Ang possible po makuha ng mga bagong dating na migrants are Family Tax Benefit and Rent Assistance and Child tama po kayo. Sa couples, mukhang dapat pareho meron tax file number. Hinihingi pa ito samin ng Centrelink. Pati Rent Certificate form. :D Family tax benefit A & B mukhang makakakuha kami kasi hindi ako nagstart ng work Jun 2012 so pasado sa income test. Hehe.

In addition, rent assistance is already included on family tax benefit, so if ur not eligible on family tax benefit, u can't claim the rent assistance alone..

It does not really matter if you apply or not but the things is IF YOU APPLY... makukuha mo na ang card mo within the next month > have this posted to an address of a friend and ipadala mo nalang sa Singapore...

This way covered ka na c/o your Medicare pagbalik mo dito sa Australia; I don't know what is the rationale behind not yet applying sa Medicare, gagawin at gagawin mo naman ito eh, and wala naman bayad to apply.

Im not sure about kung pwede ka mag apply agad, according to our friend you need to have at least wait for a week after your initial entry before you can apply for a medicare ...

anyway theres no harm in trying

@rachelle_gan2 makasingit nga, sa Paragon kami nagpamedical and it only takes 3 working days. Well, by end of this year pa kami punta ng ausie but na briefing na kami ng migration agent namin here sa SG. Based sa information mo regarding ur kids (similar to ours), you will get 440 AUD per fortnight for two kids, means 880 AUD per month as family assistance. Meron ding rental assistance pero around 290 per month. The benefits is salary tested and applicable to household salary of not more than 78K AUD per year, kung sumobra don, the benefits will be reduced proportionally until ur family salary reached 144K AUD, and then 100 AUD per month na lang allowance.

@Filamokio Salamat sa reply.. Nga pala kunwari wala pang work makakatangap na agad ung mga kids?

For example: punta na kami AU with the kids. Pero wala pang work mag hahanap palang.. Ibig sabihin my matatangap agad kahit wala pang contribution sa AU?

    Sino pala agent mo?

@rachelle_gan2 Yes. Yung benefits ay matatanggap the moment u arrived (well, after you lodged in the centralink, it takes about 2 to 3 weeks, not so sure) regardless kung meron kang work or wala. Our agent here is Australian migration, sa raffles office. They are quite proffesional and their responsibility is not just limited after u got approval of PR, until sa briefing once na u decided to enter ausie, and even sa pagpapalit ng sgd to AU, may mga contacts sila.

    @filamokio

As I know rental allowance is already included in Family tax benefits.. Same with my dad, only my 2 younger brothers considered his dependent.. My dad is receiving $400 per fortnight, already included the rental assistance which is $90.. So I think sa sinabi ng agent mo na $440 evry fortnight included na jan ang rental allowance which total 290/month or 145/fortnight.. By the way rental allowance may depend how much you pay the rent.. And also my school kids bunos din which they pay twice per year, January and July..

Yung rental allowance is around 147 per fortnight if the ur rental does not exceed around 900 per month.

@Filamokio..But that will still depend on ur income..Ksi income tested ung Family tax benefits.. At sa dad q ang natatanggap nya is $400/fortnight including rental allowance na..

It doesn't mean na pag my two kids ka $440/fortnight kaagad ung matatnggap m..

@nfronda Yes I know and if you noticed in my previous post, i mentioned its salary or income tested. if your combined salary (hubby & wife) is 78k AUD or less, then u could get that amount..
