hindi exactly same as their role or specialty nung nasa Singapore sila, but as long as you're flexible enough then you should be fine, I think.

Also, I'm doing research kung saang save na suburb magstay. I've been reading articles na medyo magulo sa west sub. Melby rin target ko.

That's what I was told by a friend din when I moved here. Been here for almost a year na and I can tell you that that is quite a misconception. Can't generalize Western Suburbs as "medyo magulo". Sure, some Western suburbs have made a (negative) mark like Sunshine West but the same can be said din naman sa East. Take Dandenong for example. :-?

oh.. nag-level up na pala sila, citizen narin kelangan? kala ko pag PR, dami pwede pag-applyan. sana ung company na yun ay working on government projects (para may sense na citizen hinahanap).

kahit subjective, maraming salamat @Miyawski ! wala naman talaga kasing objective na sagot, kasi ung tanong itself is subjective din. personal preference talaga at the end of the day. and ung mga nasulat mo, really helped

May certain jobs kasi na kelangan ng security clearance.

Yung ilang opening din na nakita na tugma sana sa akin, kelangan ng NV clearance -- which is AFAIK, only citizens can obtain.

@prcand i think mas madami pa din options sa atin sa Au.kng d palarin sa melby..madami pa other states..dto sa sg khit Pr na nahihirapan na makahanap ng work lalo na IT. Outsourced na kasi sa India. Khit d qualified mga nappy eh kinukuha pa din pra makatipid

@z3design @kittykitkat18 @hindiakosidarna may appointnment ako for SG PR application (ni-sked ko August 2015, tagal no? haha) pero parang ayoko na pumunta dun. based sa mga results recently, medyo hindi talaga flavor of the month mga noypi. mukhang mini-maintain talaga nila ung 70% ratio.

@prcand , gus2 mo ba magPR d2? Eh ako nga ayoko na 2h.. Been living in SG for almost 12+ years. Sawang sawa na ako.. Nung una kong dating d2, racist mga tao. Nung nagpaconvert ako ng Citizen. Taena sila, ako na bully. Kung pede nga lng ipatransfer ung citizen ko papatransfer ko eh... Hindi na magnda d2. Also hindi sya place to settle down. Passport lng habol ko. hehehe

@kittykitkat18 , Mukhang mauuna pa kau mag move. Unfortunately hindi pa ako pede umalis ng SG. After OCT, dmating kc reservist letter ko.. Kaasar, rejected pa exit permit ko kc wala akong valid reason aside na magmimigrate ako.

aww... @z3design parang nafe-feel ko ung hugot. sa case ko kasi, single pa ako at ini-explore ko ung PR dito dahil may hobby at passion ako, na ang requirement ay dapat PR/citizen ka para pwede mong gawin... though nakikinita ko nga ung future na sinasabi mo pag nagconvert to citizen dito. though, sobrang malayo at malabo mangyari dahil hindi sila nagbibigay ng PR, much more citizenship pag hindi ka kasama sa 70% core demographics.

pero push lang yan... pag nasa OZ ka na, makakamtam mo narin freedom

@prcand nagbook kami ng british airways 2 adults at 1 infant almost $1400. initial entry lang at balik SG din after a week. medyo mahal ng konti sa SQ lalo na pag red eye flight.

betterwith I have a question po sa mga nasa Au na nasubukan nyo na ba magtransfer from your POSB/DBS account to your Au account? nagtry ako kahapon for 1Sgd sana kaso mas mahal pa ang fee (20 ++ sgd). what can you recommend for money transfer from Sg to Au?
