Ang sequence ng stuff sakin (excluding work&bahay)

1 Bank acct - lenient sila on getting docs within 1st month & kailangan sa #3
2 TFN
3 Medicare
4 Superannuation fund - i suggest an industry fund or linked sa bank nyo. Then sa mga PR, if your income will be less than $60k by yearend (june), magextra deposit kayo ng $1k & bibigyan kayo ng gov't ng max$1k
5 Centrelink - sa PR para sa may anak sayang ang allowance
6 18+ card or drivers license
7 church
8 filipino/asian shop
9 bulk billing doctor (gp) - lahat through them & pag di bulk billing sayang ang $40/consult
10 woolies card para libreng qantas frequent flyer & points na linked sa grocery

Pag may work na (PR)
1 first homesaver account - 17% ibigay ng govt on top of the interest ng bank. Requirement lang is $1k/yr for 4yrs
2 private health insurance - hindi kasi libre dental work & non-emergency service bukod sa extra tax sa high income earners

dun po sa superannuation, if above 60k naman, no need na to add extra deposit po ba?
then dun sa bulk billing doctor, you mean we have to choose bulk billing doctors para no need to pay consultation fee..even if may medicare or private health insurance? hindi po ba narereimburse yun if ever?

Private insurance is supposed to cover those outside of medicare. Check nyo rin ang policy kasi kanya kanyang reimbursement scheme siya.

Dun sa super, if you can access industry funds, all the better as they are cheaper

They call it NSW Photocard - kung wala ka pang license at kailangan mo ng Photocard as proof of identity, age, and address.. fee is 40aud.

pag mag license kana, kailangan mo ng isurrender ang photocard..
im not sure kung meron nito sa ibang state.. pero kasi sa sydney pinakuha kmi nung kakilala namin..

for those who stayed in temporary accomodations, ihonor ba nila yung address for applications such as tfn, medicare,bank,etc..? then you 'll just update them pagmay new address ka na?

yes kailangan po.. nilagay ko ang address ng kakilala namin na tinuluyan ko...
nung naka-alis na ako, dumating na ang TFN letter from ATO..

i guess pwede nmn po.. just make sure na nandyan pa kayo sa address na yan.. kasi dyan nila i-mail ang mga documents/cards after 2-3 weeks..

@sweet_tooth puwede naman pong magrent kaagad...just visit the place personally at magpakita kayo ng mga Australian identification docs...usually 1-2 month ng bond hihingin nila

@lean110586 nakapunta ka na ba ng Sydney before? Kung alam mo na yung mga place kung san ka makakuha ng temporary residence, pwde, kung hindi, I think mdyo risky yang gagawin mo.

Hi Sweet_tooth! Hindi po nila hinihingi. Basta mag open ka lang ng account, ok na yun. In opening an account, I didn't spend a cent din. Walang money needed to open. I opened with NAB pala.

I'll answer na rin po ha your other question, you don't have to have a rental history to be able to rent a place. Sa experience ko po, I was not even working yet when I was approved for tenancy. But I already had an employer. So, they asked for a copy of the contract as proof of employment. Dito nako naghanap ng apartment pagdating ko. Mainly because agents generally don't rent out unless you've seen the place first. Kaya naman po maghanap ng apartment within a week of arrival.

One month bond rental ang usual na hinihingi plus 2 weeks' advance rental. (Worth 6 weeks of rental po in other words).

@lean110586 it helps to look in advance and you can also contact the landlord as early as possible na interesado kayo...of course huwag muna kayo magdedeposit hangga't nakita niyo na yung unit mismo hehe...kung may kaibigan kayo, mas mainam magstay muna kayo pansamantala or sa hostel

@LokiJr Thank you po,,, naghanap po ako gumtree and flatmates pero lahat po kakaiba either pinapadeposit po ako agad, ung iba sa picture and sa labas ko lang daw po tignan kase asa us daw siya ,,, idedeposit ko raw money para i telegraph daw po niya susi,,, then my nagpost po ng iisang address then 2 account po, tapos ung isa dami pong hinihinging information. Yes po magstay po muna me sa hostel magsearch po ko now na ng cheaper para diretso nalang po muna ako habang hanap ng place,,, thank you po sooo much for the information!
