Hi guys.

NEW here and I need help. Will start processing 189 visa, and unahin ko sana tong Skills Assessment (ACS).

Personal Info:

26 yrs old.
Graduate of BS-Information Technology in UE Manila.
Working as SAP Consultant since Nov 2012

Questions/Help needed

For ACS Assessment, SAP consultant may fall under ICT Business Analyst or Systems Analyst. Ano ma-advise niyo po na ipa-assess sa dalawa? Same lang kasi lahat "Employment Duties" and "Description of Closely Related Core ICT Units" sa ANZSCO Code InformationVersion 42017 . So hindi ko alam under what code talaga kami? Meron po ba dito SAP consultants rin? Technically, we're doing both talaga - business and systems analysis.
Sa ACS ba, since 5 years ang work experience ko outside Australia as IT, babawasan nila ng 2 years. So a total of 3 years lang ang credited kong work experience? If so, this is only 5 points?
I also noticed for IT professionals na halos lahat po kayo is more than 5 years work experience na, do I need to gain more years of experience before I start processing?

@HELEN28 I think System Analyst po yung inyo but double check mo na lang kung saan ka mismo mag fall.

- 2 years yun minimum na deducation ng ACS. if ma assessed ka as bachelor's degreee at closely related yung experience mo 2 years lang yun ma deduct sayo but kung ma assessed ka as diploma at closely related and exp mo 5 years and deduction. mag vary yun sa section ng school mo.

- more than 5 years yung mostly nag apply kasi may possibilities na baka mabawasan ng 5 years so nagsisigurado lang siguro at syempre para makakuha din ng points sa work experience.

Masyado competitive ag 261111. Try mo if pede mag fit sa software engr skills mo. Baka nag aabap ka din. 261313. Taas backlog ng 261111 sa invite. Meron pa 65 pointer from aug 2016 ata yun na hindi pa na iinvite. For 70 points last na invite oct 8 2017. Dami din backlogs

@HELEN28 firstly, Business and System Analysts have distinctive tasks listed under ANZSCO so you need to double check which one applies to you. If you do both, choose one which you think you can provide more evidence. Ikaw Lang ang makakadecide nyan. With regards to years of experience to be deducted, if your university is under section 2 of the Country Education Profile, your degree will be recognised as associate degree Lang meaning 5 years mababawasan unless average grade mo is at least 2.0 or higher

Hindi e, talagang functional lang ginagawa ko, pero may skills naman mag ABAP. Yun nga lang sa R&R ng functional, hindi kasi yun kasama.

Ilan years po total work experience mo as SAP SD? (so dineduct nila ng 2 years) And ilang total points nakuha mo from ACS?

@RheaMARN1171933 - oo nga po e, pero kasi same din na ginagawa namin siya. Yung one-liner description nilang dalawa sa ANZSCO, applicable talaga yun sa ginagawa ko.

Saan po pwede makita yung about sa recognition nila depende sa school? I saw under Section 2 yung university ko, pero would it matter po ba if you have honors?
Kasi kung 5 years lang din ibabawas sakin, sayang naman po - at wag na lang siguro muna ako pa-assess if ganon. Sayang bayad. hehe

@Hunter_08 THANK YOU! Yung isang SAP SD - ICT Business Analyst siya nag paassess. Nag pa consult rin ako sa Respall, sabi nga nung agent ICT Business Analyst daw. Pero kung mas marami backlog ang ICT Business Analayst, baka mag Systems Analyst na lang ako?

Section 2 lang yung school ko, pero sana may bearing if may honors? and if SAP Certified, would you know if may bearing po yun?

@HELEN28 if that's the case, you would need to decide which occupation you can provide the most evidences at the end of the day, there should be a role that dominates your profile. All assessing authorities considers qualifications based on the Country Education Profile which is linke to the Ministry of Education. Only institutions and professionals subscribe to this hence the reason why I can easily check. Like what I mentioned if your average grade is at least 2.0, they'll recognise this as bachelor degree equivalent.

Skills assessment timing is a bit of catch 22 wherein if you do it now you risk on claiming more years but if you do it later, you risk the possibility of the occupation being off the list as well as changes in rules. Have a think about your plan of delaying it. If they are to take 5 years, you would need to wait at least 3 years to claim at least 5 points. By then, potentially rules have changed and you might not be eligible anymore (no one knows)...is it worth waiting? I normally won't advice my clients to wait. Good luck!

BTW - where can I see the official list of Country Education Profile? I saw from one of the MARA registered agencies that my school is under Section 1. But the link from this forum, under Section 2 siya. So I'm not sure which is the latest?

The official list is through subscription basis. Like what I mentioned, institutions and professionals subscribe to this list and it's not open to the public. The one you saw probably was an extract list and may not be the most updated versions.

So, most likely, equivalent to AQF Bachelor's Degree yung sayo with 2 years deduction sa work experience. Hope it helps!

Both ICT Business Analyst and Systems Analyst fall under "2611" ANZSCO code, therefore backlogs of invitation are valid for these two.

Also, what do you think would be the assessment for an ongoing Masters (directly related to occupation) from a section 2 school, completed all academic units but on going thesis 1? thank you

@chmscrbbrfck Hello, Mapua Makati is Section 2.

To get bachelors degree, you need an average grade of 1.00 to 2.00 for 4 years full time study with less than 185 units.

If grades is below 2.00, associate degree will be given.

Bachelors degree ka din if you take 5 years full time with 200+ units and/or have evidence passing PRC.

You can be assessed as AQF bachelors degree din, if you are tag as associate degree and completed your masters after your bachelors with at least 30 units.

Hi everyone,

I am planning to start applying for 189 visa but might need some advise regarding my quite tricky situation. First, I would like to give you my background.

I have been working here in Brisbane for more than 2 years now as a Analyst/Developer under 457 visa. I was granted 457 visa on July 2015 and I worked for my sponsoring employer until April 2017 (less than 2 years). I then applied for a job with another employer and thankfully got hired. They processed the transfer of my 457 visa sponsorship and I am now working for them.

I started my career in IT in 2006 in Manila and I have been a programmer/developer ever since. I had worked for several companies in Manila.

Now, my questions are:
- will I have issues with ACS assesment since I don't have IT college degree? (I am a Mathematics graduate with very little IT subjects in my transcript. Btw, I am a graduate of a section 1 uni.)
- will there be an issue if I wouldn't be able to provide all work references since some of them are already gone?
