Just to share, i was able to get a job within 2 weeks as a casual employee sa woolies and another full time role after a month from my arrival. At the moment 2 jobs, di kalakihan sweldo pero okay na din kasi stress free at hindi katulad ng trabaho ko from where i came from.i came here with very minimum expectations. Nagaapply pa din baka sakali mkasilat ng related sa profession pero not actively looking. Basta masipag at di mapili, makakakuha ng work to get by with additional savings if di naman ganun kaluho..

@se29m bro since you got the woolies job at perth, do u mind if I ask the CV format you submitted in applying for this job? Thru website or thru their office ka nag apply don? Hope you could shed light. Plan ko sana di na rin pumili ng job basta malapit sa house na tutuluyan ko papatulan ko na. Dikit kasi ang date ng flight ko sa pagsunod ng misis ko and 4 kids. Traumatic if pagdating nila no job pa daddy nila kaya baka naman pwede pa-refer na rin para medyo kasado na kahit casual job lang muna. Yoko lang mabakante pag arrive ko. Thanks!

I got a job after 2 months.. I arrived March 14 and landed my first job May 11

I became active in job hunting after like 2-3 weeks of being here. Nag start ako mag cleaning job bandang last 2 weeks nung april and 1st week ng may..:) tapos raket raket sa airtasker hehe

After 2 months 5 days, nagkaroon ako ng job offer from a company in Brisbane. Tiwala lang and keep yourself open to other opportunities. Nung mga time na active jobseeker din ako at kahit casual jobs wala, nag volunteer work ako sa Jamie's Ministry of Food as food trainer's assistant to gain confidence and to blend in din with the locals

@caylin yeah pretty much depressing nga kc saten sa Philippines pag accountant ka wlang hirap maghanap ng work, cla pa magpipilit sau umattend ng interview. hehe. well as of now im just enjoying my life as a housewife, im treating it as my rest na rin from several years of working in Philippines. Afterwards, cguro i will pay for internship to gain local experience or apply for other part time jobs.

Hello po, ask Lang po any tips for job hunting. I'm on 485 visa recent grad of acctng, wala ako experience back home pero nag internship ako as part uni course. I tried applying online pero until now unsuccessful, mostly preferred with experience and wala din ako connections to refer me. Question may effect ba na di pa ako pr? Or based talaga sila sa experience? Kelangan ba na may kilala ka para marefer ka nila sa company?

@janine0511 hi try doing tax seminar by H&R Block, it runs every Feb. My friend did this and she eventually got absorbed. Try submitting in person sa mga accounting firms, you never know they might be looking for staff. Yes, they are looking for experience but somehow your internship should have bearing din. Anyway, goodluck sa job hunting!

Hello po sa lahat. share ko po these few basic tips na sna will lift your hopes to fighting spirit level. I was able to land a job 5 weeks after IED related sa profession ko.
1. give priority po to apply sa jobs na alam nyo tlaga gawin based sa work experience nyo or sa non-work hobby or skill(s) nyo. npkalaki po effect nyan sa pg gawa nyo ng resume nyo. without you noticing it.
2. always always rephrase po nyo achievements, skills, at work experience sa resume nyo using the exact technical terms at emphasised terms na ginamit sa job description nung job opening, at submit only plain word resumes without tables, headers, footers. as in plain structuring lng po tlaga. this will get your chances higher to be shortlisted by shortlisting softwares.
3. approach recruiters din po and initiate to inform them na open kayo for temporary/contractual roles, di lng permanent. madalas po kase madami alam recruiters na openings bago pa mailantad sa public yung opening dahil sa lawak ng network nila.
