Kudos to those who survived and tried their luck sa pagpunta sa aussie. I am planning to try my luck as well. I hope it works!

I know only a few here actually know each other but ang galing, how encouraging yung mga words of wisdom and tips :)

Katakot yung move, any move nakatakot. Yung move lang from PH to SG scary na. I was in the same situation, only dito I had my sister with me, so not much pressure sa job hunting more of "internal pressure" if there is such a thing. You start to doubt yourself, and if the move was right and if it would be better just to go home, but in God's time I found a job here -- in SG not in AU.

In any situation I guess parate may lesson, AU, SG. The waiting time was perhaps the time I realized I couldn't rely on my skills, my school but on God alone. So best ang mga ganian situation when God wants you to learn something. :) Aja! :b

@LakiMasel - i think tama lang naman na magresign and move to AU by december/january..
you have alteast 1 month to settle...familiarize yourself with the area... relax/vacation ng ilang weeks, find a place, do the required stuff for new migrants (bank account..TIN, medicare/centerlink, driver's license)

by the time mag january, ready kana sa job hunting.. pag dating ng february.. saktong sakto na..

From Pinas kasi..decline ang narereceive ko from headhunters and wala naman reply for direct application.

Laging you are unsuccesul narerecive ko. May customized cover letter na ako, resume using au format..may nakalagay na permanent resident, kaso pinas address parin. May impact ba iyun? I've been applying for 2 weeks na...at madami-dami na ring application.

Parang may impact po talaga eh. Haaayy... kaso nakakatakot naman magpunta doon ng walang work eh noh. Grabe. Ganyan din po feeling ko po ngayon. Nakakawalang gana na nga din po eh. Alam ko naman na marunong ako.

Hi @rolf021 ! You mentioned yung allowance for 3 months sa AU assuming you still don't have work. If you don't mind me asking mga roughly magkano per head po kaya yung anticipated budget / expenses nyo & what were your references to come up with this figure? Very useful po kase yung info for those of us considering to take that bold move to AU without a job. Thanks! :)

@yukie77 - I have created a similar thread on your query above; you can base your computation there... I myself is a bit unsure of what is the budget weekly/monthly so I am looking for inputs.

For me, I'm a cautious optimist...so tutal marami ka inaalala, have a back-up plan as well. Yun bang pag hindi umubra tong plano, may isa ka pang course of action. Nakaka-gaan ng loob yun para sakin hehe
Agree ako sau sir LokiJr.. Ako plan ko talaga kumuha ng visa 175 then stay muna sa relatives ko sa Sydney then hanap work, at least hindi masyadong mabigat sa bulsa kung wala pa makuhang work agad. Kaso sumablay ang Plan A ko, kinulang ako ng points sa IELTS, I resorted to State Sponsorship yun nga lang sa WA and worst, wala akong kakilala dun.. So sa Plan B, sponsor na lang sa WA then stay for 2 years, hanap muna work dito before going to WA kasi honestly wala naman ako malaking savings to sustain one to two months na walang work. then based on research, failed pala yung idea na 'to dahil mas preferred ng employers ang nasa AU na before nila ihire.. Plan C ko stay muna sa Sydney habang nghahanap ng work sa Perth / WA saka ako move-in dun pero what if failed talaga, Plan D bumalik ng Pinas and ipon muna ulit.. Nagleave lang kasi ako sa work ko for two months and honestly, ok naman ako sa work ko dito yun nga lang I am hoping na mas malaki pa rin kikitain ko sa AU. :)

Wooooh.. long reply. Bottomline pa din, dapat maraming alternatives or plans in case mag-fail ang isa.

    Goodluck to all of us.

OT: It's nice to be back sa forum. haha.

Whoever said that building a network via LinkedIn and with recruiters is right. May isang recruiter akong nakilala via LinkedIn na nangungulit sa isang kompanya on my behalf. Tinatawagan nya ako once or twice a week to give me an update and wait mode daw kaming pareho. It's a mutual benefit for both the recruiter and the jobseeker dahil pareho kayong kikita sa ganitong relationship.

Maghanap ng trabaho as in OFW or to stay here for good? Kung OFW, e talaga ngang dapat na magkatrabaho kayo agad agad kasi what's the point na pupunta kayo dito. Kung stay here for good, give yourself the chance to know and adapt sa lugar .

In fact after my three months here in abroad, umuwi ako ng Pinas. But someone reminded me, na magkavisa ka lang e napakalaking blessing na.Hayun bumalik uli ako...But with different attitude.

Minsan pa nga yata hindi maganda nakakarinig ng negative stories..nakakadiscourage minsan he he he...What I can advice is close your eyes..listen to the desire of your heart. then think what is the worst thing that might happen to you when you follow your heart...can you handle it or not? If yes, GO Go Go na and dont listen to anyone. Just pray! If you are not ready, wait na lang kayo until you become ready.

God Bless po sa ating lahat..

I doubt my self na din kung marunong ba ako or what.

May interview ako noong isang gabi over Skype.

After the call, di nila naibaba yung phone. Nadinig ko yung isang kausap ko na "I can't understand what that bloke is blabbing about... the accent man, the accent".... tapos binaba ko na yung Skype call.

Nalungkot ako sa nangyari but I just shrug it off. Affected pa din ako ngayon pero iniisip ko it's their lost, not mine. :D

Saka ang plan ko pa naman ay next year na lang pupunta doon so parang OK lang.

Pero grabe ang discrimination eh noh.
