icebreaker" pero take note, since nag-introduce sila ng half score, ang ginawa nilang standard ay round down...not round up... so kung sample ang score mo ay 7.75 (sample lang) ang score pa rin nyan ay 7.5 NOT 8... kasi nga round down..."

    pero bakit po sa ielts.org
Overall Band Scores are reported to the nearest whole or half band. For the avoidance of doubt, the following rounding convention applies; if the average across the four skills ends in .25, it is rounded up to the next half band, and if it ends in .75, it is rounded up to the next whole band.

so pag 7.5 =8 band score daw.. tama ba.. thanks
I am not sure po, pero yun ang paliwanag sa niners... may link ka po ba ng grading nila na round up?

    cheers :)

@icebreaker, I know the technical scoring of the exam. I already took my IELTS last June. It helps if you show spunk and energy during the Speaking Exam because that's where you get your momentum when answering. Of course you should not talk too fast but showing a lot of energy in the exam brings out a better conversation, regardless of the situation.

And for me, Speaking Exam is pretty much like a Job Interview because you want to sound as intelligent as possible when responding. It's not a matter of pretending or being honest but being able to think and answer quick. Those stutters, "umms", and dead air will affect your results after all so whether you lie or just be yourself, all that is important is you can carry a good conversation with the assessor. If you don't know much about the topic you chose and you have a minute to talk about it...A 'grammatically correct' lie will save you hehe

The assessor also can listen again to the recording especially if he was not sure of what you meant in some questions. So whether or not you want your results remarked or not, it's still better to speak clearly to be sure.

I am not exactly sure why you're disagreeing with me so much pero kanya kanya lang siguro yan hehe. :)

@groovez10, my understanding po is each exam has criteria and each factor may be graded by quarter of a band score (0.25, 0.50 and 0.75), when they average that...you produce the band score for the exam at yun ang nirround down...it's either 0.5 or 1 lalabas :)

As for restroom breaks, pwede siya wag lang during listening exams.

Depende siguro sa location...dito kasi sa Jakarta, pencil sa Listening and Reading then sa Writing it's your choice whether to use pen or pencil.

Nakakabitin naman ang result ng IELTS ko!

    L-7.0 R-7.0 W-7.0 S-6.5 Overall: 7.0

Kaya aun, nag file agad ako for remarking ng speaking right after ko makita ung result hehe.

Goodlcuk to the next IELTS takers, kaya nyo yan!

I think $42 sa embassy. Medyo madami kase. Kaya if may chance po magpanotarize sa Pinas parang mas okay if dun na lang lahat. Mas makakatipid po kayo :)

Ganun ba?

But from what I know most assessing bodies require applicants to send certified copies of documents. It it best to check with the requirements of your assessing body. VETASSESS po assessing authority ko and I was required to send certified copies.

Misinformed kaya sila?

Sure bang tumataas ng 7 kapag nagpaparemark? I am also hoping... :)>-

@admin I have a question in mind but it's off the topic but I just want to hear from the people in this forum. Any reason for this? Shy ba kayo mag-pakita ng faces nyo? Ang hirap tuloy i-identify if gurl or mhen ang forumer, hehehe. And malay nyo some of us magkakakilala... long lost friends, dating katrabaho or even kamag-anak. Just asking..... :)>-

@Methylester thanks for the info. appreciate it.
    @heyits7me_mags @LokiJr thanks
A night before the exam ako nagpractice ng writing and speaking (but more on wiritng) kaso kulang pa rin kasi naka-apat lang akong practice sa writing task 1 tas isa sa writing task 2.

Tas pag sa listening kayo nahihirapan, manuod lang kayo ng mga talk show, docu, movies, commercials etc sa youtube (English or Australian accent), it will help you a lot. Good luck!
