The fee includes writing materials and other stuff na gagamitin nila sa school. Tapos bring your own device sila, so bumili kami ng ipad and keyboard. You also need to shoulder the uniform, bags, etc which can be bought sa kanilang designated school provider.

Hi, since October kayo dumating, did your kid join the January school year? Or okay lang ba kahit midyear pumasok ang kids?

Actually ung bunso namin, incoming year 4 or grade 4 sya dito sa au. Nagtanong kami sa primary school within our catchment area.

Pwede lahat yan basta nasa checkin baggage. Nagdala ako nyan a few times lalo iron steamer.

Mahigpit sila about that. Pag nasniff ka ng dog, and hindi declared it will result to fine or refusal for entry. Bawal din left over food from plane. This is per my last travel dec2023.

I brought some matcha powder with me for personal consumption na wala sa original sealed pouch.

Sinabi ko nalang din I forgot to declare.

Malapit lang kasi kami sa city, madaling magtravel back and fort. Ung anak kong walang kaalam alam kahit tumawid e nakakauwi ng mga isa from city to bahay and vice versa.

No need to have AU drivers license as long as di pa sya expired. But if you are 190 or 189, 3 months mo lang pwede gamitin PH license mo.

The fee includes writing materials and other stuff na gagamitin nila sa school. Tapos bring your own device sila, so bumili kami ng ipad and keyboard. You also need to shoulder the uniform, bags, etc which can be bought sa kanilang designated school provider.

Hope I can get in touch with you pag andyan na kami.

Adelaide din po kame family of 3. estimated BM in June.

Hello! Just had my big move :) 491 SA.

    1. Last time I had an out of the country trip, paper pa yun travel declaration form so medyo nahirapan ako with the e-travel declaration kasi mabagal ang data ko, but nakaraos rin naman. Not sure if it can be done before the travel date but if yes, for those na bago pa lang aalis, better do it before your flight.
    2. Immigration - yun IO na natapat sa akin was not familiar with Visa 491, hinahanapan ako ng OEC. I was asked if I had contract etc which was wala naman. He had to go inside and consult someone else then later gave me a slip to validate with DMW (inside the Immigration area). They just added a note sa slip na OEC is for those leaving with employers, since wala nga ako employer pa, no need for OEC. Went back to the IO then waited for another 10-15mins before finally allowed to go.

For those with 491 visa you may want to get a confirmation from DMW regarding OEC in case your IO is not familiar with your visa. Took me almost an hour to get past Immigration, buti maaga aga ako dumating sa airport.

    1. Not sure if this is the same with all airlines flying to AU, but Qantas opened luggages (checkin and hand carry). You will not be allowed to enter the gate as you please, pipila ka muna then they'll inspect your carry ons. Water was also not allowed inside the gate.
    3. Bought my sim na sa SYD airport.
    4. Got my metrocard naman sa ADL airport para ready to go anywhere na once nakapagcheckin airbnb
    5. Opened bank account
    6. Applied for TFN
    7. Started house inspection

Question - for those na nag-agent and then created their ImmiAccount upon arriving in AU, did you have to import all your documents? I just did mine kasi and there are already attached documents.

Also, did you update the regional address upon getting a semi/permanent address? TIA!

Additional notes for CFO-PDOS (as of Feb 21 2024)

    • No address yet in Destination country? Indicate "NO ADDRESS STATED"
    • Indicate "0" instead of leaving blanks
    • Submit application even for EXEMPT applicants, otherwise you will have to fill out forms there
    • Print all documents required (even appointment document with QR)
    • Must be there at least 1 hour prior to seminar to give time for data validation and payment (Php30.00 for onsite seminar)

Most na nandito sa BIG MOVE discussion ay madidiscuss din sa seminar like TFN application, opening a bank, myGov account etc.

Hi, yes to updating address upon arrival sa immiaccount. We also had an agent and then created an account. Uploaded a few documents lang as necessary.

Hi, hindi ako kumuha ng travel insurance.

Question sa mga nagapply for TFN and Medicare:
    1. For TFN, it says you will receive TFN after 28 days. My understanding is wala rin email or anything na matatanggap ahead of time para sana makuha mo yun TFN mo in advance for let's say employment?
    2. Medicare - Will you be receiving an acknowledgement pag nagsend ka na ng forms and requirements?

    TIA!

I started my work on 05 February 2024 and applied NAB Credit Card on 09 February. Before applying, I also open account sa kanila. I submitted my Contract and identification thru online.

Then on 23 February I was approved na.

I checked my credit score sa Comm Bank app and I was shocked kasi very good ang credit score even though I am just a new PR and kaka move ko lang this month. I have a good credit history though while in PH

This is good. Although your credit score from other countries do not carry over to another.

At Commbank, even if you don't have a credit line you'll initially have an excellent credit score. I also happen to have an excellent score though I only have savings acccount with Commbank which I set up a year ago for the sole purpose of big move (haha sana soon na).

The usual process of credit checks will recompute your score based on the number of credit bureaus pulling a report for you and of course your credit line/payment history. The more applications you make, the lower your credit score will get. This was at least a business process for Amex where I worked for before, which I guess is applicable to most banks.

(DBS to Commbank)

Thanks

In general, no. Depende kung international lender, Citibank mga ganyan mukhang mahigpit.

The credit card standing in the PH generally won't have a bearing when opening accounts here. Pero if you apply for certain types of jobs, for example sa financial institution, some of them will do a background check overseas. Sasabihin naman sa iyo during the application process kung gagawin nila yan.

Sorry to interject - Any idea if HSBC can be transferred to AU and doon ituloy yung facility ? Is it an option for others who can easily migrate their account from example here in SG then ipasa sa AU yung account ?

(DBS to Commbank)

Magtatanong din ako sa provider ,then will update what i find out.
