2. If an employer will sponsor me, hypothetically, and they will hire me as Software/Devops. Am I still required to take an ACS assessment para magrant ako ng sponsor visa?

1 you need to be very careful with this approach. Masters degree will only give you 5 additional points. It still doesn’t change your work experience claim nor resolve your concern about the possibility of getting a negative outcome due to insufficient experience. A lot of things can happen in that 2 years and the current policies may not be applicable by then. You mentioned the course isn’t related with IT, be mindful that when you apply for a student visa, you’ll need to justify why you want to do this course and prove to them that you will go back to your home country. The government is fully aware that a lot use student visa as a stepping stone to migrate to Australia. With the proposed changes in July, expect they will be stricter with student visas. There is a lot of uncertainty in this approach, not to mention the money you will spend. At the end of the day, you will have to ask yourself, is it all worth it for just extra 5 points? Vs staying in your job and continue to gain the relevant experience. You can get 5 points from CCL exam to compensate for your qualification from a section 2 institution. Note that because the masters isn’t related with IT, there’s no bearing at all with your skills assessment. And even if it’s related, it will be somehow tricky because the experience happened prior to the AQF degree qualification.

2this is so hypothetical - if you find a sponsor. No one really knows if you’ll find one and if so, there’s still no getting a way with skills assessment when you apply for PR eventually. You would rather take control of your chances/taking matters that you can control rather than waiting for something such as a sponsor in order to get there - if that makes sense 😉

Thank you sa insights Tama po, I can justify din ung course sa end ko kasi I am handling projects din. Mas mura kasi ito kesa Masters in IT/Software Engineering ang kunin ko. Anyway, tama po ba na total of 6 years lang ung dinededuct ni ACS?

As per their guideline, yes but sometimes that’s also not always the case, depends how you I resent your evidences.

I’m not really a fan of student visa as a pathway to PR despite the fact that I’m a product of it.

Hello, It's been 12 weeks and no results yet, so I called ACS earlier today, walang sumasagot sa phone, ring lang sya ng ring, at nabawasan pa phone load ko 100 pesos kahit walang sumasagot hehehe. Try ko nalang to follow up for an email. Do they reply promptly?

Hello po nag submit po si hubby sa ACS nung May 5. Then yesterday, May 14, upon checking naka In Progress na.. Today, May 15 With Assessor na po. Hoping for positive results. May same experience po ba dito parang ang bilis lang..

Finally after 17 weeks of waiting nakuha ko na yung result ko sa ACS though may 1.5 years exp ako na hindi inaccept ni ACS, I am still grateful since nakasubmit nadin ako ng EOI after waiting ng 4 months. Thank you po Papa God.

I've backread a couple of pages here, and I'm confused about the School sections.

I graduated from UST Manila back in 2012 with a BS in Computer Science. It is listed as section 1.

I also have about 8-9 years work experience.

I read somewhere here that with "Section 1" schools, GPA does not matter. Is this true?
Since my Uni is listed as "Section 1", does that mean I'm guaranteed a Bachelor of Science 4 years assessment from ACS?

Hi! Yes, GPA does not matter if you are from a Section 1 school usually considered na bachelor's agad pag section 1 listed school. What matters is your subjects po. If sapat yung ICT subjects to be considered Major / Minor and if related sa nominated occupation mo yung subjects.

Yes po you will only be able to claim 7yrs for work experience po. ACS deducts po kasi a minimum of 2 years and maximum of 6 years from your total work experience during the skills assessment. 2 years are reduced from the candidate’s work experience as ACS considers po kasi the initial 2 years as training period po.
Then the number of years that will be deducted depends on how closely the education matches with the job profile, which in the case of ust belonging in section 1, 2yrs lang po talaga. Pero this is based on my case and what I have read before not sure if someone encountered ust as their school / belonging to section 1 pero more than 2yrs po nadeduct.

Good day to all! Pano po malalaman or saan makikita yun results? Kakalogon ko lng po sa ACS account at nakalagay Application has been finalized. Pero wala po ko makita sa site at wala din po ako natatanggap na email from them. Hoping for positive result. Thank you.

Nakitq ko na po yun result sa email and received a very dissapointed result. Nagsubmit po ako ng 14 years of experience and nilagay lng po is 4 years and 9 months. From 2018 - 2022. Which I started 2009 pa sa current company ko. Bakit po kaya ganun assess nila. Haist.. nakakalungkot naman.

Wala po binigay. Tama naman po yun Pinaassess ko as System Analyst. Yun sa start ko po sa company medyo iba lng ng konti yun title pero napalitan din ng company as system analyst at naging senior pa. Then this year nabago uli yun title as System Application Analyst. Nagprovide naman po ako ng contract at payslip from 2009 (Oct - Dec). At tax declaration po dated 2010 (for 2009). Pwede pa kaya ako makakuha possible result sa paglodge ng EOI gamit yun 4years and 9 months? Salamat!
