nag apply ako ng 190 last 2020 march but until now wala pa rin invite kahit 80 points na ako. mag e expire na rin EOI next month. nag submit ako ng ROI sa NSW riverina last month but so far no invites pa rin :( mababawasan na ako ng 10 points next after Sept 2022 kasi..

    Are you offshore or onshore?

    i am offsore :(

There’s no invite not because of insufficient points but because borders are closed.

ohh okay i thought stream 3 is open for offshore too and my unit group is also in NSW 190 list. It seems that i need to make a new EOI. is it possible to convert my Victoria EOI to NSW once expired? I createed multiple EOI per state.

I’m referring to your post about being on EOI since 2020 pa. You have not been invited not because of the points but because of borders being shut.

Yes, NSW started considering offshore applicants recently but it is emphasised on their website that invites are not guaranteed and chances are not high. It is still very difficult but we’re all hoping things will ease up slowly especially in the new financial year in July.

I don’t quite understand the exact situation with your EOI’s to give my opinion about it and would rather not make comments to avoid misleading you.

    Good day fellow chemists!
would like to ask for help kung paano po kayo nagpositive assessment (VETASSESS) for chemist occupation?

    1. Nagpasa po ba kayo ng course syllabus/description ng mga chemistry or all subjects? (As part ng qualification requirement)

Hope to get some tips/insights sa mga bottlenecks niyo during application.
Apologies if marami po akong tanong. Am planning to have my skills assessed and am hoping to make it right since ang laki ng itinaas sa bayad haha

Thank you very much po and God bless

    Hi Jonniel,

    1. No - Official Transcript of Records at English Translated Diploma ang sinubmit ko
    2. Yes - yung 1st year ko hindi counted

    Good luck and God bless!

You do have work rights on a student visa but as to restrictions, all depends on what you’re studying. Most employers look for local experience so that might be a struggle to begin with….to be honest, my guess will be as good as yours - kind of answer. No one really will be able to give you a definite answer. You’ll never know until you’re there. Why are you looking at studying? It seems your background is a chemist which can qualify for skilled visa already.

I agree with @RheaMARN1171933 about employers looking for local experience and your work rights as a student.

Yes, as a student visa holder you can apply for any role/job you want. Whether you get the job or not depends on your skills, knowledge, and experience (like if the employer will consider you despite the lack of Australian work experience), and if your limited work rights fits for the role they're hiring for. If the company is looking for a permanent part-timer to work more than 40 hours per fortnight, then they're unlikely to hire you. However, if they only need a casual worker for 10-15 hours per week (less than 40 hours per fortnight), then your work restrictions shouldn't be a deterrent to them hiring you.

Some employers just don't know what the work restrictions are for students (40 hours per fortnight, and being able to work without restrictions during scheduled breaks/vacations) so they don't bother or consider international students. If you choose to pursue studying in Australia, you should familiarize yourself with the visa conditions relevant to your work rights and inform the prospective employers when necessary.

Just to add, employers do know and should know otherwise they’ll be in trouble for it. That’s the first thing normally they ask - what visa the applicant is on 😉

You can get started with your skills assessment, then get your EOI lodged. Continue to work and gain experience, save your money whilst you wait for an invite, over time you also get experience. Who knows you may also get invited without work experience. I’ve always said thus on this forum, I’m not so much a fan of student pathway despite the fact that I’m a productive of this pathway. It’s an expensive way which doesn’t guarantee anything. It’s a temporary visa which isn’t immune to change in policy which means you could be studying for 2 years but policy can change and in the end you won’t make it. It’s such a big risk you will need to take.

    Good day fellow chemists!

Pupunta po akong Melbourne ngayong December as international student.

    2. Advisable pa po bang kumuha ng WHO International Certificate of Vaccination?

Thank you very much po and God bless

Hi. I'm a licensed chemist. Does VETASSESS deduct one year of work experience for this profession? I had my thesis and internship before getting my bachelor's degree and passed the chemist licensure exam thereafter. I'll be lodging my skills assessment next week and based on my calculations, I have 3.2 years of work experience. In the event that VETASSESS deducts 1-year work experience, in the EOI, will I put 2.2 and lose 5 points or 3.2 still, and gain 5 points?

You will need to follow the skills assessment outcome once you have it. So if, say, they deduct 1 year from your work experience, you can only claim the 2.2 years as positively assessed. Unfortunately that would mean you can't claim the 5 points.

In the event that VETASSESS deducts 1-year work experience, in the EOI, will I put 2.2 and lose 5 points or 3.2 still, and gain 5 points?

in my cxase the vetassess deducted one year of my work exp. U need to follow the result od vetassess the number of years positively assessed for migration.

Hello! I'm a chemist. I got invited for a 189 visa with 75 points last Oct 2022 and I lodged my visa last Nov. 14, 2022, I'm now waiting for my visa grant. Anyone here who has the same situation as mine? Any update so far?

Do you have any clue as to when we are going to get our grant? Aside from the immigration website which says 3months duration?
