    May isa pa kong kwento hahaha

    May ex-colleague ako sa dati kong work sa pinas, nag-move sya sa Oz mga 8 years ahead of me...

    So after nung meeting namin yun, di man lang nangumusta uli.. so dedma lang ako hanap ng work..

    Daming ganyan dito sa Oz hehehe that's the reality.

    Attitude adjustment talaga pagdating dito.

    Migrating and starting life in Australia is a very humbling experience.

    While a lot of migrants are worried about the cost of living in Australia, I'm worried more on the people that I will meet and the adjustments that I have to make as I continue with my journey.

    I'm in Dubai for the past 8 years and sadly, and I have my fair share or witnessed these Filipino traits in this country as well. I think this trait is a subclass of our infamous "crab mentality" and I think we need to be mindful of this bad trait wherever we may be.

    ANZCO COD: 263111 || Computer Network and Systems Engineer
    12.18.2015 || Signed up with a migration agent. Tried DIY to no avail! LOL!
    00.00.0000 || Contemplating for the entire 2016, some miscommunication between my agent as well. Luckily I made it still!
    08.26.2017 || Received Skills Assessment Results from ACS. Praise the Lord!
    06.06.2018 || PTE first attempt: L:81 R: 77 Speaking: 90 W: 82 (2 Points more for Reading! need a superior score, SMH)
    06.12.2018 || PTE 2nd attempt: L:86 R:87 S: 80 W: 79 (Finally got my desired score! Superior! Praises to God!)
    06.25.2018 || Submitted EOI for Visa 189 and 190 NSW (Felt good to submit EOI, little did I know it was just the beginning...)
    12.11.2018 || To God the Glory! Received Visa 189 ITA! Got teary-eyed on this day! called my mom in the Philippines!
    12.18.2018 || Received Wife's Dubai Police Clearance.
    01.12.2019 || Received my Dubai Police Clearance.
    01.14.2019 || Received my SG Police Clearance! worked here between from 2010 to 2011.
    01.16.2019 || Received NBI Clearance from the Philippines. (This took around 2 weeks)
    02.04.2019 || Lodge visa 189 Application!
    02.05 2019 || Schedule the Medical Examination.
    12.17.2019 || Best Christmas gift ever! The day we got our Grant! All the glory and praises to Him!
    04.01.2020 || Initial Entry (Tentative Date)
    07.20.2020 || Big Move Day! (Got out of Quarantine after 14 days)
    09.22.2020 || Got an Offer Letter (1st Job)
    09.13.2021 || Offer Letter (2nd Job) God is good! All the time!

    Could not agree more with this. Just want to add a couple more:-

    1. SHOW SOME GRATITUDE. sa mga mapapalad na tinulungan ng mga relatives na makapunta sa AU, wag naman kayo masyadong feeling privileged. once makarating na kayo sa AU, siguro give yourself 1-2 weeks to settle down and adjust. After that, tumulong naman sana sa gawaing bahay at hindi yung magkukulong ka sa kwarto para lang manuod ng netflix. LOL. aba eh hindi ka naman na bisita. at kung sakali man makakuha ka na ng trabaho, wag pa rin kalimutan tumulong sa bahay. hindi yung aalis ng maaga tapos uuwi gabing gabi na para lang makaiwas sa gawaing bahay. (alam ko na mga style na ganyan!!! hahaha!)

    Observation ko lang satin mga Pinoy, passive aggressive tayo. Kung may natulongan man tayong ganito ang ginagawa, kausapin natin nang maayos at wag na antayin na magkusa or better yet, before helping them, if we expect anything from them, let them know para alam nila papasokan nila. While patience is a virtue, honesty is still the best policy. Hehe...Kung ayaw nila sa conditions mo, di wag nilang kunin ang offer mo. Bumukod sila at gumastos. Hirap sa atin mga pinoy, di natin masabi ng harapan tapos yung galit natin, echichismis natin sa iba. In the end, masisira ang relationship. We are in a foreign land, magtulongan tayo. We must understand that not everyone thinks the way we do kaya communication is the key.

    sobrang agree dito. bahay mo yan, if mabuwisit ka, palayasin mo. hindi naman masama yun. kaysa yung pinapabayaan mo naka tira diyan, tinutulungan mo, pero permisyo at masama na pala sa loob mo. nasa yo naman laht ng alas, palayasin mo lang, maiitindihan naman nung tao yun.

    i have encountered pinoys na matagal nang citizens, most of them are willing to give advices, minsan total opposite ang advices nila.. but both make sense.. in their respective case and experience.

    so we realized for new migrants, better to listen muna sa ibat ibang advices, then filter and choose whats applicable on you.

    I agree that everyone thinks differently. kahit nga kambal magkaiba mag-isip. usually naman, property owner will always set or explain rules prior to letting someone live or use the premises. it's not just about gratitude but is also about common sense.

    Let's say si taong mapalad napaka sinop sa kwarto nya as in sa sobrang sinop mahihiya yung germs na pumasok. lol. pero yung ibang gamit nya at basura nya iniiwan lang nya sa sala? is there something wrong?
    Another, gumamit ng banyo si taong mapalad. nung natapos naiwan lang na nakabukas ang tap sa basin or yung sa shower mismo. not once, not twice but nth times na. is there something wrong?

    Trust me, hindi ako yung tipo ng tao na tahimik lang kapag may nakikitang ayaw na ginagawa. That's why i'm sharing my points here para sa mga mapapalad e hindi tularan.

    And another thing, marami talaga nasisirang relationship sa chismis. chismis nga e. usually hindi totoo. pano kung si mapalad na nakatira sa skin e malikot pala kamay, tapos nung nahuli ko pinaalis ko. tapos sayo pala nakahanap ng matutuluyan. sa tingin mo kelangan ko ba ichismis sayo na malikot ang kamay ni mapalad? or wag ko na lang ichismis kasi makakasira lang sa relationship namin?

    there's nothing wrong with telling the truth. because the truth shall set you free. lol

    @wizardofOz unfortunately, these types of people exist. ok lang sana kung once or twice ginawa. kaso madalas. ang problema, yung hot water pa yung iniiwan di nakasara ng mabuti tapos electric pa ang hot water system mo. good luck sa kuryente.

    @jacraye baka first time makawala sa hawla.xP hehehe.

    for me, as long as pera mo yung ginagastos mo, ala akong pakialam kung papano mo gagastusin. pero anything 'shared' sa bahay, be responsible enough in your actions.

    hindi naman tayo yung mamumulubi in the end.;) hehe.

    On the otherhand, meron din naman akong kilala na shared house sila.. pero parang confined lang din sya dun sa room nya kasi yung owner or yung mga unang nagrenta before sya naki-share eh parang sila lang nakakagamit nung buong house.. for example sa lounge laging sila yung nakahilata sa sofa or nagpapatugtog ng music nila... kapag shared space.. makiramdam din kayo kung gusto makigamit ng tenant or ka-share nyo...

    may ugali kasi pinoy na masyadong tennis shoes, este tenacious pala.. eh buti sana kung wala kang ka-share at hindi ka kumukubra ng renta

    Ito na experience ko bout sa sharing first dating sa brissy. 2 puti sa isang room. Sa isa naman itim. Eh sempre sa liit ko, di nalang ako pumalag. Kahit feeling ko nilulumot na ako katatago sa room kong walang aircon. Hehehe

    Agree ako dito. Nung nagrrent palang ako ng room tinanong ako minsan kung bakit di ako nakikiupo sa sala. E paano maliit lang naman yung couch and ang sarap na ng hilata nila parati. Saan pa ako, kakandong? LOL.
