Hi everyone! In the sponsorship form, what is considered as date of arrival for permanent residence? I initially went to AU in Jan 2015 for my initial entry on PR visa but only stayed for about 2 weeks (haven't really considered residing in AU permanently back then). Then I had to sort out some personal and work stuff, so I was able to return to AU last Apr 2018, this time intending to reside permanently. Should I refer to Jan 2015 or Apr 2018 as my date of arrival? Thanks!

From what I’ve read in different forums, even those under Centrelink benefits and are unemployed stand a chance to be a sponsor. That means it’s not a reason for a visa denial.

Hmm that’s a tricky one. Look, the initial entry date is an indication of your intention to migrate. Thus, for 309 sponsorship it would probably be better to write the same as in 2015, although when you made your initial entry your PR visa took effect in 2015 and it presupposes that you’d started building your life here — looking for employers, establishing residence, saving up and so forth. But the 309 sponsorship is “blind” towards whether the sponsor’s financial capacity to host a partner is from his savings earned in Manila or Aus.
The real issue is towards citizenship eligibility since applying for it requires an absence onshore of not more than 12 months.
But that’s besides the point here. So the answer to your question on which date to write for sponsorship is 2015.
Goodluck!

More than 2yrs married (6yrs+ in a relationship). We also have one child. I think they prioritize mga family applications.

> Hello po..my medical already expired last July 7, 2019. And my husband's NPC will also expire this July 19..any advice po? Should we call or email the immigration about it? We are in our 13 months of waiting. Thanks po.🙂
Hi,
In our case, the medical expired last April 16, but if we check the health assessment section in the immi account it’s still says no health examination required. I haven’t seen anyone whose medicals expireed and we’re asked to redo it prior to visa grant. I guess that’s still valid until they ask for another one. But come to think of it, between a police clearance and medical that have both expired the immi wouldn’t request for a medical which is more expensive. NPC could be renewed either because do you want further delays when they ask for it, or you’d rather wait for them to request it. If you ask me, I’d be confident to think that no other NPC would be required before the visa is granted and it expires again for another year.
Regarding whether you should email them or not, totally up to you but it never hurts to send an email at least to remind them. You’ll never know it might help.
Cheers!

@kindred thanks for the info. just want to ask for ur input again though. i’m planning to get a 52 weeks certificate in accounting course in Cairns and will be living with my bf in the same apartment. i’m hoping to get an employer after the course for working visa. will it help our chances of obtaining a partners visa later on? appreciate your advise.
