I landed a job as an Inside Sales Officer pero in the same electronics industry pa rin naman. Ang importante ay makakuha ka ng long term visa (with work rights) to Australia, the rest is up to you once you're here. Good luck on your application! Cheers!

Ang mas importante sa kanila eh kung may legal rights/visa ka to work and stay in Australia.

Hi I don't know if this is the right forum to ask this. But, how much is needed to bring in Australia when you make your Big Move? Base on your experiences, how much yung dinala nyo nung nag big move kayo. Or if you will suggest someone na magmamake ng Big Move, how much at least yung dala nya? Thank you sa mga sasagot

@hopeful_mea Thank you for the reply. Mejo malaki pala. And wala pa kasi ako kilala na pwede pagstayan for a couple of weeks para maghanap ng work dun.

@rvrecabar Dala namin AUD7400 family of 3. In the span of 4 months nagastos $3000 - di pa kami nag babayad ng rent nyan kasi meron kami relative dito.

I suggest wag muna masyado mapili. Kahit mababa lang pay ng job ay tanggapin muna kasi kaya na makabayad ng rent and living expenses plus some savings.

@Liolaeus Thanks for the reply. Yes hindi naman ako mapili when it comes to work and sa place na titirhan. Ok na nga ako kung bedspace lang talaga as long as may uuwian lang. Sa work hindi din ako mapili when it comes sa initial salary. Need ko lang magadjust sa new environment and mas madali na maghanap ng work as long as covered ka na financially jan.

hi guys, question po sa mga taga sg on transferring money to AU from local banks here (UOB/DBS). So pag nagcreate ka online ng account sa bank of choice mo (NAB, ANZ, CommBank, Westpac, etc...) , you can start transferring na even without activating your newly created account dba..(provided you activate your account within a year of creation)

Pano po kayo nagtransfer (eg from DBS/POSB/UOB) ?
    - via DBS/UOB Remittance po ba?
    - or you register your newly created AU account as other bank/payee and just do Fund transfer directly? (like we usually do (uob to dbs / dbs to uob)) ...

parang ayaw ko na kasi magopen pa ng 3rd party account like pay2home and para direcho na.. hope someone can share their exp. thank you!!

a year from now, you will wish you had started today

@eujin. i tried both ofx.com and dbs remit. mas maganda pa ang dbs remit. you may want to monitor the exchange rates. the rate was good last early june. ngayon bumababa na ang SG against AUD > http://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=SGD&to=AUD&view=1Y.

@eujin. i think what you're saying is kasi you need to go to the branch to activate the account on arrival. ako kasi i activated my acct from a different branch than what was indicated in the letter. so it didn't really matter which branch my acct was opened.

https://www.nationalaustraliabank.com/nabglobal/en/banking/migrant-banking/set-up-your-banking/FAQs. "Please refer to your ‘welcome letter’ for instructions about what to do once you arrive in Australia. In some cases you will need to make an appointment and in other cases you can simply visit a branch to be identified without an appointment. Your ‘welcome letter’ will provide details of what you need to do for your circumstances.".

I got my ATM sent to me via post sa Australian address ko.

If you've set up the AUS account, try to send a small amount just so you know you have the right account details.

    Hello!

Sorry I know meron na siguro nagtanong or nag post nito sa thread. Sorry if paulit ulit.

Newbie question. will go to Adelaide this October (SubEntVisa)
Titira muna kami sa house ng aunt ko but we want to move out kapag nakahanap ng work agad. mahirap kasi yung nakikitira lang kahit bed space lang we are good, di kami maarte.

What is the best thing to do to bring the money in AUS? Ipapalit ko na dito sa Pilipinas sa mga money changer (1aud=40php) or open a bank account na meron sa AUS?

    Salamat sa makakasagot.
(1st time mag aabroad at titira sa abroad ng matagal)

Yes, okay lang - if the NAB application allows it. I think may question kung kelan ka mag initial entry, I haven't tested pero baka merong validation na if xx amount of time, di ka makapag proceed sa creation ng account.
