    Guys another question.

if I open an online NAB account here in Manila, then after two-three months I arrive to AU for initial entry, can I already get the atm card from the branch already? or will they still deliver the atm card to my AU home address?

If you apply through migrant banking (https://www.nab.com.au/personal/banking/migrant-banking) you will have to pick up the ATM card at the branch they specify in your NAB welcome letter. You will need to bring your ID/Passport, NAB Welcome Letter, and your VISA grant notification for identity verification.

But if you applied normally that requires you to enter your home address in AU, they will most probably send the ATM card to your home address in AU.

Hello, just wanted to ask if you had to give your TIN no as well? I read in the requirements for Commonwealth bank that you need to give it, however, I only have the number not the card. Will that be an issue?

To those who are planning to apply a Westpac account, please be informed that they will not give the ATM card right when you first visit the branch or during ID confirmation.
It will take 7 banking days.

I went to the branch last wednesday.
    I only got it today.

Omgeee! I only got few hundreds in my pocket.
I sent all my money prior to my BM thinking that they will give the card right then and there.

I chose Westpac coz its tied up with my Sg bank so sending money is hassle free.
    No remittance fee.
    1 day clearing.
    Real time balance check.

    Cheers!

Good day mga kabayans. I'm planing to move in Sydney this coming month of May and looking for an options to exchange my peso to AUD.
Maraming slamat po sa mkakasagot sa mga questions ko:

    1. Is it recommended to exchange peso to Aud sa pinas or sa AU country na?
    2. Where to best buy AUD from peso in Australia? I will be based on Sydney and live there together with my sister and her family.
    3. San pong site to best check buying of Aud in Australia?
    4. Is it recommended to open an account from Australian banks right away khit nsa pinas pa ako?
    5. I had accounts on BPI & BDO here sa pinas anu po ang mas duable na bank sa AU (WESTPAC, ANZ, NAB, Commonwealth, st. george bank) in terms of transactions and fees?
    6. Do you recommend using Bpi credit card in transactions from AU?

We're still trying to figure out how to transfer your fund from your Philippine Bank Account (regular savings account) to your designated Australian Bank.

Naginquire ako recently kay BDO regarding wire transfer and they have advised that a Dollar account must be created first prior to wire transfer. Additionally, may holding period din daw yung dollar account prior to withdrawing all the content.

I have inquired also with I-Remit earlier today. According to them you need government issued ID for initial registration at their office in Ortigas. Upon registration they will be giving you a quotation of the intended transaction. So the process will be: Deposit Money to their bank account based on the amount on the quotation then they will transfer it to your Australian bank in one to two working days.

Note: Based on inquiry I have made with BDO, dahil malaki din yun iwiwithdraw kong amount from the account and I want to avoid holding cash, they recommended to have it withdrawn through manager's cheque which you can request from your branch of account. Accordingly, I-remit confirmed that they accept manager's cheque in depositing to their bank account.

Has anyone compared I-remit's exchange rates against other means of transferring money? Is it competitive against wire transferring from the PH bank? Or may iba pang efficient way of transferring your PH savings to your AU bank dito sa Pinas?

Kakaland lng po namin sa Sydney, and just want to correct this. As per border officer, allowed daw EACH person to bring 10000AUD, so if your travelling with your spouse you are allowed 20000AUD.

Ang sabi sa mga comments prior to this date. Considered as one allowable monetary unit ang 10k ang couple/family. So if we rely on their experience, no hindi kayo allowed to bring Each money.

Thank you very much po sa valuable information. God bless po sa inyo. 😊

Kakaland lng po namin sa Sydney, and just want to correct this. As per border officer, allowed daw EACH person to bring 10000AUD, so if your travelling with your spouse you are allowed 20000AUD.

Yeah tama to.

Ok naman po conversion during that time? Thanks

Mates, question lang re: transfer ng funds to AU. Have you heard of iCash by iRemit? May nakagamit na ba nito? If so, kamusta po experience nyo and will you recommend it or not. Thank you in advance.

Hi. I have a question. I was not able to read all the pages, baka may sagot na. Old replies na rin.
For those based in Cebu, did you open an AUD or USD? What bank?

pwede naman, papalitan mo na yung peso mo dyan to aud. Then declare it sa au if more than 10k. May form na ifill-out. Idagdag mo rin yung receipt ng forex and yung proof kung saan mo kinuha yung account mo like bank statement (1 year) and screenshot ng withdrawal slip. Hindi ka na pagsusupetsahan na money laundering pa yan. Kasi matrack na nila kung saan nangaling ang pera.

Ang meron bank kasi ay ANZ pero makati lang yun.
