Then you have to look for a state that requires teachers in their state migration plan... :)

i did that one already, unfortunately...very limited opportunity for teachers..and there are opportunities, you should be at least currently employed in a particular state.

Then, I am not sure how we may be able to help you here then unfortunately...

There is a separate thread here for those applying for teacher, maybe you can take a look at that.

psychoboy is right. If occupation is in schedule 1 then it should be eligible for the 189 visa.

Try to google the NSW SS. As far as i know 6 band score in each category is acceptable. Just try to check their site again i might be wrong hehehe

Hi guys, I have a question about this obligation for 190 visa holders:

"Stay in that state or territory that nominated you for at least two years"

Question ko po, should the 190 visa holder stay in his/her sponsoring state on his/her first 2 years in OZ or can he/she fulfill that obligation anytime?

    sa NSW kasi eto nakalagay:

If you are nominated by the NSW Government under the Skilled Nominated subclass 190 visa you are obliged to commit to live and work or study in NSW for the first two years of your time in Australia.

i'm just not sure about the other states though.

With the subclass 190 is it required to retake ielts? I took my ielts 2006 with a score of 8 in all category and i have been living in nz for the last 3.5 or almost 4 yrs there and now almost a year na din here in au. My manager told me na they will sponsor my p.r. Pag nag 1 yr on the job na ako. I am not certain if it is 190 or 189 but both have an ielts requirements.

So does it mean i need talaga to retake the ielts dahil super expired na yung previous ielts ko?

    Thanks for the input;)

I think u still need to take the ielts since requirement sya.. mga native english speakers lng naman ung passport nila kailangan if they are not planning to claim points sa ielts kasi automatic competent na yan sila. Baka meron din excuse hehehe di ko lng alam like studying for a higher degree in a certain period of time.. (opinion ko lang po) ^^

@Strader hmm.. Thanks;) problem talaga i cant decide if required bah ielts or not for me. Im an i.c.u nurse here in au and same job in nz. The only higher education we do is either post grad or masters which d naman talaga kailangan for us nurses kasi even without those we still get pay increase. If choice between ielts or masters.. I will take the ielts! Hahaha! Masters not for people with kids.

Also im an nz p.r. Not citizen though. Anyone in the same boat as me? Like if sponsored by the employer..,my employer is a public hospital din.

It not a big deal for me to retake ielts but very redundant na kasi.. Considering i have been living and working in an english speaking country 5 yrs na this year.

Im on 457 visa.. I was not asked for ielts to get this one cause like i said my ielts was 2006 pa.

Kasi sa anmac which is our assessment body for nurses.. Di na ako required mag ielts. Whatever result ng anmac pwdi ko i submit to diac for p.r. Application. Pero like i said i dont understand if i still need to retake the ielts just because nasa requirement as a general rule. Wala bang exception or a modified assessment?

    Thanks for the input;)

@li_i_ren - pag nag-apply po kyo ng visa 190, eh walang exemption/exception, kasi this is a visa application by the skilled migrant mismo (GSM-gen skilled migrant)..

in your case, dahil employed na po kayo dyan, you will be under the employer nomination scheme (ENS).. visa 186 or visa 187 (for regional).. at dito posibleng hindi nyo na kailangan ng ielts..

check this link and then click yung link about "exemptions" on age/skills assessment/english..
    http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/visas/subclass-186/

meron din pong thread dito about this type of visa..
    http://www.pinoyau.info/discussion/1091/186-ens-visa-timeline/p1

although ENS visa timeline yung thread, na discuss din ng konti ang pros/cons ng ENS versus GSM visa 189/190

@lock_code2004 thanks! Ok will look into that kasi i am not familiar with the 186.. Most nurses kasi nasa 190 or 189 which required ang ielts even though employed here in au.

But i see what u mean kasi ung 457 visa ko was sponsored by the employer hence nasa exemption sya for ielts... http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/skilled-workers/changes-eng-req.htm.

Will look into the 186 visa..wala pa kasi naka mention sa akin nyan. Most people i have asked sabi is 190 or 189 visa after the 457 kaya medyo i am a bit confused.

@li_i_ren: I got interested in this thread at dun din sa sinabi ni sir @lock_code2004. ;;)

There is actually a way to navigate around the IELTS requirement!!! For 457 visa na tulad natin @li_i_ren, pwede through the Temporary residence transition Stream (ENS 186 scheme, if I'm not mistaken). But there is a caveat though:

"Exemptions for age, skills and english ability will be based on a person’s nominated occupation, salary or the length of time they have been employed with their nominating employer". - quoted verbatim from the website.

Madugong proceso eto, but if I we can get away with NOT taking the IELTS anymore, why not chocnut... :))

    7 Jan 2013 - medical finalised

Hello nadine!! Viber u tonight:) yeah kasi hubby is taking the ielts this month.. Retake din kasi expired na previous ielts also. Our plan was on may me naman take ng ielts but if i can get away with not taking it i would be more than happy not to sana:)

Age, salary and length of experience more or less i think i will qualify naman. But will research more about the 186...most people i know kumuha kasi ng 189 or 190. I guess they still have valid ielts and not willing to wait for employer sponsorship.

tapos share your experience here.. ;)

    @babybluelyn

    Hi babybluelyn, good day po.

Maitanong ko sana kung ano yung nangyari sa kaibigan mong nag apply as university lecturer, nakapag successfuly migrate na ba sya under Visa subclass 190 sa Australia?

Mag aaply din kasi ako ng university lecturer, so baka pwede kami mag share ng notes about sa application nya, then kung my maipapayo sya sa akin...

Balitaan kita pag natuloy sya.

I'm new here and don't know where to post my question :-)

we applied through agency, got the assessment from ACS and passed the IELTS also, my husband got 70 points overall (he's the primary). my problem is why the agency is applying for subclass 190 instead of 189? i asked her if we are not eligible for subclass 189, til now no answer from them. they're telling us to choose from 2 states so they can start the process...

what are the benefits of having 189? do you think will go for 190?

kung ang nominated occupation nyo po ay nasa CSOL (at wala sa SOL), sa visa 190 po talga kayo eligible..
