guys, tama bang pagdating ng November, most of the companies eh nag stop na mag hiring?

Usually kasi people go on holidays sa December... So simula pa cguro sa November bumabagal na daw talaga. No first hand experience yet though.
mukhang wrong timing nga ang dating namin nito... huhu
sana may mangilan ngilan pa rin na open posts

Nagtanong po ako sa mga recruiters, matumal po nga pag November up to December. Pumi-pick up po by mid-January.

Guys, tanong po, sa Australia ba yung hiring process eh katulad lang satin sa Pinas na meron ding Medical Examination? Kailangan pa ba yun kahit na nag medicals na tayo sa ating Visa Application?

@peach17..others may request other may not.. so depende sa company or sometimes depende din sa posisyon na aaplyan m.. ang medical sa work at medical sa visa ay mgkaiba yun..hndi namn ksi pwde na kunin ng employer m ang mdcal result m sa immigration..

@peach17 hindi mo masasabi na wala ka work by Nov. Ang IT dito pag nangailangan yan mabilisan. hehehe kya preferred nila normally na andito ka na. Minsan interviewhin ka nyan the next day offer na. or on the spot mag-verbal offer. hehehehe kaya be positive lang. Pero prepare din for whatever happens.

Just to update you guys, I went to Perth on 23 to 27 of Aug for medical (company sponsor yung everything), then my medical got ok and finally signed my employment contract. I will start on Oct 1...but meantime, back to SG muna to tender my resignation at mag nilay nilay. God Bless sa lahat.

Hello po sa lahat. Medyo malas po ako sa jobhunting dito sa Sydney. Mga 7 months na rin akong naghahanap. Pero di ko to namalayan dahil sa kahihintay ng reply sa mga inapplayan ko. Puro close calls yung mga applications na suited sa qualifications ko. Merong company na nagkainteres sa akin after ng interview kaso hinanapan ako ng local experience, meron ding hindi na naghire for the role kahit sabi sa akin sa interview e malaki chance ko, at merong hanggang final three lang ako. Swertehan talaga dito at sabi nila swerte ka na raw pag na invite for interview kasi usually daw hindi bumababa ng 100 yung applications for every role, kaya sobrang competitive na talaga ang I.T. job market ngayon. Hopefully, makahanap pa rin ako. Although sinasama ko na rin ngayon pag aapply sa mga trabaho na di-related sa experience ko.

Baka may alam kayong opening sa HR or Recruitment sa Melbourne? 1 month na kami dito at napakarami ko ng rejection emails. Pero currently, 2 weeks na kong sales associate sa Optus.

Share ko lang pala. aside from updating your linkedin account, make sure you also update your seek account. In my case, hindi sya kasingdami ng information sa linkedin account ko pero dahil may seek account ako, may mga recruiters na nagccheck ng resume ko and tinatawagan ako. hehee Kaya try nyo rin pagandahin seek account nyo. You will never know who will come across your resume. Take note na hindi updated resume ko hehehe Hindi pa nakalagay local experience ko pero naging interested sila sa profile ko. But I did not pursue the opportunity any further kase gusto ko muna tapusin yung contract kung asan ako ngayon.

Recruiters will come to you not the other way around ....

If you are going to put on a profile make sure your STRONG qualifications is there plus a nice photo inde yung mukhang parang natutulog lang or pang ID na photo

1. A lot of prayers!

2. Tailored CV (as in lahat ng itemized requirement ng employer eh nandun sa CV mo at yun ang unang una nila mababasa sa CV mo)

3. Sincere cover letter (Write it like you mean it! Yung letter ko sa kanila simple lang format, intro, body, and pleasantries then close pero it says my high interest sa job and what I have to offer)

4. Network. (May kakilala ako na pinoy working for the company na gusto ko applyan, tinanong ko ng tinanong yung nature ng work and tips na din kung anu dapat isagot sa interview - for example, kahit na hindi ako madalas umakyat ng tore, sabi ko comfy ako mag work at heights

)

Timeline: applied 17-Aug, interview 23-Aug, first day 27-Aug.

dipende siguro kung anong visa ang hawak mo. kasi ako under student visa kahit 10yrs ang experience ko as customer service sa pinas hindi ako makahanap ng work sa ganun. kaya ngayon i'm working as food beverage attendant sa isang coffee shop
