    i'm done with the following:

medicare (needed ang bank acct number)
    tax file number (applied online)
NAB bank acct (need to go back to medicare to furnish them my bank acct number)
RTA photo capture card (needs another ID other than the passport. my credit card did it)

all of these need the passport & visa (stamped or DIAC letter). isa pa, akala ko tapos na lahat ang mga gastusin...RTA photo capture card costs $48.

better in order to avoid going back,
    TFN
bank acct (at the same day with the next)
    medicare
RTA photo card (can be done later once bank has sent u a letter of confirmation)

    did i miss anything?

@hotshot no need for the centrelink for me & my son. ang alam ko ang perm res will only be eligible after 2 years pa yata. i just don't know pag meron children involved. my son is an adult & employed.

re RTA, it's not a license yet. it's only a photo capture card for ur identification in case u chance upon an immigration officer asking for ur identity. kumbaga, no need to bring ur passport all the time. mahirap na rin baka mawala pa ang passport. pero once na maka undergo ako ng driving lessons, kahit for 2 hours lang, & have read the handbook on the rules of the street, by then madali na for me to take the written & practical test. ewan ko, di ko pa alam how to unlearn my driving habits. pero madalas pinanonood ko ang flow ng traffic esp sa major thoroughfares & roundabout. after kong maipasa lahat yan, hahanap ako ng mga aussies na nagdi-drifting. sasali ako. :D

@mallows as far as I know, yup pwede ka magentry anywhere in OZ. state sponsored din ako. pero kailangan mong pumasok sa state na nagsponsor sayo before ur IED and magstay dun for 2 yrs.

During initial entry, pwede po mag enter and stay anywhere basta nasa Oz, state-sponsored or not.

Yun lang, dapat before mag expire ang visa nating mga state-sponsored, dun na tayo sa state natin pumunta.

hi sir, as far as I know, IED is anywhere in AU... ang reqts ng state sponsored is you need to work and live there for 2 yrs before ur visa expires just like cinderella said...

not unless may nasusulat po na kelangan ang IED is kung sinong state ang nagsponsor..
if meron, I stand corrected. may link po ba kayo?

i agree IED is anywhere in AUS.

    eto mejo OT nang konti..

may batchmate ako na SS at SA ang nag-sponsor sa kanya. nung di sya makahanap ng work sa SA lumipat sya sa NSW. di ko na nga natanong kung ano mangyayari nun kasi SA ang nag-sponsor sa kanya tapos lumipat sya ng NSW. ang alam ko din kasi talaga she is required to stay in sponsoring state for at least 2 years.

May isang forumer din dito who was sponsored by SA but she decided from the start to live in NSW, specifically in Sydney. She got a job already and mukhang wala naman problema as this is just a so-called moral obligation (term used by the other forum).

But still, we won't know until say 5 yrs down the road when it will be time for you to renew your re-entry permit or say apply for citizenship. Upon knowing na you did not fulfill your obligation to your sponsoring state, I would not know what will be the repercussion to this.

Kailangan mo lang ata ay makausap mo yung state (anong position nga ba uli?) to inform them that you would like to seek employment in a different state...then gawa ka rin written notice.

I think wala naman masamang lumipat, basta maayos yung paalam niyo at in writing hehe. Pangit din tingnan na baka isipin ng mga Aussies nag-aapply tayong mga Pinoy ng mga regional visas para lang madaling makapasok sa bansa nila hehe
