@Shengsevilla yung local experience po ba na makokonsider is yong related lng nung occupation mo? how about po yung mga odd jobs? thanks po.
Hi! i was referring to accounting jobs syempre..kasi pumunta nmn ako dito to pursue my accounting career...bout sa odd jobs, i think depende un kung anong jobs ang tinutukoy mo at depende sa employer kun hire ka kht wala kang local exp. I think for odd jobs, kht walang local exp basta there is someone that could vouch for you for the job. Good luck!

Hi, I know this quiet off the topic..but somehow relevant. I am planning to try my luck (assessement) next year, how much do I really need to prepare up to the last step (VISA grant) assuming I pass the assessment. I am a CPA and currently residing in Dubai.

Your response will be very much appreciated.

Hi @crizzy. Visa fees and visa requirements are changing every year. You can check the current visa charges for general skilled migrants on this link

    http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/990i.pdf

as side from that, below were the costs/charges that i have incurred (but it may have increased na):
CPA Australia Assessment Fee -$475AU ngaun, pro nung time ko $350 lang yata yan (there are other migration assessment body aside from CPA Australia)

    IELTS (british council) 850 AED

NBI Clearance (if required) - i think 100AED sa Phil Consul sa Dubai. advise ko magpakuha ka na lang sa pinas or pag umuwi ka kumuha

Medical Fee - 780AED sa Dubai London Clinic - DFC branch

UAE Police clearance - 150AED ( naka 3 ako kasi bilis maexpire kc 3 mos validity lng. Kumuha pa kasi ko bgo ako umalis dun, just in case)

Visa Stamping - Free. Australian Consulate's office is at Bur Juman Business Tower

Every year nagbabago yan, but just to give you an idea. Good luck!

    Guys,

I am proud to say that we got the positive skills assessment from CPA Australia just a few hours ago! Wifey got 12 out of 12 from Subjects (including the dreaded accounting theory) - sa work experience, all her experience from both external audit and finance manager were comparable to the work of an Accountant (General)

We just completed the submission of our EOI an hour back - hopefully makahabol for the selection this weekend! :)

mahirap din maghanap dito sa queensland, although dito kami sa cairns, regional na sya para libre bahay namin, pero naghanap na rin ako sa brisbane with no luck so far. Good luck sa job hunt mo.
We might move there kung sakaling malipat ako ng work place. Baka mabigyan mo ako ng idea at kung saang part ng Cairns magandang mag-settle for a family with 2 kids. Thanks!

Unfortunately, wala kc direct number ung skin, comp office number lng meron.

Dun po ba sa EOI humihingi rin ng assessment for work exp? Iniicip kc nmin na qualification lng ipa assess since DIAC pa rin mag decide kng ilang points ibigay sa work exp, tho they also consider the advice of CPAA/ICAA/IPA on work exp.

    Hi @dreambig - salamat! :)

to answer your question, hindi po isang subject ang accounting theory nya rather it was a mixture of bits and pieces of more than 5 core accounting subjects - basically what my wife did was to make a tabular presentation of all the topics for accounting theory and place in a corresponding column a reference of where she thought was that discussed (i.e. Financial Accounting, Theory of Accounts, etc) during her time in college.

I dunno if you are aware of this but I shall give you the link of CPA Australia for their topics on the Accounting Theory Core Knowledge Area - http://www.cpaaustralia.com.au/cps/rde/xchg/cpa-site/hs.xsl/pd-cpa-program-foundation-level-structure-accounting-concepts.html

    Hope this helps! :)

Unfortunately, wala kc direct number ung skin, comp office number lng meron.

Dun po ba sa EOI humihingi rin ng assessment for work exp? Iniicip kc nmin na qualification lng ipa assess since DIAC pa rin mag decide kng ilang points ibigay sa work exp, tho they also consider the advice of CPAA/ICAA/IPA on work exp.
Hi again @dreambig - my wifey's work reference papers are as follows:

Company 1 - it was signed by the HR Manager together with her direct contact number and it includes a comprehensive list of all her tasks for her tenure with the company.

Company 2 - HR only provided a COE which outlined her tenure in the company, her last drawn salary, her job titles. It did not specify any tasks as they say it is against company policy to provide such. HR though, indicated their contact details there. What we did to remedy was we came up with a statutory declaration which indicated the reason why we cannot provide a list of task in the company letterhead. We then included in the statutory declaration her specific task.

Company 3 - HR only provided a COE which outlined her tenure in the company, her last drawn salary, her job titles. It did not specify any tasks as they say it is against company policy to provide such. HR also indicated their contact details there. The specific task was provided by her immediate boss in a company letterhead so there was no problem here.

Hindi naman hinihingi yung work experience sa paglodge ng EOI however I do believe the opinion of the assessing body is very important. Think of it this way, they assessing body would be in the best position to know whether your experience would be considered relevant or not as they specialized on this particular field. And DIAC naman, they are sort of generalist. Although sinasabi na DIAC are the ones who gives the points, in my opinion malaking weight kung yung claim mo is being backed by the opinion of the assessing body.

    Hope this helps! :)
