My first mock test last night. I tried all the templates in speaking @heprex and i was happy with my result. Yet i need to focus more on reading and other sub test. Pero last night i was sleepy and not to think much esp in reading and listening. Ang speaking ang natatakotan ko eh. Pero yun pa ang mataas. Dahil sa template and strategies dito sa forum. Hoping for the better result on my incoming exam. I am aiming for 65. God bless us all.

Thank you ng madaming madami @Heprex and @Supersaiyan sa comments nyo.. yung last exam ko super baba ng speaking ko, di nga umabot ng competent kaya nagdecide ako to have a break muna kasi stressful and traumatic yung result.. nag-change lang ako ng strategy ngayon, totally different from my last exams, and thank you sa comment nyo at least somehow nakikita ko na OK yung strategy ko ngayon.. thank you ng mdami..

Naka-87 na ko sa speaking, pero 69 lang sa listening.

Feeling ko ung un humila ng scores ko. Thankyou

For repeat sentence, as much as possible ay fluent pa din dapat. Ok lang na hindi mo maperfect, ako nga 5/10 lang talaga yung tama ko pero make sure na 50% of the words ay kuha mo.

For retell lecture, sulat ka ng 3 sentences na kaagad para babasahin nalang then template nalang yung iba, 20 - 25 secs will do

Thanks @beetle00, yes, usually, 50% ng sentence nasasabi ko, pero sa tingin ko, 3/10 lang napperfect ko. Nagsusulat ka ba ng 1st letters o nakikinig lang tlga?

Sa retell, may nakapagsabi sakin dapat wala daw conclusion, tama po ba un?

@ClmOptimist for me nakinig lang ako, focus kumbaga. Sa retell lecture naman, template lang. overall, the lecture was accurate and concise and can be used as specific reference for future studies.

Hi Guys,

Finally nakuha ko na rin yung superior after 2nd take.
PTE take 1: L-76, R-75, S-88, W-84
PTE take 2: L-79, R-80, S-90, W-79

Unang una po sa lahat. Gusto ko magpasalamat kila @Heprex @batman @onin111 @Justin @jedh_g . Kung di po sa tulong at tips nyo di ako makakapasa at pati na rin po sa forum na ito.

Ilang months rin ako na nagbabasa dito sa forum natin at natutuwa po ako kasi lahat tayo nagtutulugan dito. Totoo nga po sabi nila kapag sinwerte ka eh bubuhos talaga. Siguro nadaan ko na rin sa dasal kasi sakto lang yung scores ko sa L,R,W.

Maraming salamat po. Tiwala lang.

@Heprex , im taking PTE on 23rd Feb. Na-underestimate ko masyado ung sa preparation. I started reviewing last Thursday since wala ako pasok until Sunday. Seems like 4 days preparation is not enough, ndi ko na mare-sched ung exam kasi 6 days na lng exam day ko na. I'm really struggling sa speaking, naba blanko ako lalo sa re-tell lecture and describe image. I started reviewing using e2 language pero ang hirap pla pag i-apply lalo pag time-pressured. Panic mode na ako!

Ako po nag-exam nung Feb. 15 at 2pm. Tapos nung 3pm nag-email na sila about the confirmation of results kaso di ko pa binuksan sa PTE website kasi usually blanko or wala pang laman yung scores. Around 10pm binuksan ko sa PTE website and yun meron na.

Eto po yung techniques ko.

Speaking:

Read aloud - Read like a news reader. Di masyadong malakas yung pagsasalita ko and dapat wag masyadong malakas yung paghinga kasi naririnig yung during mic testing. I recommend na basahin nyo muna ng mabilis during the 40 sec na practice time. Tapos mapapansin nyo yung mga may comma or period. Dapat may slight pause sa comma tapos sa period is full pause. While reading take note nyo rin yung mga groud of phrases na nahihirapan/nauutal kayo din practisin nyo ng mabilis para alam mo na basahin kapag time is up na. Lastly, speak confidently.

Repeat Sentence - Dito naman ang technique ko eh di ako nagsulat basta nakinig ako with closed eyes and focus. Just in case na may part ako na namiss/di naintidihan sa sinabi nung audio. Ang ginagawa ko eh binabanggit ko yung word na parang katunog nya and then proceed dun sa mga words na alam kong sinabi nya.

Describe image-
Dito ako medyo nahirapan kasi meron yung mga 2 line charts ang nakalagay. Dapat memorize nyo yung template nila Sir @Heprex

The pie/line/bar chart/table/diagram/image projected on the screen illustrates the information about ____.

Based on the data provided, the highest sector is ____ with ____ while the lowest sector is ____ with ____.

It is surprising to see that the ___ is the second highest sector is ____ with blank.

Overall, the pie/line/bar chart/table/diagram/image seems accurate and concise and can be used as a reference for future studies.

With regards to timing, dapat aware ka sa time left. Kapag nasa 3/4 na yung bar dapat nasa conclusion or patapos ka na sa conclusion. Sa lahat ng charts/image/process yan lang conclusion ko wala ng iba pa. Kung masyadong complicated yung chart na binigay, pili ka lang ng isang point sa chart/bar na pinakamataas and pinakamababa. Sa akin may 2 line charts yung nakalagay ang ginawa ko pinili ko yung pinakamataas sa line chart 1 and then dinescribe ko din yung lowest sa line chart 2 then yun.

Re-tell lecture - Ginamit ko lang yung template.

Tapos same conclusion sa describe image wala ng ima. While listening, kumuha ka lang ng 2-3 details from the lecture then i-fit mo siya dun sa mga template. Depende sa time left, either 2 or 3 details lang nababangit ko. basta kapag 3/4 of time na lang ang natitira dapat nagcoconclude ka na.

Answer short question - Actually nawala ako dito. Kasi akala ko nasa repeat sentence ako ulit. After magsalita nung speaker eh inulit ko yung sinabi nya hahah. tapos pagkatingin ko sa monitore answer short question pala. Gulat nga ako nung 90 ko yung speaking considering na may mali akong isa na ASQ. pero dito sa part na to either you know the answer or you don't. general knowledge ito.

Hello everyone. I just did a mock test today, sa 23rd Feb na exam ko. Sadly, ang baba ng speaking at reading ko. Nabasa ko nmn ng maayos lahat sa reading tasks, ung sa re-tell lecture parang 2 lng nai-tama ko. Yung pronunciation ko 22 lng..waaaahh.. Anu kaya ang problema? Nahahatak din ba ng speaking quality ang reading kaya both mababa scores ko dun?

@Kaye28 pronunciation refers sa clarity ng speaking mo, which could be easily affected by environment noise and mostly by the quality of mic you had during your exam. common ang mababa ang speaking sa mock test dahil dyan. pati din reading, since read aloud contributes to both Speaking and Reading scores.
