    hi guys.
I don't mean to pop anyone's bubble. andito ako to tell you anu status ng employment natin dito sa Australia. Guys, its challenging. kung wala si hubby dito ewan ako napanu nako. I am
here already in queensland (Toowoomba-suburb). kung wayback 2010 onwards tayo napapunta dito, its so easy to get a job sa lab. kung nagumpisa kayu sa page1 ng thread na ito, mapapansin nyu napakadali nila matanggap.

I had one interview in Sydney, its a good Pathology lab, but unfortunately it was unsuccessful. I thought makukuha ko ung job, kasi ang ganda ng feedback nya about my lab work experience.

Napaisip ako ganun na ka-tight ang competition.

If may ASCPi, try US, atleast doon my work na at makukuha mo pa greencard mo.

@vangie hi sis, welcome to Toowoomba. am sorry to hear that you are having a hard time looking for work here. have you tried the base, st vincent and st andrews? i am encouraging my sister to come here kasi medtech din siya, if this is the case baka change plans na lang muna and pursue the ASCPi.

@agentKams habang hindi pa nagagawa assessment sa AIMS then eventually Professional examinations, might as well pursue ASCPi. Recently yan ang napagkwentuhan namin ni Afonso31 bakit di n lng mag ascpi, may chance makakuha ng employment, kesa visa 189 nga, hirap nmn maka-in.

Wala ako intensyun na idismaya kayo na co-medtechs ko ha. eto lang ang current status natin as lab scientist dito sa australia. kung purely Philippine-based ang work experience natin, hirap maka-in, tulad ko. However, kung may SG, UK, US or any 1st world country laboratory work experience ka you have a better edge.

    Hello mga katusok!

    I'm back! lol!

How's everybody?? Kumusta and March 2018 exam?

It's been awhile! I was soooo busy with everything kaya pasensya na sa mga ngmessage or ng ask sakin at hindi ko kayo nasagot agad...pag ngkatime ulit ako this week, ioopen ko lahat ng notifications and messages nyo po for me.

Nagbabalik ako sa forum nato kc mgttry ulit ako mgexam this September and just thought of visiting again this page as malaki ang naitulong sakin ng page/ forum nato to gather infos.

Been busy with Uni (part-time) and work (full-time).

Ngsstudy ako ng engineering currently kc 100% true ung sinasabi ni @vangie about our employability dto sa Australia especially here sa Sydney...tska unti-unti na nilang pinaprivatize mga hospitals dto kya hindi na super bright future natin mga Pinoy MT dto...may future pa rin, don't get me wrong, but we just have to be super patient with it kc it could take time bago pa natin marating ang pinapangarap natin position sa laboratory.

When I started uni this February, I was praying to God na sna mgkaron ako ng weekend shifts sa current work ko pra may penalty rate at mejo mataas ang salary... I needed an additional salary for other expenses of my Uni and ngholiday kc kaming mag asawa sa USA nitong April..so ngdecide ako mgwork ng weekend shifts and mglook for additonal part-time income and pinalad naman na makakuha ng sideline as a dental assistant for 10 hours per week which gave me extra income per fortnight on top of my weekend shifts...but because im attending Uni as well, sobrang nahihirapan ako up to now na i-balance ang work-Uni-married life-familial obligation and now I'm contemplating on transferring to a different degree na much easier compare sa engineering as that degree is demanding sa time unlike other degree....

This year umuulan tlg ng work opportunities sakin, kaso hndi nga lang sa field natin pero at least Im earning money for my family.

This time I might have to look for other opportunities other than being a MLS and to consider working for money and not for my own desire only.

Hindi parin ako nawawalan ng pag-asa kya mgttake ulit ako this September. Again, Im posting this not to discourage anybody, but to tell my side of reality...marami parin work dto, but try to broaden your options.

November 2011 to February 2012- First entry to Australia with a Tourist Visa
December 2012- Second entry with a Fiancee Visa

July 2013- Temporary Visa granted after I got married
    December 2015- Permanent Visa granted

I'm planning to take AIMS po next year kasi kakatake ko lang po ng IELTS this May and hindi aabot yung pagpapaassess ko this June 1. As much as possible gusto ko na po sana makasunod doon sakanila.

Naisip ko din po mag-STUDENT VISA, tapos yung course will be Laboratory Technology under TAS TAFE. pero hindi ko din po sure kung may kukuha pa rin sakin na employer after ng 94 weeks na study ko doon.

BTW, nasa Tasmania yung family ko and I'm 25 years old with 4 years of experience (currently employed and planning to resign this June 2018)

    Question ko lang po

    2. Should I stick with Laboratory Technology course or change course na lang po?
    3. Any suggestion/recommendation po kung paano ako makakasunod doon?

Thank you po!

Kung may option to go to the US grab na agad un kasi wala ka initial gastos dun lahat sagot employer. kasi working visa ka.

Pero lagi nyo tatandaan wala naman madali lahat pinaghihirapan. at Iba pa din ang buhay US man or Australia kesa sa pinas.

That's the reality. Tama ang sinabi ni @vangie at @NicoDC .If you are member of medtechlounge in FB I raised that topic which is better for us if AU ba or US. Most of the comments we're from US medtechs at positive ang feedback nila kc nga once you reached there may work ka na at may relocation assistance pa. Though there were also AU comments na they never regretted their decision na nag AU sila. Pero ang tanong kelan ba sila nakapunta? Recently lng ba o 10 yrs back pa? I am reiterating like vangie said hndi namen kayo dinidiscourage mag AU, we are saying this for you to think thrice o madami pang beses if AU ba talaga ang gusto nyo. May advantages at disadvantages ang both countries. Madami nag sasabi if you are looking for long term choose AU. Dont know what exactly they mean maybe dahil sa benefits from the government and maybe because of Trump din kc against siya sa migrants? If you have relatives sa AU ok lang cguro pra may makapag assist sa nyo when you get there. Then also they might have connections na pwede mag refer sa nyo sa work. One member of this forum once said about job hunting "It's not what you know, it's who you know". i got may PR last year but untill now di pa ko nag po-for good sa AU, Kailangan din kc ng malaking pocket money dpat ready ka na wla kang work tilll 6 months maybe. Vangie and I have convo about US sabi ko nga sa knya prang gusto ko ata mag US khit may visa na ko haha. Good luck sa lahat! :)

@Aiza05 may point din c mam aiza. If you are ready to grab the opportunity khit hndi sa field naten ok din. Pwede yun yung maging stepping stone nyo to have connections na pwede sa nyo makapag-refer sa desired field nyo in near future.

@keytiiee kung goal mo is to be with your family, mag visa189 kna. Hurrying to land in oz is not a wise option. Remember the “delayed gratification” in psychology, mas big ang returns mo if you wait. Eto suggestions ko sayo... pero syo parin and desisyun.
    1. Pa–assess kana as Lab.tech muna. (Dami ka docs aayusin dito, kung full-time mo gawin less than 2 weeks matatapos mo...pero kung singit lang sa oras mo at nagduduty kapa 1-2 months mo sya matatapos...possibly)...may bayad to magpacertify true copy ska assessment.
Then bigyan ka invitation to take the professional exams.
    3. Fill up the form, bayad sa exams, forward mo ulit sa aims. Then confirm nila ung date of examination mo.
    4. Review. Di tulad ng iba exams like US, local board, multiple choice.
    5. Kpg nakaexam kna, 10-12 week bago lumabas ang resulta.

...steps na ang nasuggest ko... kesa magstudent visa ka (which is madali); babalik ka din sa steps na ito kpag nagexpire na student visa mo or pwera nlng kung meron sasalo arranged -marriage na pr or citizen syo ( eto ang sad truth na nagyayari sa mga other student visa holder). Hindi lahat ha, OTHERS po. Visa 189 is better kasi kahit saan pede ka maghanap at tumanggap ng work.

Same docs lng nmn ipapasa mo, may dagdag lng ng konti.

Good for you andito na parents mo, to support you all the way.

Goodluck.

Kung ang calling nyo is Oz tlga. Kuha na kyo philippines driver licence (professional or non-professional dpat) kung nasa pinas pa, pede sya magamit dito. Un lng right hand drive dito, opposite sa pinas.

If applying from the Philippines, credit card lang po ba pwede? Or can we pay using our atm/debit card? May nakapagpay po ba dito using debit? Which bank?

@nsasaki Your debit card also needs to have a Visa or MasterCard logo for you to be able to use to pay for AIMS fees. A lot of major banks in the Philippines issue debit cards na may Visa or MasterCard na... Except siguro BPI, may MasterCard logo na sila but hindi pa pwede gamitin for those kinds of transactions.

Sobrahan mo lang yung money mo because these cards have higher exchange rates and may foreign exchange service fee (you will pay in AUD).
