@jammmy tricky. just make sure ma nas huli ma grant grant ang 189 mo. kasi pag na grant ang 189 first then you forgot to cancel your 457 application and na grant din, yung last visa grant ang effective

@cucci Thank you po!Mukhang I'll go for option number 2 based po sa nasabi nyo, mas beneficial po sya sakin.
Salamat po uli! Hopefully ma-grant po agad ang 457 ko. :)

@Cassey Nsa pinas po ako at the moment. I was actually waiting for my 189 invitation last year pa and just discovered recently na mas mataas na points pala yung iniinvite nila so I took PTE para maging 75 pts ako, luckily naging 75 at na-invite po ako.

Thank you po! I'll review my contract and will do my research dito sa forum for the documents I need to prepare in lodging a 189 visa. :)

@jammmy basta dont forget to cancel your 457 if balak mo antayin kung ano mauunang visa kasi the most recent visa granted is yun yung magiging effective visa mo. All the best more power to nurses!

@jammmy Nasa Pinas ka pala. Just a heads up, At the moment medyo matagal ang grant ng 457. We have a friend who applied last January dito siya sa Au now on a TV, hanggang ngayon wala pang grant kahit na pinaexpedite na ng company. And if you’ll based it on the Global Processing Times, it’s 5 to 11 mos of wait. Anyway, meron ka pa namang ilang months to sort it out bago maexpire EOI ng 189 mo. All the best,

@jammmy hmm. mejo tricky tong situation na to a.. I think its your personal choice on this one. At the same time, observe mo yung trend ng processing times. If I were you since may invite ka nanaman, lodge kana and wait mo nalang yun. The reason is, 189 nowadays tends to be processed faster provided na all documents were provided during the time of lodgement. Besides parang madodoble lang babayaran mo for a 457. Ganon kasi naging path ko, mejo sigurista lang. hehe Kaya nag 457 muna ko, then after 2 weeks, naglodge na ko 189. Ngayong feb lang nagrant yung PR. Sept pa ko nag lodge. Sayang yung naging time ko if ever. + yung waiting time pa dito and job search.

@MissAussie Hi, yung sa claiming ng points it should be a paid experience. It’s only needed for the paid work experience.

@hpizon Marami naman pong nagssponsor. More on regional ang sponsorships. When I applied 2 years ago, I was offered 457's from Townsville, Bundaberg and here in Hervey Bay.

You can tell them that you're looking for sponsorship kaya ililine up ka lang nila sa mga hospitals na nagssponsor nga. I was offered 2 jobs din pala sa melb from sugarman. Both of which ay nagooffer ng sponsorship.

@Avon3737 actually, ahpra ang magdedecide din nyan. Mag sstart ka muna with your application sa ahpra. And mag rereply sila with the loe. Isusuggest naman nila dun kung ano talaga yung pwede mong kunen to be registered. Pero at the end of the day, it's still up to you. Siguro the conversion course is much in depth as compared to the BP. Gano po ba katagal yung gap?

@dy3p yung last related experience ko po was 2012 to 2013. may nabasa po kasi ako na mas ok yung conversion if plano ko magstay ng australia since mas accepted nila yung 2 years of education. thanks po sa pag reply.

@Avon3737 Im not sure about "mas accepted". Both are accepted naman. When you say na "if plano magstay", you do know na you will be on a student visa if you do the conversion right? Baka may ibang case dito like you pero I do know people na 1 year gap and AHPRA still suggested the BP. Im not sure about 5 years though.

This is written on the fact sheet of application for registration for re-entry to practice as of 2013. But I presume that this is for AU nurses.

    1. Returning to practice after a period of absence - if the absence has been for:

    >less than five years, it is the individual’s professional responsibility to undertake an evaluation of their readiness to re-enter practice, or

    >five years or more, the individual needs to advise the relevant state or territory board or registration committee of the NMBA using the process outlined below.

Maybe may idea dito si @Cassey . Pero I'll definitely ring ahpra for this and let you know as soon as I get an answer tomorrow. :)

@Avon3737 You are allowed to do BP as long as the experience is within the last 5yrs prior to lodging and as long as it’s equivalent to 450hours.
In all honesty, hindi naman nagmamatter kung ano yung tinapos rito sa Au, mapa BP or Conversion Course man. Most employers if not all ang tinitignan is yung experience. At the end of the day, pareho lang naman maglelead sa registration yung dalawa. Yung iba, they opt for a longer course dahil they needed extra points and they want the 485 visa that comes with the 2yrs course. It will all boil down kung ano yung purpose mo. :)

@Cassey thank you. How many years po ba ang 450 hours? I have 1 year and 6 months po last 2012 to 2013. Kaso po after 1 year and 6 months of experience umalis po ako for dubai kaso ibang work. Thank you po
