@Metaform - nope. i dont think that's possible.
Kailangan kasi nila ang address mo para madeliver nila via mail ung TFN mo..

For Medicare, sabi nung nag-apply kmi, nakalink daw ung system nila sa Immigration, pati yung entry date mo.. So palagay ko hindi din pwede yun.. mabilis lang naman ito wala pang 5 mins sa pag-apply so hindi sya malaking hassle..

Hi Nadine Medicare is for PR and Australian citizen. You already have private health card provided by your employer.

My family and I are bound for Adelaide on April 2013. We got our visa 475 approved mid of this year. We hope to meet up with you at the church once we arrive. Kindly share the April event when near so our family can sked meeting with you.

1. Does anyone in the group have children ages 8-12 boy and girl? Our kids are adjusting to leaving their friends and cousins here in PH so they are hoping to have new set of friends from there.

2. Would you happen to know of a 2BR place/house - fully furnished which we can rent for a family of 4?

3. Is there a good school, preferrably Catholic school, that you can refer to us that has principles on Diversity, has Filipino kids?

Medicare and private health insurance are not necessarily the same thing

Ako sa experience ko po, yun employer ko hindi nagbigay ng private health insurance. Yun iba yata nagbibigay, yun iba subsidized, yun iba naman wala. Pero plan ko din kumuha para sa amin family of 3. Around $60-80 per month siya sabi ng pinsan ko.

Yun Medicare pagdating ng mag-ina ko (nauna kasi ako last Aug, sila last Nov dumating), pumunta ulit kami Medicare office. Tapos pina-fill up ulit ako ng enrollment form.. para magkakasama kami sa isang card. Pag dumating yun card meron kami tig-isa ng wife ko, na nakalagay names namin kasama si baby. Pinakita din namin baby book niya para sa immunization register. Free ang vaccinations.

Yup yun sa kanila around $80 family of 5 sila, couple and 3 kids. Buong family na yup. Sa may Parramatta NSW ata yun private health provider nila. Although nakalimutan ko na yun iba details, baka din subsidized yun kanila ng company kaya mababa considering 5 sila sa family. Yun samin baka ganun amount lang kasi 3 lang naman kami. Kasama na hospitalisation, and dental ata. Pero baka next year na ako kumuha, kapag regular na ako sa trabaho. Kasi iwas ako sa monthly na mga binabayaran. Hindi naman kami sakitin sa observation ko. Meron din naman Medicare if meron magkasakit.

@Bryann salamat sa info! kung tutuusin mas cheaper pa pala dyan compared dito sa SG considering na may kasamang dental pa.

Dito kasi sa SG around 100sgd per month for like us na family of four & for 100% hospitalisation coverage lang. Normal doctor visits for checkup ndi covered.

It's $76/month basic cover. May website to, if you want to check it out. Kasi baka iba needs niyo. Ako kasi, wala ako dependents, mag-isa lang ako.

Below is a list of 5 important things that you should do as soon as possible after arriving in Australia for "457 visa only".

1. Apply for a Tax File Number (TFN)

Do this first. To receive an income in Australia, you need a Tax File Number (TFN).

2. Open a bank account

In Australia, most income including salary or wages and government benefits are paid directly into a bank account.

3. Enroll Your Children in School (if you have children)

Under Australian law, children must attend school until they are 15 years old.

4. Apply for a Driver's Licence

5. Ask your employer on how to apply for membership of Long Service Leave Authority

I think each state may long service leave department. Paki search nyo na lang sa google kung saan state kayo kung mayroon. ito ang explanation:

What is Long Service Leave?

Long service leave is additional leave given to the employee who has worked in the same industry for 10 or more years.

Is Long Service Leave the same as superannuation?

There is no connection between Long Service Leave Scheme and the C+BUS Scheme, nor with Industry Redundance Schemes.

How does the Scheme Work?

The employer will record the service and wages for each employee and remit the Long Service Leave Levy to the Authority. When an employee has accumulated an entitlement they may make a claim and the Authority, each scheme has its own eligibility criteria please refer to the Industry you are registered under.

Question po. Same industry and same company din po tama ba? So if 5 years in 1 company then lumipat ka and 5 years ulit dun, walang long service leave tama po ba?
