TBH, this is only based on my experience and mga tao na nakakausap ko sa workplace ko..this is not to discourage you, this is to just give u an idea..It's really challenging and cutthroat pero still depende kung saang lugar ka tlg..Im here sa Sydney and im located sa north shore area..even mga lab managers na nakakausap ko sa work place ko (government hospitals) they even said na mahirap na nga raw tlg makapasok lalo na sa mga wala pang AIMS na katulad ko..ung mga qualified na like either dto ng study or nakapasa na ng AIMS, mas mataas ang chance na makapasok especially sa mga private institution..but with regards sa difficulty, mahirap tlg coz of overflowing of new graduates and overseas skilled migrants as well pero hindi impossible makapasok..its just for me, slowly narerealize ko na probably ang MLS ay not for me if there are other options available.
This is from public hospitals huh, I haven't spoken to anyone from private, once na nakapasa ka ng AIMS exam, dba Medical Laboratory Scientist ang category mo, pero dto sa area namin, instead na Scientific Officer ang employment mo, ibababa ka nila to Technical Officer pra mejo mababa ang pasahod nila sayo tapos mggng Scientific officer ka lang after few years pa ata pero it doesn't matter kc ang importante nakapasok ka na sa lab or may work ka then u can just work ur way in..its just that maraming nakaabang and you just have to be patient..this is just my two cents..its really up to u parin how u gonna make it work.
All the best! ;-)

Always refer to the DIBP website.
Tapos twice a year lang ung exam.
Mas malaki yung chance na mabilis ma-invite ung may 65 points and up.

The way I see it, it seems like they are inviting those who have high points first. During the first round last July, there are lots of 80 pointers who got invited. The second round, majority are 70+ and the 80 pointers are significantly decreased. If the trend goes, maybe in the next 2 rounds they will start inviting 60 pointers. Thank you very much Ma'am for the info.

Sabi nung isa kong ksama sa work..

Since Im not too confident that I would pass this upcoming exam and its already been a decade since I took the local board exam, Im planning to update my knowledge with current infos about MLS by enrolling myself in uni, para bang mgrrefresher course ako and magttake ako ng mga subject na wala don sa philippine uni subjects natin pero Im still doing some research first and asking around before committing myself sa ilang taon ulit na pag aaral lol!
With AIMS accredited undergrad degrees and school here, unfortunately limited nalang ung course na accredited nila and nabawasan pa ung school na accredited nila dto sa Sydney..dati UTS accredited nila pati course na biomedical science, ngayon hindi na..Charles Sturt university nalang at karamihan ay Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science nalang ang accredited nila :-(
With regards with masters degree, I think what u said about master's degree are soo true kc may nagsabi narin sakin nyan dto sa forum na mahirap ngang makakita ng work ang ngmaster's or may PhD unless towards research tlaga ang gusto nila puntahan..
With regards to TAFE/ vocational nman, nag inquire narin ako minsan, sabi nila I can apply for RPL (recognition of prior learning) pra ma credit ung ibang subjects at kunin ko nalang dw ung mga subjects na wala sa transcript of record ko then pag natapos ko ung course, I can work directly as TO...I don't mean to discourage anyone here huh, im just sharing of what I know...sometimes it feels like I just want to change career nalang to earn more or get a more stable job, I'm torn between taking biomedical engineering (pra kahit papano connected parin sa medical science) or just stay with MLS but let's see..hopefully end of this year, makapg decide na tlg ako kung ano gusto ko gawin sa buhay lol!
Goodluck sa lahat ng mgttake ng exam this september and balitaan tayo huh about the exam ;-)
