@ChefMa DIY po ako, pero ang gastos ko lang is health exam fees kasi covered ng scholarship ko yung visa fee (nagulat din ako na hindi ako pinabayad nito during visa application) and OSHC (single coverage). Yung health exam fee ko was less than NTD 3k, so almost Php 6k (current forex rate). Yung friend ko na nagpa-medical sa St. Luke's BGC mga 6k din po ang binayad (even if Working Holiday ang inapplyan nyang visa); dun sa other Panel Physician sa Manila parang ganun din ang presyo, if not slightly more expensive.

Student visa fee will cost you Php 22.5k (AUD 560), and your OSHC cost will vary based on your single, couple, or family coverage. Pag single coverage, expect to pay around AUD 1k (Php 40k) for 26 months' coverage; AUD 6k (Php 240k) for couple (2 adults); and AUD 13k (Php 520k) for family (2 adults+children).

So if single coverage ang OSHC mo, you should budget at least Php 68.5k (or round-up natin to Php 70k) for the student visa-related expenses. Increase your budget if you're going to Australia with your partner and/or children.

I'm flying to Australia 3 weeks before the start of classes (so I have enough time to settle down and look for a job), so I'm budgeting at least AUD 2k pocket money to support myself (may distant relative ako na may bahay sa Inner West Sydney so free rent for a few weeks, so no rent expense pa hehe). I'm hoping that will be enough to tide me over for a month or so hehe.

Hope this helps. Goodluck.

*I went to Oz thrice na kasi tsaka nag aral din ako ng Cert course doon kaya familiar na sa akin. Hehe. Ngayon applying for student visa na ako. Mejo kinakabahan din ako. Hahaha. Goodluck sa ating lahat na nag aaply and congrats sa lahat ng na Grant. Have a nice day everyone.

*bago lang po ako dito. Hehe.

@babie sa Queensland ka ba? As far as I know, you can only apply for a blue card once you’re onshore because you need to be verfified by your school. And first aid and cpr, google some institutions that offer one. Around 150 aud yung training yung nakita ko sa Brisbane.

Hi po. I have this funny story.

Dependent po ako ng husband ko. We just got our visa. Thank god. Before po kami nag aply for au, try ng try lang po kaming mag ka baby. Wala eh. Zero. Ngayon, andito na visa namin. Flying to queensland july. Buntis ako. Haha nakooo talaga. 1 month. Okay lang ba mag work ako kahit buntis? Our plan is for me to fly back to phils kapag 7 months na kasi dito ako manganganak and will have my parents take care of our baby.

May naka try na po ba neto? Kaya po ba talagang mag impok kahit student visa? Thabj you po

Guys i have a question. When i took the pte exam, sinabi ko na purpose is migration. Now, im considering a student visa. Im afraid na if it is required to send the exam to DHA, makikita nila yung reason ko for taking the pte. I wanna ask sa mga successful student visa holders: was it required that you forward your pte scores to DHA and/or your school? Or yung pdf copy lang ok na? Thanks!

@MLBS hi. You don’t submit the printed version. You will send your scores to the school and DHA for your visa application directly from the PTE site, that’s the only way.

@MLBS does the PTE exam indicate on the results the purpose of the exam? Was your PTE the Academic type or General? If you're going to universities, they might look for the Academic type of English exam; but try to confirm with the Admissions Office if they will accept General (if that's what you have). The eCoE you get from the university (in my case) will indicate the results of your English proficiency, so you don't need to submit the English exam results to DHA.

@athelene pte kasi is academic lang e, dual purpose na yun (study or for migration). What I worry is that If need ko iforward yung results to DHA, nilagay ko kasi before na ang reason ko to on taking the test is migration, not study. Pag may eCoe na ba, ok na yun? Wala nang hihingiin na english test down the line? I think kasi since digital lang ang result ng PTE, kaya need i forward e, tho may pdf ako ng results.

Hello guys, patapos na ako sa clinical placement, and I'm planning to lodge ng student visa and magtake ng Leadership and Management, however sa Sc600 ko nakalagay ng No Further stay sa condition, can I lodge here while Im in Melbourne, I still have 3 weeks here bago umuwi ng Pinas. If magrant si student visa pwede ba akong umuwi muna ng Pinas ang babalik ng July 20 Kasi july 24 pa ang intake. Thank you

@MLBS I see. During visa application I was only required to provide details of the English test: name of test (IELTS), date of test, test reference number, country where it was taken, and test core. No need to upload a scan of the exam results. I think it won't be an issue naman, since you can simply say (IF they ask lang) that you changed your mind and you want to just study only hehehe.

@MissAussie Please take a look at the following pages first (for complete details):
    Visa Extension
    No Further Stay Fact Sheet

According to these pages, if you have a "No Further Stay" condition under your current visa, you can't lodge for a student visa onshore. I believe you have to leave Australia and lodge the student visa off-shore (you can't send your application to Australian embassy/consulates outside Australia while you're still in Australia).
If you have a 'No further stay' condition on your visa, you cannot apply for another visa while in Australia (except a protection visa or a temporary visa of a specified kind). You must depart Australia no later than on the date on which your visa expires.
If your visa will soon expire
Requests for waiver of 'No Further Stay' conditions cannot be decided 'on the spot' as they require careful consideration against legal criteria. It might not be possible for the Department to make a decision on your request before your visa expires. Lodging a request for waiver of a 'No Further Stay' condition does not automatically mean you will be in Australia lawfully until the request is decided. If your visa expires before the Department can decide your request, you will become unlawful. This has serious consequences.
A 'No Further Stay' condition is a condition that prevents the visa holder from applying for many temporary and permanent visas while they are in Australia. 'No Further Stay' conditions include 8503, 8534 and 8535.

If one of these conditions has been imposed on your visa, you cannot apply for another visa (except a protection visa or a temporary visa of a specified kind, while you are in Australia).

If you don't have the right to remain in Australia, you must depart.

When you depart Australia, a 'No Further Stay' condition will not prevent you from applying for other visas.
The very first part of the student visa application will already ask you where you are applying from and why you are there (if you live outside your home country, you have to tell them what kind of visa do you hold). So from here palang malalaman na ng DHA if eligible ka to apply for student visa or not.

Have you secured your eCoE and other student visa application requirements? In my opinion (FYI I'm no migration expert/agent ha), it might be best to return to Manila first and apply from there para hindi ma-reject yung student visa application (sayang yung visa fee), kasi clear sa website nila na hindi ka pwede mag-apply while you're onshore. Kung 3 weeks away pa ang departure mo from Australia and July intake ka, may risk na hindi umabot ang student visa mo (in time for your course start). Maybe you can consider delaying to the next intake para hindi ka gahulin sa oras for your student visa application?
